It's Monday...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Monday...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Mon Jan 21, 2013 5:34 am

Good Monday morning, all.... :D Well, Mr. Spinner is feeling so much better that he decided that his Mommy needed to get up early for his walk....It's so nice to have "dog breath" in your face along with a little whining in the ear at 4:15am....He also is perky this morning as he did what any happy Jack Russell would do after his walk....jumping, playing with his tug-toy, and wanting his morning treat... So, I'm wide awake....  Gotta' love him... ;)

The plan for the day is to wash about 7,000 miles of road dirt off the 5er....and since the "Weather Bug" says it's to be sunny and in the 60s, we'll get that done, for sure.. :)

Okay, coffee's ready with muffins warm and smothered with butter...Yummmm....

Have a great day, all and safe travels to all that are on the road...

Lori, I totally understand about the morning doggy breath waking you. That's one thing I don't miss but I do miss having Gus to talk to. Have been urged to get another dog but just not sure about that yet. But years of getting up early to walk the dog is ingrained in me I guess cause I'm up early for no good reason. It's a free day at national parks so I'm going to check out the Hobe Sound Wildlife Refuge. Only in this area for 4 more days. Then what? We'll see. Mean time, thanks for the morning muffins!!

Good Morning all,

Boy, am I behind again. Miss a day or two and miss a lifetime on here it seems. All kinds of fun going on both sides of the country. The GTG in Q and the folks gathering for the GTG in FL. How I wish...... My neighbors are leaving for FL tomorrow tilll mid April. Asked them if they had room for one more passenger and two dogs

Winter has come on full force here now. It's about 8 degrees outside with a minus 8 wnd chill. And snow coing down. It snowed Saturday night but not as much as was predicted. Also on Friday as well and into the day yesterday. So it's time to just hunker down and deal with it. Need to go do some shopping as my larder is getting down, but have to see if weather will allow it. Yesterday was windy and with the roads snowcovered and icy, every tiime you passed somebody coming the other way or got passed by somebody, the threw up so much snow dust that you couldn't see. So other than going down to get a morning paper, the Flex stayed parked in the drive. Must go out today as Tessa has vet appt. and I also have an appt. But if it looks too bad, will cancel and reschedule. Can'tsee outside right now to see what's ddoing. Lake effect snows are to come every day this week along with cold arctic air. But it too shall eventually pass.

Need to be off and do more reading on here, get myself dressed and a "p" sample from Tessa in a little bit and if all goes well, off we shall go. If not, will do a bit of house cleaning and then work on a little sign i am tooling around with. Have a wonderful day all those at the Q GTG and those who are on the road to the FLL GTG, drive safe. Looking forward to hearing about all the mini GTG's going to be going on this week.

Good Morning Everyone !!! Was so glad to see Sarah and Magic met up with Wendy, what a hair raising time getting there, good for you Sarah. I'm so glad you're safe and now they are slowly making their way down the state, with a stop over to meet up with Dawn. Tina, will be scooting on down too very soon, with that bad weather headed at her. I'm still setting at my Sis's, thinking of going to a near by park tomorrow. Need to do some serious housekeeping in RV. Still have cough, feel great otherwise, so guess I will just have to let it take its course. I've been told by a few, cough hangs on for awhile, I don't like it.

Lori, those muffins sound really yummy, with a cup of coffee, how far away are you ?? :D

Sue, after reading your description of weather, I know mine at home is not near that bad, but it sure made me appreciate the fact I am down here. I just don't want to deal with any of it anymore, if I can get away from it. Good luck on getting out for your errands today.

They're saying 20 percent chance of rain here, but looking out the window I would give it more percentage then that. Think they could use it here and doesn't make a difference to me one way or the other. Laundry and cleaning on the agenda and it doesn't rain inside, so guess I can't get out of that

I had better get this day moving, or me moving and the day's work started. Have a great day, those on the road stay safe !!! My goodness so many GTG's going on everywhere, big and small, all are fun.

Good morning everyone!

Lori, thanks for muffins! They always hit the spot!

HorizonSeeker, enjoy the wildlife refuge!

Sue, be careful out there with all the shoveling and snow blowing you'll be doing. Although we don't get much snow in MD, I don't like it or the cold temperatures. That's why I'm here.

Carol, sure hope you get rid of the cough.

It was so exciting to hear that Sarah and Wendy are on the move and they'll be meeting up with Dawn later in the day. The pictures from the AZ GTG are great and it looks like everyone is having a good time there. Carolb stopped by yesterday after I attended the service at Liz's church and she left to spend a couple days in the St. Augustine area, but not until she and I got a little shopping in.

Today is laundry day and later in the afternoon, Steve will put steaks on the grill for dinner. I hope that those on the road stay safe and that everyone else is enjoying life.

Good Morning to All - the Internet is working , kind of, this morning. Soon we will be on the road again heading North - not what we had planned but the innards of the Jeep are important. Should be an uneventul drive - mostly toll road except at begining and end. Went out for dinner last night and churros and ice cream. Tonight probably RIBS1

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the muffins, Lori. Carol, glad you have internet again today. Sue, that snow just does not sound good. Be careful if you do get out today. Irmi, enjoy your laundry day. Not! The steaks on the grill does sound good, though. CArol, be careful with that cough. HorizonSeeker, I got woke up at 1:30 this morning with doggy breath and little paws about to take my shoulder off. I am so thankful Belle usually sleeps through the night. On the nights she does not, I mostly stumble out the door with the dogs. By the time they are ready to go back in, I am more awake, but can normally go back to sleep right away. You will know if and when you are ready for another dog.

