Beautiful Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Beautiful Sunday

Postby linann » Sun Feb 17, 2013 8:03 am

It's a crisp, cold morning and the sky is a beautiful blue. Wendy and Sarah are visiting so we are sure to have fun. Sandy headed out early because she plays in the orchestra at church. Will make a big breakfast when everyone gets up. Then, we'll figure out what's happening. Soos will be coming over and maybe even Pete (from ORS). It was in the low 30's last night and the same is predicted for tonight. Of course, all the ladies up north are dealing with much much colder temperatures, but 30's is cold for us. Best wishes for a wonderful day!

It is indeed a beautiful Sunday morning.
What a lovely place Linda and Sandy have here. Only problem is the big Chill in the weather but should start to warm again by tomorrow.
Other than fighting a strong head wind, Wendy and I had another short uneventful drive from Okeechobee to St Cloud yesterday. That's the best kind.
Have a good day everyone!

Top of the morning to you all.... :D Coffee's going here along with the orange rolls for a sunny Sunday morning.... ;)

Brought the thread "Destinations for 2013" up to the top for Carolb.....Now you can figure out where everyone is planning to go this year, so far....

Got down to 27F last night here in GA......Ernie had the water un-hooked and the pump on for the night....Its' up to 32F now, so he's hooking up the water for the day...Looks like he'll have to do it again tonight cause it's suppose to be cold again over night...

We're visiting with friends today for lunch.....then it's back to settle in and get ready to watch "Killing Lincoln" on NGC tonight.....

Okay, will stop for now....Those traveling, safe travels, and to all, have a great day..... ;) :D

Good morning all. The sky is blue and the sun is brilliant. Only 37 right now, but will get up to 70 today. Tyler kept asking to go out and then would search for April and Tigger. Then lay at the window and watch for them. I sure enjoyed our time with Carolb too!! :P

We made an offer on the MH. Their counter offer was exactly in the middle between the two numbers and they will add the fireplace at no expense. Ball is in our court. But you can not buy a vehicle on Sunday in Texas. By law!! How crazy is that?? All the dealers are closed. So now it will have to be Monday. And Monday we are going to League City to test drive the Fleetwood because we are still in contract with a deposit. Then after we test drive and say we don't like it, then we are no longer under contract :P Then we'll be up trying to agree on a mutually satisfactory price for the Tiffin.

As much as I love this rig I am already feeling Buyer's Remorse. DH said that it is a cognitive function called "Post Purchase Dissonance" or PPD. Studied "ad nauseum" by sales and marketing specialists. That doesn't help the big knot in my stomach. This is a much bigger commitment. I know it's my $$ ( and his too) and you can't take it with you. DH says he plans on spending all his $$. The kids can take care of themselves. He says he wants the last check he writes to bounce. And I really want to travel. So I guess this is really it. But this is a bit over the top. It is a bit intimidating. I can drive it OK, but everything else is so intimidating. I know. The 5er was intimidating as well. And, yes, I will get used to this too. I've just got a case of the nerves. Thanks for listening.

Everyone have a great day. Stay safe on the road. Aloha y'all

Good Morning ladies
spring is in the air, did not even need my heater last night, the electric mattress pad kept me plenty warm.
Not sure what I'm doing today, will wash up the doggie towels for sure and since I didn't get my uniforms
washed yesterday, thats on the agenda as well. Otherwise it could be a spur of the moment day. Tomorrow
daughter is picking me up to go with her to try on more wedding dresses, and it probably will include lunch.
Oh wow, it just occurred to me, I get to ride in her new car and I hope she's bringing Jack so I can play with
him. :P
Red, dealers are closed here too on Sunday and they were as well in Colorado. I think thats crazy too.
You'll do fine learning the new ropes of the new rig, just take a deep breath and get to it :P
Ok, everyone have a great day, be safe, be warm and happy travels.

It's pretty chilly here in SoCal at night, too, but I like the cold nights, I sleep better snuggled under the electric blankie. We've had some nice warm days but that's coming to an end, we have another cold front coming in. Snow down to 2000 feet, or so the weatherman said last night. The skiers love it, but it makes for cold days here when the snow is down that far.

I was rudely woken up by our local band of coyotes around 5 this morning singing praises to the hunting gods and of course every dog within a mile joined in the halleleuja chorus. Do you have any idea how many dogs there are in a country mile? Me neither but it sure makes for a loud and joyful chorus!! That's ok, I was pretty much ready for my first cup of coffee. Miss Chewy just raised her head and "errrred" a couple of times...she hates to have her beauty sleep interupted!

I sent Karen S detailed directions from Tx to SoCal yesterday and then realized that she's really coming and I'm gonna have to clean house. Oh joy. I used to be one of those people that cleaned down to the cracks with a toothbrush and washed the lightbulbs. I've really gone downhill since my hubby passed...I just don't really care anymore, I guess. I keep thinking I'll get over that, but evidently not. sigh. Good thing she brings her own house with her. And then I got to thinking...why am I doing all the work for her trip?? I should be cleaning house, not routing! But that's what friends are for and I've done that trip so very many times I can tell her the good places to stay and the easy in and out fuel stations. To be honest, I can't wait until she gets here, we get in and out of to much trouble together!

Glad I'm on your list Carolb. :D You can post the cities you're gonna be near several days in advance and still be safe. That way we have a chance to contact you and make plans to at least have coffee if not a longer visit.

Guess that's about it for this side of the world. Hope everyone is having a great day so far and travel safe!

Good morning all,
Sharon you really gave me a chuckle to start the day with your story of the coyotes and how many dogs in a country mile plus the fact that you used to wash light bulbs
Red I hope you start to get excited instead of nervous, it sounds like a beautiful RV and that plus you can handle it will hopefully be a comforting thought.

