Postby rvgrammy1953 » Sun Feb 10, 2013 7:00 am

Good morning.... :)

Dark during the AM walk with Spinner...but at least I got to sleep til 5:30am.....ate too much stuff with sugar yesterday...my eye lids are a little puffy this morning...or maybe it was salt....We had a campground supper last night with lots of good stuff to eat and of course, I had to taste everything.... and am still full so it's just coffee for me right now... ;)

Really enjoyed the underwater photos from the gals in the Keys....sure looks like they are having a grand time....

Not much on the books today, so will work more on the cross-stitch and just be lazy today....

Coffee and Pineapple upside down cake are on the counter for ya'...

Have a great day, all....

Lori that sure sounds good for breakfast. I have some cinnamon rolls here. Don't you just love pot luck dinners. Lots of great food usually. They have pot lucks here at this park and I am thinking if I slow down enough, I may have to go to one.

Got my hair highlighted yesterday. I really like it.

Going to go pick up Irmi and Steve for a lunch GTG here. Barb Zee and I were going to go halves on the cost of the lunch meat, but it all looked so good and I bought a lot, so I am not going to let Zee pay for any of it. We were arguing about that last night and she said she was going to tell you all I went back on my word by not letting her pay for any of it. I am getting the drop on her by telling you first.

I have been looking at folding adult tricycles. The mother and father of my friend who camp hosts at Lake Murray have one each and I have wanted one for many, many years after seeing theirs. I am not a regular bike rider after going face first through gravel down a hill while my bike stayed at the top of the hill when I was 17. I was really lucky there was a plastic surgeon on duty at the ER I was taken to that day. He worked for over 4 hours on my face alone. It would have been great to have this at every state park we have stayed at. I am not about to pay the Camping World price for one, but have found one at WalMart for about $100 less. I am just not sure I can really justify buying one. I will probably get one because I keep thinking how handy this would be at Lake Murray this coming summer.

Need to get another cup of coffee. I hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning everyone. We are suppose to get another inch if rain today. It is warm and muggy just waiting to let loose. Then to be followed by some pretty cold wether this week.

Had a great time with Maggie and Mark at the RV show last night. (Pix posted on Houston RV Show thread).

We went to Papasitos for dinner afterward and had margaritas!! Ole!! I didn't sleep well cuz DH thinks he wants a MH now and actually put a deposit on one subject to test driving. I like my Montana. He says he doesn't like towing it...too stressful. But is driving a Class A any less stressful??? Bottom line for me? I don't care if it is is towed or self powered as long as we use it and often :P

Dawn, I think you will enjoy have a bike when you are at you camp host job. They are fun and great exercise to boot :P

Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Pineapple upside-down cake! Now that's breakfast!

A folding trike sounds like a great idea. My brother-in-law has an adult trike (not folding), and he loves it.

A quiet day here -- getting groceries before the promised rain arrives.

Good morning all,
Been up a few hours already. Sun is just peeking out from behind the clouds - looking forward to the 50s today! Hope everyone in the path of the rain & snow to the east & south stay safe & warm.

Dawn, a good friend of mine has a trike - you can see him going all around on that thing. He loves it! He did upgrade to a motor-assisted one a couple of years ago as the hills here got to be a bit much. The only thing I'd wonder about is how heavy they are to load up. Just looked on Amazon & the shipping weight was 70 lbs on one, the shipping weight on the Walmart one was 52 lbs -interesting that they don't post the weight of the bike itself. :x

Going to enjoy my van some more today - even driving it around town is fun! :D Brought in the windshield shades to work on a bit (need a couple more suction cups to stay on better). Wanted to put shelves in the closet but don't think that'll work.. and need to replace the carbon monoxide monitor - bought one but the front won't stay closed. argh  will take it back & get a different brand.

Chris, Is Papasitos similar to Ninfa's? Gosh we loved that place - of course that was a long time ago - not sure if its still as good. Haven't been down there for years...maybe if there's a GTG in the future, I can run down there... ;)

Well, I'd better get in gear... Everyone stay safe...

