February 1st

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

February 1st

Good Morning from the chilly 45th,

Well, where is everybody? I'm up, had a bite to eat, dogs are fed and back in bed having their after breakfast naps  , mother natures is busy outside giving us another shot of cold air and some lake effect snow etc. Nothing major. So U guess you all must be sleeping in this morning. Those from the GTG are all wore out anyway according to wha they have been saying. Sory to hear you all got some bug bites down there. Goes with the territory I guess.

Not much doing aruond these parts right now. Ms. Tessa has her appetite back and is happily chomping up her food these past three days. I'm very pleased with that, but also know that the dreaded renal failure can rear it's head at any time. There is no cure, just keeping her happy and going for as long as I can.

Have been so enjoying seeing all the pictures of the FL GTG and nice to see so many happy smiling faces and of course a few butt shots as well  All those who went kayaking made me wish i had another one. Maybe this summer. The inflatible ones seem so nice and sturdy. Couldn't help but think about you paddling in the river with all the alligators out there and wondering if one has ever taken a chomp out of one of those kayaks.

JudyJB. glad to hear you made it to Key Largo. That's a nice area, been a long time since I have been down there. Hope you get to go see Key West. Dawn is out to another campground and adventure and sounds like Wendy and Sarah are planning on staying around FL for a while too. Carolb and back at sisters, Irmi and Steve back to their winter quarters, guess the rest are still at Hillsborough.

As for me, today is a who knows what I will get into day. Probably work on some sign crafts, should run to town and get some rice for the doggies breakfast/dinners, need to cook up some more ground beef as well and maybe will also make some chili for me today.

Well, this rambling isn't really saying anything, so will get off here and let the rest of you post. Have a wonderful day all and if you are out traveling around, stay safe.

Morning! I tried to sleep in but my mom had other ideas. She forgot the one hour time difference and woke me up when she called. I'm not my best in the mornings on a good day so needless to say, it was pretty much a one-sided conversation.

Today will be working in the yard, bundling up all the debris from Sunday's "clean-up". Mark was going to rent a chipper/shredder but didn't bother to tell me that it was going to be $140. And I've been getting home after dark every day so the mess is now all over the front yard. It's a wonder the neighbors don't run us out of town.

Good morning Sue, Maggie and Lori and all that follow. Yesterday was an adventure in the ups and downs of anything mechanical, re....RVs and vehicles. We were hitched up and ready to go and DH hit the button to pull up the leveling system. The middle jack started to spew hydraulic fluid, but retracted. We have a Lippert hydraulic leveling system with 6 jacks. So we pulled her right over to the Lazydays RV service center. They said it could be a blown o ring, loose fitting or the whole jack needs to be replaced. However, they could not get us in for a week. Called a few others that were authorized dealers or not. Didn't matter, no one had an appt for at least a week. We decided to hit the road anyway and take the risk that it might deploy while on the road or not retract next stop or ??? With a gallon of hydraulic fluid now in our supplies and our Coach Net phone number ready, we hit the road. Started to call authorized dealers in Las Cruces. Bingo. Sunland RV/Holiday World is the sister store to our Holiday world in Houston. We were already in the computer for warranty work. We pulled in at 3pm. They determined it was a blown o ring, replaced it, replaced the lost fluid all at no charge and had us on our way in 45 min. Yoohoo! And they gave us a discount at their RV resort because their overnight spots were being resurfaced. Yoohoo again.

Not out of the woods yet. Half way to Las Cruces an engine service light came on. Read manual, Called Ford dealer in Las Cruces and have a appt at 9 am. Tyler's been fed and walked. Now To get ready to take the truck over. If things come in three, this Truck issue is #3. Hope smooth sailing from here :P Everyone have a good day and stay safe. Aloha y'alil

Red, sorry to hear you are having mechanical problems. Hope it's not much with the truck. I was hoping to hear from the place that has my motorhome. The tech called on Wednesday to confirm that the water pump was leaking and did I want to replace it. Duh, that's one of the reasons I brought it in. Was hoping it would be ready yesterday so I could get it to the Ford place for service. It's 40 miles from here to the Ford place so would rather not have to make another round trip that involves having some one bring me and pick me up.

Wish I was roaming around Florida with the GTG group. It's a little cool today but will be warming back up to the 70's and 80's next week. My sister would like to go fishing but she and her family have had a bad stomach virus for the last week. I'm not going around them.

All the morning shows are in Super Bowl overdrive. I finally muted the TV because I was tired of hearing it. The Super Bowl and Mardi Gras are going on in New Orleans. I wouldn't go to New Orleans this weekend on a bet.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It was in the 40s down here in sunny FL this morning, but crystal clear, sunny, and beautiful! I turned on the furnace for a couple of hours between 6:30 am and about 8:30, so we got to rise in warm comfort. We had coffee and snacks at Nan's again this morning, and discovered that Wendy had fallen on her way back to her rig from supper and was sporting a perfectly rounded very black eye! That, after Jane, our new member who will join when she has had time to check out our posts, did a header with her plate of food when she tripped over the handle on the fire grate which is not visible in the darkness. Jane was a bit sore this morning, but otherwise seemed fine, thank heavens.

