It was home again home again jiggedy jig today. I really hated leaving the Hillsborough Campsite and all the wild women and men who camped there this past week!
GTGs are much too short, especially for those of us hauling trailers who have to stow, stow, stow, pack, pack, pack, hitch, hitch hitch, and haul, haul, haul......not to mention dump! Yes, I did it-----I dumped this morning as Kathy and I decided to use the REAL pooper instead of the porta potty for the past two days, thinking we couldn't possibly fill that black tank before we left. Will I do that again? I will have to think long and hard about it. If there is no sewer connection right at my site, I think I would not as the agony of not knowing if it will fill and need dumping before I left would give me the intestinal problems that would surely fill it prior to leaving time!
We had such a fantastic time down there!! So wonderful to meet with all those super women and a few men who really love camping, eating, sitting around campfires, eating, chatting, walking, kayaking, dog walking, biking, eating, and sharing horror stories!
Thank you all for being such wonderful people, all of you who were able to make the GTG. Beginning tomorrow, I will be open to any and all suggestions for the next year's FL GTG, both dates and place. Some said they would like going back to that place, others have said we should explore some place new. I am game for either, but need input from all. There are pros and cons to each plan.
As for next summer's Ruckus in the Mountains, I will be calling a couple of local campgrounds to see if we could get a group discount for some 30, or so, rigs, along with a discounted pass to visit all the Olympic Venues that Kathy says she should be able to get us. I will post dates and places as soon as I do a bit of research.
I loved seeing old friends and meeting new ones, and hope the rest of you had even half as much fun as I had. Time for bed now, however! Stay in touch, all of you!
