Monday Bowl Hangovers?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Soos, why are you not having the Ruckus at your place this year? Too much work?

The SB game was good. I switched over to the Puppy Bowl during the power outage, but watched the rest of the game, which got much more exciting after the power got fixed.

I have a ton of laundry to do as well. Need to tackle that today. I have tomorrow off from work but no plans yet. Wish it was nice out so I could do something fun outside. Thursday I will be going to the RV Show in Minneapolis, so that will be fun! Do they let you take pictures at those shows?

Hope you all have a good day! :D

I've taken pictures at the Houston show - which is this weekend as well.

I get tickled when I see Dannon or Yoplait "Greek" yogurt. It's not true Greek yogurt. Granted it tastes good, but they have added thickeners to give it the texture. True Greek yogurt, whether made from cow's milk or goat's milk, is filtered to remove the excess whey. My boss uses cheesecloth and hangs his over the bath tub. He keeps telling me to make my own. No thank you, I will stick with the Chobani or Fage - although he says the Fage is closer to real Greek yogurt. And FYI - he's from Greece, Mykonos area.

All I know is I can't stand Fage or Chobani Greek yogurt. I'll take Dannon Light and Fit Greek any day. Maybe Kathleen will like it.

I pretty much quit eating yogurt because most is so high in sugar, but couldn't eat the real Greek yogurt either, Sandi. Different tastes for different folks. Seems similar to our discussion over white and dark meat chicken in the recipe section. :-)

I would love to still have it at my place this year, but am wondering if too many rigs might show up this time! I have electricity for the one person I know who needs to have it for her CPAP machine, but others would be boondocking, and I am not sure if we would have more people attend if I made it at a campground where there are hookups?? I just don't know, but my place could probably hold about 10 good-sized rigs in close proximity with generators. I have water, and a dump station is not far at a local state campground, for a fee, probably. The price is right at my place! And I have the facilities to keep it right there. I would love it to stay there, but am not sure just how many would like to come to the Adirondacks. I am open to suggestions and tallies! Of course, I love my campsite the bestest! No work at all as those who come do their own thing as we all did last week down here in FL----wonderful group of campers!

You're right Beth. I only eat white meat. Less fat and calories.

(I don't remember if you have Directv at your home?)

They allow you to change the zip code for vacation. Told them i had a portable dish, but sounded like she didn't know what I was talking about or cared. I gave them the address for the RV park. I asked if there is a limit to how many times I can change the zip code and she said, no. We'll see how it goes. Yes, I had a dish installed at home so I could have the receiver to travel with. By no means morning here, either. Certainly had no hangovers here, but enjoyed the game and final results. Spent a good portion of the day with Dawn to pick up her new to her Fit, but went home in a rental car. I'll let her explain that, but the day was good, nonetheless, spending it with one of our sisters. Google says it's not supposed to be in the 30's here tomorrow when we get up, so that is good news. We should be back in the 80's by Thursday, so I'm looking forward to wearing shorts again.

Barbie, I worry about you & your Dad. I wish I could offer advice but I don't know what to say at this point. Even though my parents are elderly, my Dad is still as frugal now as he was when I was growing up and I hope it stays that way.

Kathleen, happy for your weight loss but sorry Margie is still having problems following surgery.

BJ, I miss your posts.

  Irmi, other than the time I got to spend with you, it has been a very frustrating day for sure.

I called the Honda dealership about noon today to find out if my car was ready to pickup. My yahoo salesman told me they were finishing it up and by the time I got there, it would be ready to pick up. Called Irmi and told her I was on my way to get her. We would go by and pick up the FIT, then drop off the rental car and end up at my rig. We were going to have a glass of wine to celebrate. Got to the dealership only to find out it was not ready and would not be ready until tomorrow. I told them I had to return my rental car today. They said they would put me in a rental car on their dime through Enterprise. I called the office in The Villages where I had rented my car. That guy said to just get a PO from the Honda dealership and he would just switch out the paperwork. The guys at the Honda dealership said they had to deal with the Enterprise office in Ocala. That I needed to turn in the rental car I had there and get another one. Got to the Enterprise office to find out I could stay in the same car. Was just a matter of paperwork change. Don't know why we couldn't have done this over the phone. Also don't know why I was told my car would be ready when I got there. If they haven't called me from the dealership by noon tomorrow, I will call them. When I do go pick it up, going to go by Irmi and Steve's to show them. That will be the best part of all this. Getting to spend time with Irmi and Steve again.

It has also been a very frustrating day dealing with Mom. She was having really bad chest pains on Saturday night from what she said. I asked her why she had not called youngest brother. She said it was because she did not want to be a bother. I told her she would not be bothering brother. What would bother him was if he came in and found her dead because she didn't call and get him to take her to the hospital. Told her I was going to call youngest brother and let him know what was going on. I did. He called her and told her same thing. Apparently he is getting the full Martyr treatment now because he called tonight as we were driving home to vent about how frustrated he was dealing with her. He made the statement that it was like dealing with a child and all she wanted was to be waited on. I apologized to him because he is having to go through this now. He is seeing what I have been dealing with for years. She refuses to do anything for herself. Youngest brother said for me not to worry about her because he would take care of her even if it meant putting her in assisted living facility. She has told him emphatically she does not want to go into assisted living. She tells him she is lonely and that she has been told she is nothing but a bother to her children. That is not what she has been told. She has been told she needs to take some responsibility for her own care if she wants to live by herself. She is reading into that that she is a bother to us. Poor youngest brother!

Well, I am through venting.  Helps to get it off my chest. Thanks for listening y'all.

What a bummer day, Dawn (except for being your sis, Irmi, of course).
Don't know why dealerships don't know when a car will really be ready - that's crazy & why the rental car agency couldn't figure things out without you going over there in person - argh!
Will keep you, your brothers & mom in my prayers. That's a really tough & frustrating situation. It sounds like younger bro is just getting to experience a little of what you've been dealing with for a long time - just try to remember, you've dealt with it & he can for a while. You need a break yourself. :(
