Cold Saturday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cold Saturday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Sat Feb 09, 2013 7:51 am

Good Morning from the cold 45th,

We are on the backside of the clipper system that came through here on Thursday night and is now pummeling the Northeast. Had about 4 inches of snow here but the central part of the lower got dumped with as much as a foot in some places. Now it's
-12 out there :| The coldest it's been here this winter so far. Hope all those in the Northeast as keeping snug and warm while the blizzard rages outside and that you aren't a victim of a power outage.

Carolb, I'll bet you are glad that you are in the sunny south. I didn't realize that you were staying down there this long. Had just thought you were only going down for the GTG and then back home. Are you planning on going way west for awhile yet?

Dawn, sounds like you and BrabZee have really hit if off and have become good friends. Isn't that great. I can tell that you are really enjoying your new life on the road. Meeting new people and seeing new places.

Judy, sounds like you are really busy with your class work etc. Well, good way to spend the winter and have fun on the side as well. Beats sitting in the condo looking out at the cold and snow.

Kathleen, glad to hear that youa and your daughter are doing well after your injections. Hope they work for both of you.

Otherwise sounds like life is just rolling along normally for everybody. Red is having some fickle weather. Getting to be that time of year. We are supposed to be nice today and clouding up tomorrow, with rain/snow showers cooming on Monday and then back to snow showers on Tuesday  as we roll on toward March, the weather here starts to roller coaster too. A few more weeks and then the seasonal change will start in with spring trying to outdo winter and making for some interesting weather.

The girls are both snoozing in here, neither interested in going out in the cold. Ms. Tessa is doing okay. Her latest report showed improbed BUN and CREA counts, although they are still in the high range, more the low side of the high range almost. She does have a bacterial infection, the one that's been coming and going for a few months now and is back on antibiotics which have dulled her appetite again. Can't win sometimes.

Have decided to repaint my small bathroom off my master bedroom. Picked out a color called Balsam Fir, kind of a mid tone green I guess you would call it. Bathroom is decorated in a Pine Cone theme and this is kind of a lodge green color. Will see how it looks after it's done. First I thought it might be too dark, but now think it will be okay. So it's off to the paint store this morning to get the actual paint as I was just using a sample yesterday. Will work on that probably tomorrow and Monday. It's a small room, so doesn't take long to paint. Just taping is what takes up the time. And removing a border up over my shower. So I have started my spring cleaning/rejuvenation project. Want to get things done by end of March.

Tree service guys were here the other day and hauled out two more trees, trimmed way up in my big pine out front to get out the cracked limbs and also hauled off a pulled out tree root?stump left from one of the trees that came down in the December storm. So some more money shelled out for damaged trees from that storm. I"ve lost about a dozen trees, and the tops out of two of them. There are still a couple of more needing cutting up, but will deal with that in spring. That storm really created the business for the tree service companies up here.

Wel, enough chatter for this morning. Time to be off and reading some more. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Be talking to you later :)

Good morning Sue & everyone!

Sue, it sounds like you have gotten your trees cleared from the storm you had in December and now are in the painting mode on your master bathroom. Things are starting to come together for you and you can decide if you want to put your house up for sale or what other plans you may want to make.

Went to bed with the windows open and now the windows are shut and the heater is on. The sun is up and helping to warm things up, and the weather people are saying we'll be in the mid to upper 70's later, so it'll be another wonderful day to enjoy the FL weather.

Coffee, chocolate milk and toast are ready, so please help yourself.

I've been enjoying the pictures of the ladies in the Keys and reading about those with their new RV's, getting RV's out of storage and renovation of RV's. So much is going on with everyone! It'll be a quiet day here in Ocala for us. I started a new book by Janet Evanovich last night, so will probably sit outside and enjoy that today. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

Sue, you really must be getting cabin fever up north, you posted your good morning news in both the campfire and the morning coffee thread. :) Me, I barely make it to one thread. Just letting folks know that if you don't hear from Liz, Nan and I, it means that the sharks got us. We are heading out to Bahia Honda State Park to take advantage of one of their snorkeling trips. The time frames works and keeps the puppers from hurting themselves with too much crossing their legs waiting for our return.

Hope everyone's day brings them a smile or two and those of you in the NW, the lights stay on and the heat is running....

Morning all,

A cloudy saturday morning. Hoping the sun comes out to dry up the lawn...then I will mow.

Have a great day!

Good morning Sue, Irmi, Tina, Carolyn and all who follow.

