Destinations for summer 2013???

Postby Redwahine » Tue Feb 05, 2013 9:45 am

If you know or are thinking about destinations for this spring and summer, lets see where everyone is going? Or thinking of going. That way it easy to have a gtg :P I am looking at the map and trying to decide where we should go for the next long trip this summer!! I have never been to Yellowstone. So maybe we'll head North??

April 4-11 ORS GTG Death Valley
4-26 to 5-6 Maui
until about July 8 Time in Orting, Port Angeles and other areas of Washington
July 18-21 Estes Park, Colorado family reunion
Manhattan KS for awhile (older daughter lives in area)
head to New England and eventually fall colors (no route planned) but vicinity of NYC early September in case I get on RV tour - 4th on standby list
to Florida until after January GTG

I am headed to Yellowstone for August 2-16, then on to Tetons for a week, and finally to Glacier National Park.

I plan to spend most of July in South Dakota, and maybe North Dakota. Before that, not sure, but will be headed from Michigan and Ohio.

By September I will probably be closer to California to visit my kids.

Plan to spend next winter in Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico, but no firm plans yet.

I'll leave here for the ORS gtg in Death Valley. Then will meander up the coast.

End of May through Labor Day, Valdez, Alaska.

Fall is up for grabs, might work Amazon in Nevada. Then intend to go to Baja.

Hope you'll make it to Valdez for a visit :) And I highly recommend the LuLu Belle tour, of course.

Well, let's see.....
March 1-31 Hardeeville, SC (between Hilton Head, SC and Savannah, GA)
April 1 for about a week at CG near Ft. Lee, VA (Women's Army Corps Museum is now located there after being moved from Ft. McClellan, AL a few years ago. I joined the Army when there was still the WACs... ;) )

Slow travels (maybe Williamsburg, VA for a week) then into our "Home Base" CG near Gettysburg, PA to spoil Grand-daughter, Ava, visit relatives, and to do the doctor thing at the VA. (Yearly checkups, etc...  )

Mid-June approx. heading to the Alleghany Mountains with a stop at our RV Dealer (Lewistown, PA area) for warranty work and maintenance) then Port Allegany, PA (yes, the town is spelled different than the mountains & the river... ;) ) to visit more relatives (my side of the family).

Aug.5 -13 - Coming Home Rally at Open Range RV Factory, Shipsewana,IN....

Then mosey around, Maybe make a stop to visit with Mitch & Abby, go to Gatlinburg, TN to visit friends and do Dollywood... ;)

After that, slowly head back to GA or FL....should be Sept. or Oct. by then....

We will probably leave Florida mid-May. No schedule, but want to hit these areas: Brunswick, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Virginia, Hershey, PA, New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, Boston Massachusetts, Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Adirondecks, Blue Ridge Parkway, Nashville then back to Florida. Plan to see some autumn leaves so will probably be back in Florida by the end of September. Starting to work on routing and details. Sometimes the planning is as much fun as the trip. We rarely make reservations and usually drive about 250 miles a day.