Safe travels to all and to those getting together with forum sisters have a great time.

Bright and sunny here this morning. Playing with camping gear is on the agenda.

Sharon, William wishes he had been at your place early today. He loves his bark! There used to be a pair of Airedales about two blocks down, and they all had a bark every evening. Now sometimes William stands in the middle of the yard, barks into the silence, and then listens intently, hoping somebody will answer.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I am back in my trailer this morning with the two dogs, after spending a night that got down to 37 degrees according to my max-min thermometer. Kathy is back at my house having some alone time without the bitch she claims I am to interfere.

I spent a fun afternoon with Linda, Sandy, Wendy, Sarah, and Pete yesterday at Linda's house. It was very cold and windy, and I was wishing I had brought a jacket with me. What a gorgeous house and grounds have Linda and Sandy! It was really good to see Pete again, along with the others I spent a neat time with at the FL GTG. I didn't bring any goodies with me as I had not planned to leave for the trailer until today, after Kathy and I were scheduled to go to Sea World to hear the Beach Boys (which did not work out) but I pigged out on the crackers and dips and cheeses that the others had provided.

The dogs and I stayed warm last night by running my electric heater, and Molly kept me warm right next to me in my bed. Apparently my heavy-duty sleeping bag is back at the house, and all I had was this flimsy hot-weather Coleman bag for me to use here! But I was very comfy.

Perhaps we all might go out to dinner somewhere tonight, although my funds will be at a low until Wednesday Social Security day. At any rate, I will head back over there to visit some more before Wendy and Sarah head back north.

My son and Melissa are visiting her parents in Tampa this weekend, so the dogs and I are alone here, which is not a bad thing. The pups are loving their freedom to run and chase the frisby and just be dogs-on-the-loose.

Happy Sunday to all of you wherever you may be!

(Girls at Linda's, let me know your plans for today, please!)
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Soos, Everyone is up so get on over here whenever you are ready. Coffee, juice and danish are out. We're going to be making omelets soon. Obviously, it's a relaxed, lazy morning.

William would have an absolute ball here, all of the dogs in the 'hood are quite vocal! All it takes is one to send out the invitation and pretty soon it's like one of our GTG's...all talking at the same time!

Good Morning all,

Actually it's getting on to late morning and will be noon, if i don't get in here. I see that it's chilly pretty much everywhere right nwo. Was around -8 when i got up this morning to let Sassy out around 6. had a very bad sleeping night last night due to thpain in my back making it near impossible to find a spot of lay and sleep. So it was in fits and spots of sleep. At one point i thought of heading to ER to see what the heck is going on back there, but decided to wait as i have an appt. with my Chiropractor tomorrow morning anyway and also with my NP on Tuesday by chance. According to my Chiropractor, it's in the bones in my lower back as they wer twisted out of place, so it could be something that's just gonna take time. I did notice this morning that I can stretch my full torso out and stretch the muscles a bit, whic his something i haven't been able to do for awhile, so maybe slow but sure..... In the meantime  Dang, I hate being sidelined.

It sure sounds like everybody down in FL and all over south and west have been having quite a winter visiting with each other. Lots of mini GTG's. Wendy and Sarah are slowly working their way north and Carolb is slowly working her way west. I will have to read the General Talk thread and see where all she's heading as well as eveyrbody else this summer. I know a lot of you are heading west to the Rockies.

BJ, sorry to hear that Elsie had to have a ride to the dealers to get fixed, but hopefully that will be all it takes. Louise, I love your new Adventuremobile. Thlat's exactly the same idea that I have too, converting a van into a camper for myself. Will be keeping an eye out for one over the next year. Can't wait, but must make sure funds are sufficient to get a 1nd vehicle on my insurance.

Red, I know the feeling of nerves when making a big purchase like that. I think we wll go through that no matter what we are getting. It's the fear of the unknown, is our money going to outlast us so we can live with out worrying about it or are we blowing our life's savings away to quick. Lots of thinking, planning and courage to take the plunge. But as we all know, we can't ake it with us and none of us know how much longer we are going to be on the facr of this earth. It's better to do what we want while we an, have our health and means to do it rather than wait and be sorry later. And I shouldbe the one talking. I'm the one holding back for the exact things I just said  I too have an urge to be on the road, but not sure if it's a sell the S&B, travel for awhileand then settle down, or sell the current S7B, find a smaller one, and use it as a home base. Thinking cap on here

Well, need to answer a call of nature here :) , so gotta run. Have a wonderful day all, enjoy each others company and travel safe if you are on the road.

Not as cold as where you are, Sue, but it is chilly and very windy here near Jupiter, Florida. It's about 50 right now but was colder in the night, and I think it is the wind which is so bad, Huddled under my down comforter last night with the electric heater going and the propane furnace kicking in once in a while. At least the sun is out now. I was going to take a river tour but may postpone it until tomorrow when it is warmer.

Big mistake last night. My cousin had picked me up to go to spend the day with his sister--hadn't seen her in several years. About halfway back to drop me off at 8:00 pm last night and I remembered I had forgotten to take the gate code with me. Oops! And it is at least a quarter mile walk in from the gate to my campsite--and not nice in the wind and cold, but at least I had a hooded sweatshirt on. I started to walk but found someone in at the gatehouse who gave me the code so we could drive in instead of my having to walk.

Big lesson learned--always put the gate code on your cell phone when you check in someplace!!

My ants were gone and I tossed the ant traps, but I saw a few this morning in my shower, so put out a new one there.
