Warmer, drier Friday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Warmer, drier Friday Morning

Postby Irmi » Fri Feb 15, 2013 8:07 am

Good morning everyone!

The sun is shining this morning! Yay!!! It's so nice to see the clear skies this morning. We're supposed to reach the high 60's to low 70's today, but the next couple nights are going to be cold. It'll be a quiet day here today, possibly a trip across the street to do some shopping. Meant to do that yesterday but it sprinkled all day and just didn't feel like going out in that weather. Talked to my parents yesterday to wish them a happy Valentine's day and they both sounded good. Happy & safe travels to those on the road!

Good Morning
Moving day again for me and Wendy.
We had a big squall line come thru right after I posted yesterday. Hard rain that lasted about two hours; really loud on the roof. Temps dropped 25 degrees over that short period. Light rain much of the remainder of the night. It has stopped for now and maybe we won't have to drive in rain today. Thankful we are only going about 125 miles; taking a scenic route north. I've decided I really like these shorter drive days.
Need to finish coffee and put somethings away.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning Irmi and others to follow

What a difference just approximately 30 miles can make. It rained most of the day yesterday here. It would slow down to sprinkles and then start raining in earnest every few minutes. Other than getting the dogs out during the sprinkle sessions, I mostly was in bed or laying on the couch since the rain and change in temps had my legs and arms hurting. I did work on my computer. I had to take it back to factory settings because the picture file had gotten corrupted. Once it was back to factory settings, had to reload my "Office" software and my software for my virus protection. Then reloaded the software for my camera to make sure my pictures folder was working again. It was, so then had to reload my pictures from Photobucket and FB. Took most of the afternoon to get all this done. I had been putting this off, but figured a rainy day was the perfect time to do it. Still have to update my IOS on my iPhone, but will work on that today or tomorrow. I am looking forward to sunshine again. The rain was definitely needed, but I like sunny days much better.

Depending on what time my new little washer gets delivered today (it is on the truck for delivery finally), I have some running to do. I need to go to Walmart and Lowe's for sure.

Sarah, we were posting at the same time. You and Wendy have a good drive today. I like the shorter driving days too.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good Morning !!!!! Having my coffee, read about clear skies and sun ! Not seeing it here, drizzly, no sky up there  and wet here, south of you Irmi. It will come, so not complaining, they need all the rain they can get here.

Friend is having a tool sale of husbands craft tools. Neighbor is helping her, so not sure what my day will be. I hope she can get rid of the bigger items. Her DH made beautiful wood crafts and they were always at the festivals etc. , her life is quite different now.

One thing if I can today, is catch up on all the trouble some of you might be getting into  I've missed so much some I will never know. Hoping no real bad issues for any of you and you are well !!!!!!

Won't ramble, wishing you all a good day, those traveling Stay Safe Please !!!!
CArol :)

Sarah and Dawn scooted in before me, so will try again, I agree about rain, Dawn, my bones don't appreciate cold or wet :D ,Sarah hope it clears before you all get on the road, Take care !!

Good morning everyone. Had an interesting V day with HD. He gave me some really cute cards, took me out for a nice steak dinner. My gift?? A lifetime membership to the NRA. I don't even know how to take that  Seriously though, he just got it to support the NRA and thought it would be funny to give it to me for V day :P We didn't exchange gifts cuz he says we're getting the HM.

Carolb is on her way west along the I 10 and I am so happy she decided to go a little out of her way and come stay here for the night. We tried to facetime Dawn, but then realized there is a time zone and it was way too late. we'll try again today. In just a few hours last night over cake we discovered we lived just a few miles from each other our during our high school year. Our schools played football against each other and she was a song leader for her school and I was in the band at my school. so we know we at the same location at least 4 times in 4 yrs for those games  We even hung out at the same beaches and places. We both are scuba divers. Anyway, so looking forward to spending more time today. We are texting or see if it is Tyler's turn or her dogs turn for the yard. We have 2 1/2 acres totally fenced for dogs. I hope they enjoy.

Everyone have a great day and stay safe if you are on the roads. Aloha y'all

Burrrrrr Morning to all... very cold and will continue until Sunday...
I got a wonderful call last night from my grandson Pete he proposed to his girlfriend Shaelyn after a long dating record of 7 years... they make a beautiful couple... an old fashioned couple both live at their own parents homes... they are working on their house...
Woke up at 4 this morning... guess my body did not need extra sleep...
Sarah glad you and Wendy are traveling together... that is always fun... I enjoy short days myself...
Take care everyone... drive careful on the roads...

