Emily, I moved your question about the rig to the General room. That's kind of a place for anything you aren't sure where to put. That said, you could have also put it in the rig room - but I think the general room is best for it now - when you get one, the rig room!

The goal is to keep the dream alive now - AND after you have the rv and start living it. Ah, yes.

Well, eight months later and I am still RV dreaming! The real estate market has been very slow here and our condo still has not sold. However, I think we are getting close to getting an offer so hope you will cross your fingers for us!

While we've been waiting for a sale, we've done a lot more traveling around Belize and recently returned from a 16-day trip around Mexico. Every trip we take reinforces our love for travel, but we want to be able to travel with Paisley, our Boston Terrier, and our bicycles, as well as more "stuff" than we can fit into a backpack.

We're planning to go back to the US in the spring no matter what (even if we have to leave our condo vacant), and once our condo does sell, we can start looking seriously at RVs. It is hard to be patient, but all good things come to those who wait, right?

Welcome to the forum. I lived on a sailboat and cruised for 13 yrs. lived on an island for 30 yrs. just started RVing 4 mos ago with a 5th wheel. Not full time, but currently on our first long trip (3 weeks). You'll love it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the sale of your condo.

Thanks Beth and Redwahine!

It's especially nice to hear from someone who has cruised on a sailboat (our first plan which I nixed and my husband is still trying to forgive me for) AND lived on an island (MY alternative idea, but really isn't working for us long-term) who loves RVing.

One thing we have learned from our time living in Belize is that we don't want to live in one place, at least for a while. The other thing we've learned from our experiences in real estate is that we're in no hurry to buy again. Owning a home isn't the guaranteed investment it used to be (we owned our last home for ten years and still just barely broke even when we sold), and when it comes time to sell, it can be very difficult at times!

Just trying to stay patient and BREATHE. Thank goodness I do yoga! 8-)

Thanks mitch and rvgrammy! We're still looking online for that "perfect rig", which is proving very difficult because we have a lot of specific requirements. But I am sure we'll find it once we actually look "in the flesh".

Hi Emily,

I, too, am new to RVing and in the process of decision making on what size, model, etc., to buy. It is such a big decision. Sizewise, I could not decide whether to go smaller or bigger but since I am going to full time it, I have decided pretty much on a Class C 31' 8.5" Tioga Ranger. After communicating with another Judy, here on this forum and who has this model, she has made me feel confident I can handle the larger one and I will enjoy the extra space. I am waiting today to see if they take my offer, as I am using my automobile as a trade-in. (Yes, some dealers will do that).

I have absolutely no experience with RVs but have driven many a U-Haul moving my kids here and there through the years so I am just diving in and going for it. A little scary maybe but hey....you have to go for your dream and this is mine. It sounds like it is yours too....so good luck in your shopping and happy travels!
