I have one of those tools, and it sure came in handy to disconnect my hose after it had been hooked up for 4 years, and I also have an aluminum (no sparks)
pipe wrench to use on connections for propane tanks and the sewer plug. It actually comes in handy for a lot of things.

I have the wrench Mitch posted. Didn't need it until this camper - fittings are extra tight. LeRoy said he was glad to have it today when he emptied tanks for me.

Sarah

I solved the problem of the leaking water hose connection (no matter how tight I made it), by buying a Quick Connect hose attachment. So far I have had it 2 years and still no leaking. In fact it worked so well I bought one for my blank tank flushing hose also.

I always wear rubber gloves when handling my sewer hose and find that they are marvelous for extra gripping power in attaching and detaching. My connection is pretty handy but sometimes I need some extra oomph to get it to lock on.

My rubber gloves come in handy for hooking and unhooking my car also. Keeps my hands clean from the road grime and just all around extra gripping power.

Thanks all for your responses!! Mitch - thank you for the link to that wrench and Anita says it works for her so I have already placed an order! I also found a different brand of sewer hose and connectors called Blueline that just 'pushes on'. It is kind of pricey but if it works, that might be ab answer also.

Now if I can just get over my fear of driving the RV and if Terri gets some good news from the oncologist on Monday, maybe we will get a chance to get out and about. Either way, we are going to try to scoot over to the GTG Wednesday and hopefully meet some of the ladies if anyone is around and just relaxing!! I have my fingers crossed that we will be able to 'drop in' and visit!

Take care and stay safe all that are still making their way to the GTG.

Bonnie
