Candles lit here, Ava, and I am sending healing strength to your brother. Thank heavens for your fast-acting sister-in-law. They are making amazing inroads on treating stroke victims now, so he has a good chance. Keep us posted.

ok, here's an update ......
they did surgery to put in a stint to drain the fluid off his brain. The pressure on
his brain before surgery was 38 whatever and normal is 2, he is on a respirator
cause he has sleep apnea and could not get enough air, something about the
sleep apnea machine on his face, not sure what that all meant. Don't know yet
what the outcome will be, he is semi comotose so the brain can heal.
Thank you all for your support, it means alot to me.

Oh, Ava! I'm so glad he paid attention and got into the doctor soon enough (these new treatments are SO amazing). Brain swelling can manifest frightening symptoms. But when the swelling subsides ... often all is well. You are both in my prayers.

Update on my brother..................
he came out of his coma Tuesday, they took the ventilater out but he can not
swallow, they don't know if its because of the stroke or because of the soreness
from the ventilater, time will tell. The bleeder he had was internal in the brain
where they could not operate, but they did operate to put the stint in to drain
fluid. They gave him some medicine to stop the bleed and it now has caused
two clots in his leg which they have done another surgery to put some screen
thingy in to keep the clot from traveling into his heart (I think) He can't talk,
but he can grunt. Thats all I remember, will have to ask my sister to repeat
everything again cause its all so overwhelming to me.
Just remembered, they did another surgery to put a feeding tube directly into
his stomach because he can't swallow.

it sounds like it's a slow recovery, but still it looks like he's improving slightly. that is good news. I'll keep him in my thoughts and still sending good light his way.

Me too, Ava....still have a candle burning for him here, and am sending strength and healing power his way. I'm a firm believer in the power of positiveness when it comes to healing the physical body.

Hugs to you and your family

It sounds overwhelming ... but there is progress there, and it sounds like the docs are staying ahead of the complications. My prayers are with you and your brother. Stay strong ... expect the best.

Sorry it took me so long to get to this post, Ava. Prayers winging their way to your brother and a huge cyber hug for you.