Many are pulling out to other parks today, but a handful of the cream of the crop are staying until sunday morning. A finer GTG there never was, as far as I am concerned. What a fun, laughing, wonderfully caring bunch of people met here in this super park----sewers, or not!

Sarah helped me to reconnect to the old Photobucket so I could post the link to the slide show I put together. The pics are in no order, were not photoshopped or fixed other than resized, and I hope they are even half as good as Liz's usually are! I have another bunch to download today which I took as we toured the Fort the other day. They need to be photoshopped to get lightened as I used no flash so as to not disturb the eyes of those in attendance.

Off I go to clean up and organize today. I was happy to hear that Judy made it to the keys already, and that Carol is safe and sound, also.

I remembered RABBITS and shouted it to Kathy as she headed for the head this morning, so we should get double luck this moth!

Happy Februrary to all!

Happy travels!

Weather is a bit cooler. Am waiting for my glass-bottom boat tour with a just in case jacket. Bit windy also.

I am renting a car to drive to Key West tomorrow. Much better than trying to take my rig. Cheaper to rent once in a while than haul a vehicle.

Morning...it warms my heart reading all about the gtg! Some day I will be able to be in attendance.

We got a light dusting of snow overnight and some additional flurries this morning. Looks pretty, but that's about as far as I'll go!

Vet called last night after Elvis's recheck of his bloodwork yesterday. Everything is back to normal. Not even a high normal in there anywhere, so she was well pleased! Me too! Don't know what he had going on, but so glad it got taken care of! He's such a sweet old man.

Gd is growing up! She has been getting herself up most days lately, without me having to hollar up the stairs to her. So last night I praised her for it, and she told me that she has been trying to do it herself because she knows I won't always be here to to wake her and when she has a job she figures she will need to get up and get to work on time! Score one for me!

That's it from here today. I've got laundry going and need to get to my cleaning chores. Not motivated. Need to get some birthday gifts and cards too. Hoping that the ravens will take the Super Bowl this year. I'm not a big football fan, but have to root for the home team!

Wendy, someone needs to post a pic of that eye! Glad to hear I'm not the only person who has tripped over the fire ring! Fell into one one time and really skinned up my shin! Put a big ole bruise on my hip...wasn't pretty!

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of their day!

Good Morning,

Friends stopped while I was typing so several have posted in the meantime. Sorry about the black eye, Wendy!! Now really have to rush to get ready for ride!

Okay, Red, we are having the gremlins!! Only mine are not my real problem to fix.

Came to Yuma yesterday. Don't really like this park, but friends are here to ride with. First, no electric at the box so that was fixed. Just before midnite I heard a crackling sound. Got more of it right after I climbed in bed. EMS (Electrical Management System) was going nuts - poor voltage!! So, we turned the breaker off. Still low voltage this a.m. so I plugged into a neighboring box and up and running.

We got some of the shopping done yesterday - too many wild goose chases for things we can't find.

Okay, friends are stopping by to decide on a ride and I am being pestered because I like my slow mornings!! After not enough quiet sleep (someone snores and says I do too), I have a little somethin' extra in my coffee this morning!!

And did I mention I was dealing with electric at midnite and forgot to Rabbits!! Not good :)

Have a good day whatever you are up to and safe travels.

Soos I counted 19 is that the correct number for the GTG? and I was a ghost visitor!!

Wendy doesn't want a picture on a good day so don't think anyone will get one of the black eye. I'm not laughing at your fall. That's a real danger in some of these dark campgrounds. I probably have 5 flashlights in my RV but do I remember to carry one, noooo. A friend of mine fell last week and broke her arm just below the shoulder. Had to have surgery to reattach the ligaments and now has a plate and screws in her arm. It will be 3 years in April that I fell and I still have to take Aleve sometimes because my shoulder hurts.

Paulette, glad to hear Elvis is doing better. My old cat is getting so skinny. I started giving her a small can of cat food everyday in addition to the dry that they always have. I think the next bag of food I buy will be just regular instead of the weight control that the others need. It didn't take the other cats long to figure out Pepper was getting better food. They watch us like hawks when I try to get her into the utility room alone.

Kathleen, what is green tea suppose to do for you?

Oh, I don't need dark to trip over anything, especially fire rings. Been there, done that - during the bright daylight. I do remember a flashlight most of the time at night. The problem is when night comes before I go back to get it! And since I love the cg's with no lights, I have to be careful.

Martha it is suppose to help in a weight loss program... Tomorrow is my day to weigh myself... I do it the same time with no clothes on... my first was excellent but that will not happen again... but I will keep plugging away...
Oh I would never want to see Wendy with a black eye... just want to know how she is... sometimes after a fall it takes a day or two before the hurt sets in...

I don't wander around much at night. If I do, I try to remember the flashlight app on my smart phone.
