Flying J truckstops

One of my last collection calls was to a woman who was just over the edge of 3 payments past due. Talked to her for a little while and found out that she worked for a Flying J truckstop. I have no idea what her job was? But she was telling me something that knocked my socks off.

Flying J had filed for Chapter 11. She stated that she got paid every two weeks and that her last four paychecks had ended up bouncing. She was still working for them but was scared to death. She said one of the reasons was that the J was supplying gas for her car free and supplying 2 meals a day. She said for employees that had a family at home that they were sending meals home with them.

Now reading my newsletter I have come across this. Sad, not really for the owners of the J but for all the ordinary, regular folk who work for them.

What a shame. Although I have never hauled my trailer to a Flying J as yet, I always stop at them on my way to FL in my truck as I love their buffets. I am so hoping they can hang on.

Things are just getting way too scary out there now.

oh my goodness, I certainly hope they can restructure and hang on. I've always
liked their buffet and their shopping area too.
