Chilly Friday....

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly Friday....

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Fri Jan 18, 2013 5:07 am

Good morning, all...Yep, the chill has made it to the GA coast.....44F at 4am....so the heater and furnace are back on and will do the new fluffy pjs tonight...

Well, lets see...my finger is free of the tape and the Dr. says it's healing very well....He's pleased that I have been working on it to bend....almost can touch it to the palm of my hand...no more visits to see him and no PT required.... :D

It rained yesterday for a little while.....today, chilly with sunshine...

Okay, need more coffee....

Have a great day, all...stay warm and safe out there... ;)

Wow Lori, you are up really early. I just knew I'd beat you. It is chilly here too. 57! But it is supposed to warm up to 70 and be sunny. Great day to kayak down the Loxahatchee. We meet at the launch site at 8am and it's a 30 minute drive so I'm up early. Can't wait. Will have breakfast quickly now then out the door. Have a great day ladies. And Lori, great news on the pinkie.

Good morning Lori, HorizonSeeker & everyone!

Lori, so glad your finger is healing and that you won't have to go through PT!

HorionSeeker, have a good trip on the kayak!

I hope Dawn makes it to Florida today and I also hope Sarah can get to Magic to start her trip south. Tina, it sounds like you had quite a trip yesterday. Everyone on the road, stay safe.
It's cold here in Ocala right now and we'll only get to the mid 60's today, so the heaters are going to take the chill off. Coffee is on, orange juice is in the pitcher and sweet buns are on the counter, so help yourself.

Not sure what I'll get into today since it's so cool out. Might just stay inside with a good book. Take care everyone and have a good day!

Good morning Lori, HorizonSeeker, Irmi and all to follow.

Lori, I am glad your finger is doing so well. Keep up the good work and stay warm today.

HorizonSeeker have fun with your kayak today. You sound so excited.

Irmi, watched local weather this morning, so will be in Florida at our next stop by early this afternoon. I cannot wait! Going to lay over for a few days at King's Lake then make our way to the GTG. I am sure hoping Sarah and Wendy can start making their way south this weekend. I think all the rain and snow are letting up for them for a few days.

Donna, so glad Maggie's eye infection is looking better. Have fun shopping for MySweetDream today.

I received an email from the manager of an RV Park (River View RV Park & Resort) on the Mississippi River near Natchez, MS/Vidalia, LA. I talked to her a few days ago and I may be working there this coming winter. We are supposed to talk again in September since she is looking for summer help right now and I am committed in OK until October. I looked the park up on the Internet and it looks nice, but that can be deceiving. Have heard from Marslet and Vickie on FB that it is a nice park. I think that would be good place for me for winter. Would be close enough to Mom to visit with her for Christmas. There would be a lot if places to explore on my days off too. Have never been there so that would be great. If anyone knows about this park, I would love to hear.

Well, I need to wake the dogs up and take them outside then finish my coffee before getting things stowed again to hit the road. I hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Temperature standing at 42 degrees here in Orlando this morning, down almost 20 degrees from yesterday at this time! I have my furnace running for only the third day since I have been down here, and it feels so good! At least heavy winds that accompanied that cold front of yesterday have abated.

Here are a couple of pics of my tablet case that arrived yesterday----they are not very clear, and I don't have the patience to retake them this morning, but it gives you an idea of how neat this thing is! The keyboard is much bigger than I anticipated, thank heavens, and plenty big enough for me to type on. I am very pleased with it! It connects to the tablet via bluetooth each time I turn it on.

Image
This is the new case with keyboard closed.....very compact and easy to carry around. Holes in the right places for the camera, speakers, charging, etc.

Image
This is the case and keyboard open.

Kathy arrived early in the afternoon yesterday, and we had a wonderful reunion! She will accompany me today to my zapping appointment, and then we will go shopping at Walmart for a bike for her. We plan to get into shape and stay that way!

It sounds as if you all are making progress towards the south here, and I can't wait to see you all! Those fleecey pajamas will fell very good if this weather keeps up!

Happy to hear that Maggie's eyes are looking better, Donna.

Time for more coffee----hazlenut it is, with vanilla creamer. That berry cobbler flavored coffee I tried yesterday was HORRID, and I threw it out and scrubbed the pot to eliminate that fruity, icky flavor that I couldn't get out of my mouth and nose all day long!

Happy Friday to all, and stay safe on the roads.

I am thinking that waking up to 40 degrees would feel nice about now. The puppers and I were warm enough through the night but our walk this morning was all slip and sliding. All the water and and slush froze of course and there was a lot of standing water. Even Stuart was amazed to find himself skating in spots. I haven't made it over to the office but if 40 east through the mountains is clear we will head on out towards Asheville and on to Charlotte and hopefully find some warmer temperatures by tomorrow morning. The sky is a beautiful bright blue and we are at least on the road.

Hope everyone's adventures today work well and bring them some smiles. And those of us making our way towards FL will be listening in on the Q folks so that we can get even more ideas on how wonderful memories are enjoyed.....