[color=#BF0000][color=#BF0000][b]Lots of news on weather...we are getting more and more warm days but it's still Feb and this is AR....we have had 6" snows many times in March so I'll expect anything until April. Many people get in a hurry to get tomato plants in by April and then a freeze gets them. I will be in my house officially in a month to 6 weeks. I bought wallpaper yesterday to line my drawers and shelves. My mother couldn't put dishes on bare wood so I can't either.
Sarah, I am proud of you...sounds like you have gotten very comfortable going here and there in your little home on wheels. I so agree on easy days, why try to get from A to Z in record time and be worn out at end of day...I would love to go to the keys...maybe next year at this time Doug, Hogan and I can do this....
Chris, I meant to comment on your moving from 5er to MH. I looked at some Tiffin's while out traveling. It was a Camping World in Tenn and they were also selling Tiffins'. I think your decision to go shorter than 40' is very smart. You already know you can handle it easily. My ex and I had a 42' (thought we were buying a 40 but learned later it was a 42") That was just too long and limited our ability to park and maneuver in some parks. I really liked the ones I walked through and have always heard they are up there with the higher end MHs in quality. Have you found the perfect toad for DH...his height limits you but there is a perfect one for him out there. I am so happy for both of you that you have found such compatibility with travel and nothing compares to making good friends...I probably won't get to meet that many of the girls face to face since my travel will be more limited than I planned but I still feel like I could walk up to any of you and feel like I've known you for years.

Ack Ack I've been cut off from the world of communication! First, there was no morning paper at the door, next I discovered no internet connection. Good grief!! DH was laughing at me because I always look online for phone numbers so was trying to find a phone book to look up the number to call about the paper. Guess I'm going to have to break down and call Frontier as all my efforts to reconnect have failed. But, had the idea to go look to see if any of my neighbors had an unlocked signal and bingo!! I hopped right on there signal so here I am, thanks to someone that left there signal open no doubt by mistake.
I was wondering where carolb was, that was a fast trip west, sounds like a GTG is happening in TX. Red, had to chuckle at your unique Valentine present. Sarah I hope you and Wendy have good weather as you wander home, short distances sounds like a good idea, a good way to stop and see all the sites along the way and not worry about having to hurry.
Guess I'd better catch up on the rest of the posts and get the dogs breakfast going they will be at my side encouraging me soon!

Good Morning,

The sun isn't too far up in the sky this morning - I woke at 7:30 (was 10 yesterday). Must be getting caught up! I did toss and turn last night - think it is thought of getting the heavy laundry done and going back to the park in Salome. I was thinking Sunday but then I looked at the extended forecast this morning. Weather isn't going to stay as warm as I thought so Tuesday will be soon enough.

Nancy, I have to have my drawers and shelves lined as well. I always used left over wallpaper until recently.

Red, I think your V Day gift tops my sister's. Her significant other gave her a pink tool belt, bag and gloves!!

Certainly enjoy reading of GTGs and wishing those on the road safe travels plus a good day for everyone.

i like your Valentine's Day gift, Red! How great to have a husband who gives you laughter! :D

Dawn, I hope the pain goes away as the day goes on. I'll bet the facetime will help with that.

I'm doing some shopping with Brother-in-law this afternoon. It's nice to have another retiree in the family!

Good morning all :D

Yep, gtg with Red!!! Jst finished morning coffee & breakfast in the flesh, thanks to her hospitality! Oh yes, did we have qwite a serprise to find owt we probably crossed paths many times in owr teen years! So mch so, that she asked me to stay the day to discover what else we share in common! She has a great place here. I'm parked in her driveway. She & Tyler came owt this morning, & we had all three dogs making their acqwaintences! Some very hilarios moments--amazing how the 4-leggers get to know each other with snarls & bared teeth, try to befriend each other, then ignore each other!!!

Sarah & Wendy, great to hear of yore relaxing travels! BJ, the technology-deprived panic attack! Irmi, miss yew!!! And thanks for the info on the "2013 travels" in General Talk. That will help, since I've been str-ggling to find ways to let people know I'm in their area

Today's big project: I need to call my AZ/CA peoples! They were expecting me abot the 12th, & here it is the 15th

Y'all have a great day, be safe wherever yew are & get a good start to the weekend!

I had to bring one of the kittens my "friend" talked me into taking to the vet at 8:00 this morning. Wednesday I saw him on the porch with mud all on one side like he had laid down in a mud puddle. I didn't pay much attention to him, just thought he had been playing with his brother. When I went to feed Wednesday night he could hardly walk. Wednesday night he laid on the couch on a pillow all night. I could tell he was hurting some because he didn't want to be picked up. Thursday morning he was feeling better but our vet is off on Thursday so couldn't bring him until this morning. I had to leave him to be x-rayed. Poor Snowball, if he didn't have bad luck he wouldn't have any luck at all. When he was about 6 weeks old I found him with a bad abscess in one of his front legs. The vet said that it had gone into the bone and he might lose his leg. He got over the abscess but had a permanent limp. Waiting to see what the vet finds.

Red, your present reminds me of the saddle I got for Christmas one time. Funny thing is, it fit my DH, not me. Glad you are having a GTG with Carol. I really enjoyed mine.

Carol, you might have to move your ETA because there are more sisters in Texas.

Sharon, I told Carol you were in CA and how much fun we have when you come to Louisiana.

Sarah, I'm so glad you and Wendy are having a good trip. It sounds like you are finally getting comfortable with your motorhome and enjoying it.

No sun here in Jupiter, Florida, either. It rained hard most of yesterday with winds that shook my motorhome. The rain is a little less today, but still too wet to go out in other than something like taking out my trash, which I need to do soon.

So it looks like this is another quiet day of catching up on work.

Baked some more ribs yesterday, so I have those for dinner. Got to start eating the stuff in my freezer because it is getting out of control. I must think I need food for a month when I shop! Either that or I need to stop shopping when I am hungry.

Good day, all.
