Chilly Friday....

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Woke up at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep so took 1/4 of one of my anxiety pills and finally by 6am fell asleep. Woke up at 10:30!

Last night (for my birthday) I decided to stay home and watch a movie, "Couples Retreat". It wasn't too bad! Then I frosted my hair. I got it cut at work yesterday finally, so it feels (and looks) so much better!

Today I have the day off. It is 36 degrees now. Will stay on the warm side thru tomorrow and then we head into the deep freeze with a high on Monday of -4

Will head over to my dad's in awhile to keep him company while he waits for his $6 million and car to show up. Need to have a serious talk with him about all this (again!). Then I need to go get my driver's license renewed. Almost forgot about that until yesterday!

Am excited to see/hear about the big GTG's this weekend and next! So wishing I was in Florida!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Dawn - I stayed at the River View Park a couple of years ago on a trip to Atlanta in the Land Dinghy. We got there a little after 5 the weekend before Christmas and they were closing up for the staff Christmas party but were very gracious about getting us situated and told us to just pay the next day. It's right on the river next to the bridge going into Natchez. There is a nice walk/bike path that runs along the river.

I remember the park as being pretty nice for a parking lot. There was some grass, the back in spots we were in had a little. But the main building was nice and the restrooms were really nice - private facilities with toilet, shower and sink all in each room - unisex.

We were there only overnight before we got on the Natchez Trace up to northern MS, then over to AL and picked up 20 into GA. I'll have to see if I have any photos of the park. I know I have some of the Mississippi River.

Pat, sorry you are sick...hope since you had the vaccine it will be a mild case and you'll soon be feeling better. Meanwhile, we'll try to keep you entertained.

Escape tomorrow is looking possible. Eddie says there is only a little water I will have to drive thru to get out of park from where he moved Magic - all I have to do is be sure I don't get off road into mud and you cannot see the road for a short distance. My butterflies have risen to the size of elephants! Next challenge will be to get over 2 mountains between here and Birmingham area. Sun helped melt ice and dry road surfaces as long as not in shade or under much water. Below freezing again tonight so wet places will freeze over again. Once south of B'ham, should be okay. Not sure what time I can actually get on the road or how far I can make it by dark so shooting for meeting Wendy on Sunday in south AL.
I'm taking Hwy 231 most of the way. Can skirt B'ham and avoid interstate that way.

Assume the mess along I-65 made national news. So many wrecks both N & S lanes shut down around 1:00 PM yesterday and not reopened until around 8:00 AM today. Worse section around Cullman (about 1/2 way between me and Wendy). In addition to wrecks, many people ran out of gas during the night. It was after 11:00 AM before traffic jams cleared because of so many vehicles and the road still icy on Lacon Mt. throughout the morning.
Sure am glad I wasn't in that chaos.

Hoping my next post will be from somewhere else. Look out FL, I might make it yet.

Sarah, sure hoping you are on the road by now. It is really nice here. Have my windows open and have a tee shirt on. No sweat shirt or sweater for a change. The birds are sure chirping up a storm and serenading my neighbors.

Ok, I've looked everywhere, hoping Sarah had checked in, haven't found any news of her. I know she's fine but I'm tired and I'd sleep better, if I could have read how she and Wendy were enjoying that wine Wendy said she had :D

Nite all,

CArol :)