Sue, I am really glad to hear about Ms. Tessa's latest test results. That color sounds pretty for your bathroom. Be sure and post pics when you are finished so we can see it.

Irmi, glad you are having a quiet day. I am glad it's going to warm up too. I went to sleep with the A/C still set, not the furnace and it was a little chilly for a while. Getting warmer now.

Tina, enjoy the snorkeling. Be sure and take more pictures. I really like the ones you put on your blog.

Carolyn, have fun mowing. I always like to mow. Didn't get to do it much, because Chuck normally did that.

I am going to have a pretty busy day today again. Need to get my housework done, then need to get my hair done today. Way too much gray is showing now. After that, need to get the fixin's for the lunch tomorrow with Barb, Irmi and Steve. Planning on picking Irmi and Steve up around 11. Anyone in the Ocala, The Villages or Wildwood area is more than welcome to join us. Just PM me and I will give you directions or get directions on where to pick you up. Not sure who all is in this area. Need to go by Macy's cosmetic department too. Finishing up my last cup of coffee and then going to hit it at a dead run.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

It's overcast and 60 here this morning. I'm surprised that my DH hasn't started mowing yet because the clover is getting tall. I need to prune my roses before they get too many buds. I hate to cut off the limbs with the buds. I have been planting bulbs for years and I actually had some bloom this year. Last year Walmart had some Daffodils blooming in pots so I planted some of them. Will have to watch and see if they have some this year.

Our neighbor is messing with his cows which drives our cow dog wild. If he would work for anyone but my DH I would let him go help. He will come and sit for me but that's about the extent of what I can tell him to do.

I picked up my motorhome yesterday and brought it to the Ford place. My son and I went to Walmart just killing time waiting on my service. They had cleared big aisles coming in one door, across the back and down the other side. I noticed there were a lot of elementary age kids in there. While we were waiting to check out a high school marching band came in and marched around the store 3 times playing music. Guess it was some kind of Mardi Gras parade for the school kids. I just can't get away from the parades. The barricades are up on the parade routes so that makes people use the other main streets. OMG the traffic was bad. I made the mistake of wanting to go to Target. When I got out of there I got out of town as fast as I could.

Tima and friends look out for the sharks. I would like to try snorkeling again. I tried on a cruise and got salt water in my eyes first thing. My eyes kept watering so much I couldn't see. There was a heated, indoor swimming pool at the college I went to. I swam laps several times a week and even passed the Red Cross lifesaving class. About all I can do now is dog paddle.

Good Morning

I've been experiencing antique computer problems/ interface to this parks Internet. Think resolved now.

Sadly, my BIL passed away yesterday morning. Given where I am it would be very difficult for me to make it up to GA for the first memorial service so family and I decided I would not cut my trip short. A second service will be in AL in April followed by scattering ashes over Guntersville Lake. I will attend that one.

I have been learning so much and becoming more comfortable with Magic on this trip. When I got hooked up here, turned water on to get drink for Nicky. The kitchen faucet spigot blew off spraying water everywhere. A few months ago, I would likely have freaked out. I just muttered a few unkind words and figured out how to put it back. Also realizing that even if I never learn to back up by myself, I can still go camping. Except for a few cold nights, the FL weather has been post card perfect.

Now I need to learn to pack a little better. Discovered I arrived with half a swim suit. While the others are off playing today, I need to be doing some house cleaning anyway. One person and one dog can make a bigger mess than I had expected.

Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. Forced myself out of bed this morning when all I wanted to do was roll back over and sleep in. Went grocery shopping first thing cuz the cupboards are bare. I have not gone shopping since we returned from our trip on Mon. this afternoon we are going down to the RV show. Planning to meet up with Maggie at the show. FUN :P

You don't have to worry about sharks as much as the barracuda at Bahia Hondo. They love shiny objects and I almost lost an ear lobe when a barracuda thought my tiny stud earring was one of those shiny little bait fish. Several stitches to fix the ear lobe. Just remember, no shiny objects :P :P and you will really love the reefs. :P

I have the top half of swim suit so if I get desperate enough could probably get by with pair of shorts for bottom.

Still here in Slab City with Anita and Donna (ryegal). Showing Donna around the forum and how to post a picture. 3G is really slow here so we'll see how this works.

Sarah, I have left swim suits hanging in my RV closet so I would have one if needed. When I went to wear one it was like my dry rotted band aids. Heat and spandex don't go well together. One year Macy's had marked some of the bathing suits down so much I bought 3 just alike except for the trim color. Now if I can just remember to pack one.