Good Morning to All - yum pinapple upside down cake is my MOST favorite kind of cake.
Not much going on here in Mazatlan - at least not for us - we avoid the part of town where Carnaval is like a plague -
love all the underwater photography - are those underwater cameras?
Bill bought us bikes a few years ago - I told him I couldn't ride a bike - never could - I could go straight but if I had to turn I was in trouble. He didn't believe me until I hit a chain link fence - bruised my whole leg. He sold the bike. A trike I might be able to use.
Today we'll probably just watch a soccer game. And tomorrow the jeep has a mechanic appointment.
Everyone traveling drive safe and every one parked enjoy the day, food and company.

Good Sunday morning to everyone!

We are sitting at the KOA in Wekiva Springs enjoying being in the RV. Our one year warranty will expire in the next month or so, so we wanted to take it out and test everything to make sure everything works. Plus we are still learning about it.

We had a real learning moment Friday night. When we got here, we did not turn on the propane since we were going out to meet some friends and go to dinner. That night the temperature cooled off considerably and it got very cool in the RV. I had a light blanket on me on the bed and I was cold. Terri had 2 small throws on her on the couch but neither of us wanted to go outside and turn the propane on. When we shiveringly got up Saturday morning, we started the coffee and then had a ‘V8’ moment. Our new RV’s heater is EITHER electric or propane. In just a few minutes our 59 degree temperature warmed up to a wonderful 75.

Today we will close it up and take it back to it’s parking spot since Terri has doctor’s appointments everyday next week but we have several trips planned in the coming months and are looking forward to them.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day and stays safe!!
Bonnie

Rain here this morning, I was all dressed for church and as I started out the door it was really coming down hard so, here I am. It thundered earlier and Winnie, who never ventures far from the kitchen just in case someone decides to eat, went and laid down in the bathroom where we go when there are tornado warnings. I really feel sorry for the people out east, that is way too much snow!!
No plans for the day, this is the time of year that winter starts to get on my last nerve!
I rode a bicycle when I was a kid but mine was so heavy and I was always so little I never rode it much. We lived outside the city limits and there were no sidewalks, just dirt or shale roads which made it even more difficult.
The pictures from the Keys are wonderful, looks like they are having a wonderful adventure.

I'm not used to making it to the morning coffee, so thought I'd drop in to say hi. Dreary day here in AL. I'm feeling lazy and thinking of watching a movie or reading a book. I really need to go through my files and shred stuff. This would be a good opportunity. Paper is so heavy and we all know we don't need the added, useless weight in our RVs. I have no duties at the campground until after training on Thurs. I will be ready to work by then.

Yesterday there was a "Cupid's Undie Run" here in Minneapolis where everyone had to run in their undies! Luckily, it was 38 degrees yesterday!

We are in the midst of a snowstorm here. I was sent to a different salon (same owner) that is 20 miles from me. We had freezing rain this morning so the drive there was a bit harrowing. Used my 4WD all the way there. They sent me home an hour later because of the bad roads and I lived the furthest away. It was much worse driving home and visibility was down to about a block. There is a big hill going up into my apartment complex and there was a car trying to get up the hill but couldn't. They finally gave up. Luckily, with 4WD I was able to make it up with no problem. I think we are supposed to get about 8-10 inches by tomorrow. Still not nearly as bad as out east tho! 3 feet is unfathomable, even my MN standards!

I have some Monkey Bread here I bought at Caribou Coffee (the midwest version of Starbucks), but that pineapple upsidedown cake sounds wonderful too!

Red, didn't you just buy that truck and 5th wheel? If you sell/trade that now, you will take a huge hit on it. With a MH you won't have any other transportation for sightseeing unless you get a toad, and then you are right back to pulling something again. It would be an expensive trade-off. Just my humble opinion...

Guess I will do some laundry today and maybe take a nap. Got my cozy little space heater fireplace going.

Hope you all have a great day!
