Can't believe I beat Lori to MC. Hope she's sleeping in and the sultan is walking Spinner.

Got very lucky yesterday about my awning damage. Called insurance Friday to file a claim but they said Monday before they could send someone out. Then a mobile repair guy who was in the park for someone else was able to repair the damaged arms for $150 less than my deductible would have cost me. I am happy with that.

Having left over rolls for breakfast then getting dressed and heading out to hike a trail at the Cedar Key Scrub nature area. One geocache and possible bird sightings. Found a couple of fellow hikers/bikers in the camp so will be glad to have some company. Tomorrow I leave and move north to a county park in Sopchoppy. Have been enjoying my Florida Odyssey but promised the grands I would be there for spring break to take them camping.

Good morning, Carolb, Horizon seeker & all who will follow,
Hope everyone is ok after the storms.
Took the van back yesterday - really hard to leave her this time. :( Only another month or so & I'll keep her in the driveway again ready to head out whenever I can. Super windy on the way over there - not sure how you all handle it on trips - I'd be tempted to just stop & wait it out, but is that really possible?

Carol, good to hear you've had a good time with your sisters - from both families (blood & RV). :D Keep us informed of your stopping places as you travel west - hopefully it will be full of gtgs across the states.
HorizonSeeker, good news on your awning - so much easier than working thru insurance. :D
Ava, I hope you had the best birthday ever.
Need to head down to the office - board meeting this week so lots of airport runs & long days.

Hope everyone has a safe & relaxing day.

Yep...got to sleep in til 7:30am...It's raining here...and Ernie took Spinner for the morning walk about 4:30-5am....It's 8:15am now, so he'll want another walk in a little bit...I just love how Spinner decides when Ernie needs to be the "morning walk person"....he gets right up to the top of the bed and growls, softly, with a couple of low woofs, and a paw on Ernie's face....basically, saying, "It's your turn, Dad"......  With me, Spinner just stands by the bed and looks at me....after I'm up, he waits til I turn on the coffee, brush my teeth, then he goes to the door and waits.... ;) Unless, he really has to go, then all bets are off.... One of us better move fast cause he'll start barking....   But he's a good "Pupper" and can you tell....we kinda' like him and spoil him rotten..... ;)

So the rain is to be here for 3 days, so kinda' stuck doing inside stuff.....Ernie will do his daily trip to the store for whatever....and I'll putzy around with daily stuff and work on craft stuff....and of course, watch TV.....

A new pot of coffee is ready with some sweet rolls for ya'll....

Have a great day!! :D

Good Morning everyone,

Wow, lots of people up and at em this morning already. Well, I've been up, just busy doing some other things. Like making breakfast  Found out that our Council on Aging is closed today, so no gym class. That's fine, cause with the rain and freezing rain we had during the night, everything is covered in ice out there and forecast for today calls for rain mix changing to snow and windy. So will be good day to stay inside. Every school system from the mddle of the state north into the eastern U.P. is closed. Don't know what's downstate as we don't hear about that area. Out of our TV stations coverage range.

Thanks for putting out the sweet rolls Lori. Sorry, but I will take a pass on them today. Not in my diet plans :) This mornings weigh in shows 5 pounds gone now. Onward and up ward. Kathleen, that's great that you are down 13 so far. Great work. Okay, so who else is dieting and losing? Fess up. Will keep us on on track and give us all some encouragement here.

Painted the bathroom yesterday and will go fiinish up some minor touchups here and there this morning. Then put everything back and give it a good cleaning. So that will be done. Then tomorrow will give the house a good cleaning as i have Real Estate agents coming in on Wednesday to look it over and give me a CMA to see what the prices could be now, if I decide to ist. Now that I"ve painted the bathroom, it makes me want to kep going and do my living room and hallway. First things first.

See there was a big tornado in Hattiesburg, MS. Hope none of our forum sisters were in the area. All signs that spring isn't far away. Even here, we are getting rain/snow mixes ocassionally and the sun is warmer. A few more weeks and winter will be broken. Oh, it can take time for spring to get here of course, but it's just the thought.

Was reading about everybody's summer travel plans in General Talk. Looks like a lot of you are heading west. Wish i could join you, but that's at least another year away. Might have to have a GTG out there somewhere from the looks of it. Maggie, hope I can have a mini GTG with you while you are here in MI. Last I heard it was a debate between Petoskey and Charlevoix. So where is it going to be?

Enough chatter for this morning, want to get moving on that bathroom. Have a wonderful day all.

Stay safe Red - it's crazy out there! Just south of me the freeway was closed with a 4-car pileup. I can hear the rain on the roof but I have no windows in my office :( :( :(

I had a horrible headache yesterday. I think it was part dehydration and part too much salt - wouldn't have anything to do with the tequila. Actually it didn't pertain to the alcohol. And in spite of my gorging on chips and the salt on the rim of my margarita, I did pretty good with my meal Saturday night. And I abstained on the pretzel and peanuts that Red was willing to share. Yeah, I'm working to lose weight as well. I'm down about 11 pounds since the first of the year.

Sue - it's going to be Petoskey. And I do hope to spend some time with you while there. I'm going to be in the area for a week and a half. I also have friends in Detroit area that I was hoping to spend time with but not sure how that's going to work out, especially since now it looks like I'm going to drive rather than fly.

Good morning everyone. I am really moving slow here. Got up about 6:30 and have been drinking my coffee and just sitting around. Still in my pajamas and robe. Going to drink one more cup of coffee and then get my day going. Barb Zee and I were going to go to Lowe's this morning to get some things we both need, but during our Facetalk, we decided we both needed a stay at home day. I have a lot of housework and laundry I need to get caught up on. I have not stopped going since I hit the Florida state line, it feels like. I am going to enjoy a day just puttering around here.

