It is so sad that so many people don't live at least some of their dreams.

Very interesting. Now I just need to figure out how to make my remaining life better.

It confirms why I live as I do. Nice when I've been having doubts. Onward!

Another thing I have heard about people saying on their death beds is that they have regrets about the things they didn't do, rather than the things they did do.

So get out your bucket lists and get busy!!

Really good food for thought Mitch. I remember sitting with DH as he was dying and talking about things he wanted me to be sure and do after he was gone. I think he was telling me not to keep waiting for some day. We had talked about "some day" going to see the Panama Canal and of course the some day never came. I went for us a year later. In fact, in a strange way his dying convinced me to start living. I'm with Beth, this is the kind of life that lets you live and recognize the important things in life. Thanks for a good read.

Thanks, Mitch - good article. Having read that and looked at my life as it is now, I don't think I'd have regrets if I died tomorrow. I have been blessed with 12 more years than my mother got and 8 more than DH - so far.

I will always be one who avoids conflict (not sure that was the word they used) to keep the peace - have had to do a lot of that in my family! Parents, siblings, children. Guess I did it with DH, too.

On the good side for me, DH retired at 55 and we got over 3 years of full timing. When he got the cancer death sentence, he commented, 'Well, at least we did that right'! There was much left to do, but at least we didn't totally miss out.