I am really looking forward to Wendy and Sarah getting here today. Going to get my laundry and housework done pretty soon so when they get here, I will be finished with it. Could not decide what to fix for dinner when they got here. While I was waiting for the dogs early this morning, I got to thinking about chili and cornbread. I need to see if I have a can of tomato sauce in the pantry. If not, Paul probably does. Will borrow from him. It might be because it was a little nippy this morning, but chili sounded really good at the time. I can just put it in the crockpot and let it cook all day too.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning all. Another sunny, bright day in Q. And it is a holiday, MLK day, so more people out here at the sell-o-Rama and RV shows. Dh wants to head out of town to explore today. Either north to Parker city or west to Blythe in CA. A lot of the gals will be headed over to the RV show this AM. Hopefully I'll be able to meetup with them again this afternoon and say good bye. We will start heading east tomorrow and spent some time in Phoenix to see friends and family. So it'll be laundry and stowing stuff tonight to get ready to hit the road. Aloha y'all

Good morning ladies
had to chuckle at myself yesterday, along about evening I suddenly remembered I was on a 3 day weekend and that today was a holiday.
Oh boy, Will do some extra cleaning today and moping the floor is on the list, didn't do it yesterday and son strolled through here and
said "you need to mop your floor" :D Also have to roll coins from the pop machine today, haven't done it in awhile so the can is quite full.
Chili does sound good, I'll have to check if I have the fixings for it.
Ya'll have a great day, be safe and stay warm.

Slept in this morning after a good night's sleep. Having TV and being able to use it from my bedroom is really nice and helps me sleep--keeps me from all those dark worrisome thoughts at night. Since i have only one receiver, I do occasionally have to reset it in the front. It seems to be turning itself off, so a timer may be set that I need to fix. I am learning, however.

I left the Everglades Flamingo campground yesterday, six days before I had planned to leave, but there was NO cell service unless you drove 35 miles, so it was just not workable. I am back in the Midway campground along I 41 in the Big Cyrpess Swamp where I stayed last week for a night. This is a gem. There are electric hookups, and a water and dump station, but where everything is absolutely full around here, no one seems to know about this so there is almost never problems finding a spot, no matter how crowded other places are. It is also very quiet and mostly full of full or almost full-timers. Very weak cell service here, but by velcroing my hotspot to the window, I am getting internet. This is a federal campground for cost for me is $10 per night, which is excellent!

Today I catch up on work and if I have time and energy, I need to clean out another basement storage place so I have room for my new small carpet cleaner. I have a small vacuum in that bin, so that is the obvious place for the rest of my cleaning stuff.

Washed the windows last week inside and out, but we had a hard rain for about 20 minutes last night, so windows are dirty again!! I think they will stay that way for a while.

Well, it is a balmy -11 below zero here! There is frost on my bedroom window and it is a beautiful paisly-like pattern.

CArol, try taking L-Lysine for your cough. It really works to heal up the throat in a couple days to get rid of the coughing. You can get it at any drug store. I had a residual cough from an upper respiratory infection that lasted almost 2 years! Took some L-Lysine to heal a cheek bite in my mouth and the cough disappeared in two days! I have used it ever since for coughs.

Gotta get ready for work. Have a great day!

Good Morning everyone... cold and sunny here... will not go out unless I have to!

Thanks Mitch and Anita... I will try your suggestions and post which one helps... so far 3 1/2 days behind me and many many more to come... I had oatmeal with blueberries and raspberries in it and coffee for breakfast... I thought I would keep the powder drink for evening as I seem to get hungry then... eating small meals as suggested every 2 to 3 hours... boy this is a long road.. the weight came on when the dr put me on 100 mg prednisone a few years ago... it seems to stick like concrete...

Ah Sarah and Wendy have hit the road and are now catching their breath... Sarah you should ask Wendy to help she is a minimalist... I have been trying to learn from her...
enjoy each step you take everyone...

Wow, you are all so busy. I'm sitting here watching the Inaguration.I think it's the first one I've watched.
My rig is finally fixed. They had to replace the roof, satilite dish and a/c compressor. Since they had the roof off,I had them move the wiring for the satilite and tv. Now I don't have to drape the cords across the floor. I also had them add a tow bar. I take my Ford Ranger down today and they will wire it. It's 27 here in Southern Orygun. The coast is suppose to get up to 50 this week. It's also my daughter's b'day this week, maybe I'll take her and my granddaughter to the coast for a practice trip.

Judy, my DH's receiver turns itself off if the remote hasn't been used in 4 hours. It came set like that and I have never looked to see if it could be changed. He goes off and leaves everything on so turning off is a good thing.

Another nice day with 70 degree weather. No plans for today. Wish my friend was off but they don't get today off. I have already mopped the kitchen because DH spilled coffee. Yesterday I woke up at 4:00 am and couldn't go back to sleep so cleaned on my office. Need to start a new file box for 2013 and separate the papers that are getting piled in the 2012 box. Taxes are about my least favorite thing to do. I would like to haul a few years to the old house but had to go dig in old papers for farm stuff last year.

I wish we had found the listing for the campground where Dawn is. We looked for a campground when we got to DeFuniak Springs but didn't see that one. Ended up going on to one in Bonifay I think. I need to get a new campground directory.

Sure am glad I'm not where Sue and Barbie are. I use to get mad if I had to go to work in the rain. I would have to hibernate in that weather.

Martha, it is the Sunset King Lake Resort. The address is 366 Paradise Island Dr, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433. Their website is: www.sunsetking.com. The only thing not good right now is that the lake is really down. I am definitely going to remember this park if we are back this way again. So far, this is my favorite private campground I have been in.