Lori, I am glad Spinner decided it was the Sultan's turn to take him out and you got to sleep in.

Red, I hope all your tests come back good too. Enjoy your visit with your friends.

Sue, you have been busy. Would love to see pics of the new color in the bathroom.

Carolb, I really enjoyed getting to meet you while we were both here in FL. Stay safe on your travels back west and hopefully you will have many mini GTG's on the way back.

Maggie, hope your headache is gone now. Congrats on the weight loss. I need to start working on that pretty soon too. I have definitely been eating more since we have been in FL.

Well, going to drink my last cup of coffee for the morning. Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I would call these past couple of days "The Lost Weekend" if I am remembering a movie or something from the past about an alcoholic binge of some sort! The kids and Kathy and I took a cab out to dinner Saturday evening to a local place, and then took a cab to the Orena Grill and Bar somewhere down here. We debauched ourselves with various and assumdry beverages (including Comfy Coolers which I invented as a bar tender many years ago), played pool, ping pong, chatted with old friends. and lost all track of time and minds!

Yesterday, Sunday, was a day of recovery, with each of us getting up at odd times to take in some nourishment and nurse wicked hangovers! It has been a long while since I experienced one of those, and I don't wish to make it a habit!

My fun for the day yesterday was Skyping Orion and his parents on and off----I cannot believe how fast he is growing up. I really miss him and them.

Today I visit my skin doc for a total body exam, a look at my raw and sore and burned legs from the radiation, and see what's next on the docket. Then Kathy and I hope to ride our bikes to the pool for a bit of swimming and limited sunshine for both of our cancer-prone bodies!

I saw pics of that tornado activity yesterday, and as mentioned, sure hope nobody we know was harmed in that mess. Weahter has been interesting this winter, to say the least!

I hope this Monday finds you all doing something fun. The weather here is another picture-perfect day with a nice breeze and lots of sunshine. Sigh----this sunny FL retirement is amazing!

Happy travels!

Morning, all. I have been up for a while. I've had a little breakfast and got a little work done. I just got back from taking my laundry down to the campground laundromat. I have been to a lot of campgrounds over the last almost-year, and this is one of the biggest ones yet, AND with the largest and absolutely cleanest laundry I have yet seen. 8 washers and 8 dryers, and all very clean, which can really be a problem, as you all have experienced!

I am right in the middle of West Palm Beach in a county park--John Prince. Some sites are almost full-time and others are limited to two weeks. The longterm sites are full hookup and a bit tighter, but I am happy with electric and water and a bit more space. Asphalt roads and pads, which is nice, and on a lake, which is also nice.

I bought a magazine rack I am trying to get installed. My cousin who lives down here loaned me his electric drill and I managed with dull bits to get a couple of holes drilled in it to match the holes where the dinette bench used to be. Should be able to use them easily, but need slightly shorter screws than I had. Don't want to go right through the outside wall!

Will finish my laundry and get some more grading work done today, then leave tomorrow for my next stop. Not too far away, and have cousins up there as well--brother and sister.

Good Morning from Indio,

Sharon is on her way home - good to know I'll see her again in a few weeks! We enjoyed the Fantasy Springs buffet last night and a little gambling.

LeRoy and I will be riding the Palm Springs tram later this morning. After grocery shopping tomorrow morning, I think L will go back to our winter park. I will spend a few days in Quartzsite boondocking and doing major laundry (bedding, etc) before going back to the park drama.

Hope all are having a good day.

Lori, I see I'm not the only one with a DH that goes to the store every day. I think they get cabin fever. Mine just called from town wanting to know if it was raining here, it's raining so hard in town he can hardly see. We are on the very bottom edge of the big area of rain and only got a little rain so far. It looks like it is training to the North East. Hope a front doesn't push it to the South before it gets out of here. There are going to be some wet parades and parade goers today.

Maggie, hope you are over your headache. Tequila and some wines give me a headache. I did finally quit ordering salt on the rim. One of the local Mexican restaurants has the best Mango Margaritas. Between the headaches and the DUI laws I seldom order a drink. I have a dinner meeting once a month and think if I order a drink at 6:00 I should be ok by 8:30 when the meeting is over.

I think I found 3 or 4 of the pounds that someone lost. My son is staying here until March 1 and I have been doing more cooking. I don't have any excuse for not not walking, we have a treadmill but it is so boring.

Just a quick good afternoon from the sunny Keys. We are off to meet Nan in a little while.
Have to start north on Wednesday. It will be a very slow northward move for me - drag my heels as long as I can. Not so cold (50s for high) at home but they are having flooding rains and high winds again.
Martha - Thanks for the tip on not leaving swimwear in RV long term cause that is exactly what I'd planned to do.

Ah, all the talk of hangovers and drinking Margaritas makes me long for the days when I could party. Soos, sounds like you really did the evening up right, good thinking to take a cab. I'm good for almost a whole beer when we have dinner out and usually have a very small, think shot glass, of wine around noon. If I drink wine much past three I get a headache. But, I used to partake in much less moderation and drink of preference was JB Scotch and water. YUM...Good for all of you who are loosing weight!! Martha, I like to listen to a book on tape when I walk sort of helps with the boredom and makes the time go faster.
I mention the other day I had what I thought were bites on my legs, well woke up this morning to more of them on a very tender part of my chest, under my arms and on both sides of my waist. Went to the doctor who said they looked like Hives or Shingles but that they had never seen Shingles on both sides of the body, so then said maybe bites :? :? She looked at the ones that are almost healed on my legs and just shook her head. So, I have something that itched really bad, but now sort of hurt. Online images of hives look more like what they are to me but...I just want them to go away!!
Sarah from the way the weather sounds at your home think you need to take a really long slow route heading back!
