RUCKUS IN THE MOUNTAINS AUG.4--AUG.11 2013!!

It is boondocking, I have water available for jugs, a porta potty on the site, plenty of shelter in case of rain, a party barn with an extra refrigerator, paper plates and plastic silverware (although it is helpful if everybody brings their own eating utensils to the feasts we always have!) grocery stores within about 10 miles, plenty of sites to visit, plenty of trails to hike and mountains, too, if you are so inclined, lots of water to kayak and paddle, loads of outdoor propane grills, a huge firepit for night-time sitting arounds, tons of ripe blueberries to pick until you founder, bugs are sort of waning,( but bring insect repellant anyway!) my own pond and leanto and cabin, and more!

I will send (include) a link to my website right here. If you can't access the pages with directions, let me know and I can copy and paste them to you in a private message. I will have new orange surveyors' tape streamers at the end of the driveway to make it more visible, and I have lifted the power lines that cross the driveway with a long pole. There should be no problem with clearance in here. The driveway is a bit rough, but just go slowly----it smoothes out once you get in here!

Donna, as long as you have a generator to charge your batteries, run the microwave, etc., and are conservative with your water use & holding tank capacities, you should be good for boondocking.

Sounds like so much fun. Any time food is mentioned it sounds like fun. Our plans are for New England and we will be in the Aidirondecks so I hope we can be in your area for the Ruckus. As the dates get closer we'll know for sure. We would boondock - don't want to miss any fun.

Just bumping this up so nobody forgets. I am in the process of getting the property ready. I haven't heard from anyone about using the Wilmington/Lake Placid KOA over the mountain from here, but that is a neat place with lots to do in that area, in case many are more interested in that location. But I need to know soon so I could set aside some sites if that should be the case. I think we should all be just fine right here, as long as you have generators to keep your batteries charged. It rarely ever gets hot enough to need Air conditioning here, but microwaving is good. I have decided to not do my surgery for another year, so no need to plan around that, My only other dates are bluegrass festivals both here in upper NY and in VT across Lake Champlain.
