Come on in and say hello.

Another newbie from Hillbourgh River State Park

Postby riverjewel » Fri Feb 01, 2013 10:33 pm

Hi, my name is Julie. My husband and I also were camping at HRSP were I found myself meeting some of you from the group. You were all so friendly and I quickly thought that I would love to join the group.
I have spent the last 31 years living in FL. We bought our 37ft Montana 5th wheel and 2006 GMC 2500 4x4 diesel truck from a friend in 2009. We really were not ready to retire but with the "fiver" sitting there, we decided to go for it. Last year we sold our home and went full time. However, we did buy a house in Asheville NC for our daughters and some roommates to live in. We put in full hookups and that is our home base. We also own 6 acres in Branford FL, about 45 minutes away from Gainesville. We also have hookups there but, we can't decide if we want to sell or keep it.
We have traveled over 40,000 miles since retiring. My husband loves to travel!! But I miss my women friends and will be happy to make new ones.

Welcome, Julie & hubby.
Looks like you've found the right place. This group is great! Full of caring, laughter - and advice! :D
Sounds like some of us newbies can learn alot from you - so feel free to jump in whenever. I still work but hope to start taking more & more time off to get to some of these GTGs (get togethers).

Hi Julie!

My hubby & I were parked next to you in the park. These GTG's happen all over the country, so keep an eye on the GTG (Get Together) forum to see where others are meeting. It was so nice meeting you & Steve. Enjoy your travels and I hope we're able to meet on the road again.

SO glad you were staying in the right park at the right time. :) As you travel around you can also check out the members map (no ones name goes on the map unless you want it too....) Then as you head out you can PM folks along the way. Some GTGs are big, but many more are small and wonderful fun as our houses on wheels pass along the highways. :)

Thank you everyone! We are often in spots where we can not get Internet. We connect our computers with our cell phone which is a Palm Pilot.

Hi Julie,
Really nice you were at the FL GTG so you already know first hand about GTGs and have met some of the group. Something new is always happening on the Forum. Check it when you have access and post when you can. Do what works best for you.