Good morning all! Yes Tina, the snow is pretty but we don't know a thing about driving in it. I remember when i was working if we'd see one flake everyone would start wanting to go home! Last night I saw cars going by so thought I could go out and get something to eat. Got a block from home andthey were pushing cars over th hill so I inched home. In awhile I will start taking all this stuff that is on my table out to the camper. if i can get out later to the bank, the vet, and WM I should be able to leave tomorrow. Still can't seem to get excited don't know why. I've made a commitment to take some stuff to someone down in fla or I might not go. Sorry to be so negative, Im trying to catch the feveer from all of you! Those on the road, especially in the south!, watch out for the OTHER GUY! Wendy

Morning all....brrrr it got cold here overnight and the wind isn't helping things out. Got Elvis home yesterday, the fun is getting liquid meds down his throat! But I think I have it figured out. He's very upset with me that I won't let him go outside. Hope he gets over it!

The second quarter of the school year officially ends today, so we are half way thru another school year! Woo hoo! Only 4 more to go...this weekend is my weekend off. Haha. Gd will send tonight with her grandfather and tomorrow night with her mom. They think they are giving me a break...but I still have to coordinate everything (pick up and drop off, etc) and make sure she has what she needs in her overnight bag, as in reminding her to pack her toothbrush and toothpaste!

Today is chores day...as I laundry and dust bunny management! Cats create a lot of dust bunnies!

Glad to hear Tina is on the road, red is in Q, and others are on their way to fl or will be soon. Wendy, don't give up on the gtg...you and Sarah will really enjoy yourselves once you are able to get to the warmer weather! Hopefully Mother Nature is finished for the time being.

Soos, glad to hear your zappings have been going so well.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good morning all!! Today is a hat and sunscreen day here in AZ. Although it was only 36 when I took Tylaer for his walk this am at 7, it will get up into the 60/70s today with a bright sun. It really is glorious to see the warm sun again :P simple pleasures :P Oh, and the stars at night. We had a hitch in our giddy up getting here yesterday. I posted the story on the General Talk thread. Q is very interesting town. It is analogous to Sturgus; a place on the map for most of the year and then comes alive for a big rally. Except the rally in Q last several months when over 1 million RVs show up with over half of them boon docking. Huge tent city. Lots of ATVs, dirt bikes, dune buggies. I now know what a RZR is. They are parked all around me :P Looks like a lot of fun. My brother and son rode dirt bikes and I fondly call then desert rats. Alot of desert rats in Q :P Tons of swap meet type places and specialty shops set up in tents. A big 300 ft tent will house the big RV show starting Sat. Then classic car show, rock & gem show. DH just got up and announced we are driving to Yuma today to explore. So off I go. Our gtg is tomorrow. Can't wait. Everyone stay warm and if you are on the road, stay alert and safe. Aloha y'all

Good Morning,

Wendy, I have been dragging about heading out as well. My only excuse is there is so much to put away, I feel a little overwhelmed, but I know it is doable. I talked with Sharon and Beth yesterday and am excited to see/meet everyone! I will get to Quartzsite today!

Nice to have warmer weather!

I plan to put my camera and its harness on when I get to Quartzsite - then I just have to remember to use the camera!!

Safe travels to you on the road and to those about to be! Some of you are much braver than I to travel with winter weather!

The sun is out again, 2 days in a row. YEA I was so sick of the rain and gray days. It's still a mess in the yard and at the barn.

Tina and Wendy be careful in the ice and snow. Hope you can get to warmer temperatures. Wendy, when I haven't been on a trip in a while I find that I dread getting on the road. But once I get started it keeps getting better. Most of the time I don't want to come home. Just think about all the fun you will be having in Florida.

Dawn, I didn't camp the 2 times I have been to Natchez but if you like old houses and history there is a lot to see around Natchez. I bet you could get some GTG's going. ;)

Donna, it's nice you got to camp with a friend that could help you get things figured out. It doesn't matter how long you have been camping you can learn new things. I find that the overhead cabinets are too tall so I put the wire shelves in them to divide the space. Just remember not to put heavy things in them that could fall out and hit you. You might want to find a plastic container that would fit in your outside compartment to store your sewer hose in. It would be easier to clean the container than the bin if your sewer hose drips water in there.

Paulette, did the vet give you a syringe to give your cat his medicine with? I use the little 1 cc syringes to give medicine with. It's usually easier to get liquid down a cat than a pill. I have a pill pusher but most of the time they can hack a pill up no matter how far you push it.

I found some scones by the cookie dough at Walmart. They are not too bad. Much better than the ones I have tried to make. I think there were blueberry and cranberry. I tried the cranberry.

Good Morning. You ladies are my soul entertainment until Tuesday for sure! I expect you to post lots of pictures from both GTG's so I have something to look forward to! I'm home for the third straight day with Influenza B (yes I had the vaccine) and a sinus infection along with it. Taking Tamiflu and have a nebulizer...mostly been sleeping and just surfing the net not much else to do.

Please everyone be careful traveling. Wendy, I usually find that when I'm not excited to go somewhere I end up having the best time. When I'm really excited about something...I end up feeling let down.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
