Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday cool down

Postby carolb » Thu Jan 17, 2013 7:00 am

Good morning all! :D

Looks like a cool down for those who have been not-seasonably warm...How's Ernie today??? And all the sick pets??? Hope everyone is well, & of corse, Sarah, "everyone" inclewdes rigs, so hope Magic is serviving, too.

Had a GREAT day with Irmi & Liz--Liz, another wonderol lady! See GTG's for her pix of owr visit to her home. A very lovely day! :P Started off a bit on the down side: I was abot to leave to get Irmi, and noticed HB had a flat! Totally covered by my ins to have someone come to change to spare. It had a lovely bolt in it, by the looks of the head, it was probably a 3/8 inch, bt don't know how long. So today, HB gets two new front tires.

Yes, Catherine, it is so wonderfol to meet all these women with whom we share coffee & thots every morning! Dawn, glad yew got owt before that nasty weather, & will see yew soon!

Sis is texting me to have coffee with her--only cawght a glimpse of her yesterday, she's way too bz.

Y'all have a great day & be safe wherever yew are! :P

Good morning all. Sarah, I hope you get on the road soon. I know you're anxious. Carolb, you are really getting to know your way around the rv now. Great to have all the experts on this board to help us, isn't it?

Woke up to low 60s but will warm up to 80 they say. Sounds good for a day of kayaking, but that's tomorrow. Unfortunately, tomorrow's forecast is cooler and possible rain. Doesn't matter, I'm still going. In fact, I'm heading out the door to bike some trails while it's still cool. No time to make breakfast.

Top of the Morning to Ya'll..... :D Slept until 7am....Ernie was already up and he had Spinner out around 4:30am....He's doing alot better today...but told him to stay with the clear liquids for at least today....just to be sure ;)

Got my appt. at the Ortho clinic at 10am for the finger check.... :) It's doing pretty good and can bend it almost to make a fist...hope they'll let me go without the tape....that gets so annoying

Geez, Carolb, sorry to hear about the tire....and good thing you are getting all the "bugs" worked out before the big trip west....So glad you got to meet Liz, along with spending more time with Irmi......Hope Sarah gets to hit the road soon....that weather sure is scary.....and Dawn's on the road again, too....Travel safe all of you on the road.....

Okay, more coffee for me, then throw the clothes on and get ready to go for the dr. appt....

Have a great day, all..

Good morning !!! Looks really pretty outside right now, but bad weather moving in, getting kind of cold overnight here. Stayed really nice for just long enough for us to start taking it for granted and now here is the waker upper !!!! Hopefully it will settle down and be nice for our GTG.

Dawn, be really careful, they're saying winds will be bad today, not sure if they will be where you will be traveling but up in that area doesn't sound good. You got out of Ms just in time, snow up there, and thats not a usual thing for Ms, Sarah, am so hoping roads are open and you can grab Magic and get out of there. What you don't get packed, we'll all share or help you get, just get yourself down here, out of that mess.

Coffee's gone here, so hoping you all have enough to wake yourselves up :D Breakfast was only toasted rye bread with apple butter, one of my favorites and I finished that off too. :D , so not much of a hostess here, but would be glad to fix for anyone who shows up

Not much on the agenda here today, maybe a wee bit of cleaning in RV and a load of wash, haven't decided on this yet  Still trying to get rid of this cough that is lingering since cold over the holidays. Doesn't seem to want to go away. May mean another dr. visit, just love that thought !!! NOT I've learned to be very leery of sneaky coughs in this past yr. :o :D Want it gone before GTG. Kept me from joining GTG in Mc Intosh yesterday, I know that was a great time, I love that area up there.

Need to be moving here, my Sis has a bike setting in her tv room, think I need to go ride it while listening to all this junk we have for news. Terrible stuff, so many sirens, etc., I am not used to this where I live, fewer people, fewer bad things happening.

Have a great day everyone, stay safe, especially those on the roads,
CArol :)

Good morning all. Dressed for the cooler weather that's supposed to be here. When I went out for our walk, I found out it isn't here yet and got too warm. So, I've shed a layer until it comes through. Thinking about a second cup of coffee now.

I have an appointment in Ocala this afternoon for my hearing aids. My audiologist redid one of my molds and now she needs to check and make sure it is fitting properly...not making any red pressure points in the ear canal. I really like these new aids and have found the hard molds do much better in my ears. I think I was allergic to the old soft(latex) ones. The bad weather will probably hit just as I have to drive down there. At least it's only the car I will be driving.

I coulda shoulda given the RV another bath while the weather was so nice, but it may not be too late. There should be a nice day next week to do it. Thistle doesn't know it yet, but he's due for a bath too. He's really good about that though, and stands still in the shower while I do it. Brushing is another matter. He tolerates it up front, but doesn't like it around the backside or legs. I may need to get some pointers from Tina about that.

Yesterday was a lot of fun with Irmi and Carolb. I guess today will be a quieter day....got a book to finish that I couldn't quite keep my eyes open for last night. Will probably have to reread the last page or two where I nodded off, lol.

Wishing everyone better weather, cooperative rigs, and safe travels.

It is so beautiful outside. Yesterday we drove down to Tombstone. Saw Boot Hill, OK Corral Nd Bird Cage Theater. Fun. But DH kept saying it wa s justo like Knotts Berry Farm. He grew up in Buena Park and worked at Knotts while in high school. Then drove to awesome little, thriving touristy mining town of Brisbee. I love these little old towns. There was snow all around the town and mountains. Then to Ft. Huachuka, the home of the Buffalo soldier. Then home, DH feet up, TV on, out for the rest of the day/eve. I did laundry, walked dog, took myself to a really nice diner at the RV park's restaurant. Really good fish. We are headed all the way to Q today. Temps are suppose to reach 60. But there is a bit of a wind blowing. Everyone have a good day. Try to stay warm and dry. Be extra careful if you're on the road. Aloha y'all

It sounds like everybody is shaping for a good day. Yay! Lori, I hope it's good news for your finger; Liz, I hope they get your hearing aid fitted exactly the way you like it.

I'm having lunch with my niece, so it will be a fun day for me. :)

Good Morning everyone... loved the pictures of your tour Liz, Irmi and Carolb... we have such great tour guides in our group!
Sarah take care and I hope you get out of north AL before long...
Ernie you need to be on top of the game soon... I saw on the news that over 40% of one school was out so they dismissed the others and sterilized the whole school... this bug is a nasty one...
My daughter Margie is in surgery as I write... I hope the procedure works she has been in such pain... I do know how that is but she is way to young to have such a thing... old arthur strikes us all...
I will get ready and make a trip to the store to get some chicken to make chicken soup for the family while I am daughter sitting this afternoon... will also make jello...
Take care everyone

Good morning everyone.

Carolb, yuck to the flat tire. I am glad you had ins to get it fixed. I really love hearing about all your mini GTG's. Cannot wait to meet up with you at the big one.

Lori, glad Ernie is feeling better. Hope they take the tape off your finger too. That has to be really aggravating.

I am hoping Wendy and Sarah get out of the northern part of AL this weekend too making their way to FL.

Liz, none of my dogs likes me brushing them. Thank goodness for groomers. When they get squirmy, I feel sorry for them and let them off the hook.

CArol, after this last year, you had better pay attention to those little coughs. Sure don't want to hear you are in the hospital again.

The wind is really blowing here today. Paul and I have decided to extend for a day. The forecast is for 20-25 mph sustained winds with 35-40 mph gusts. No reason not to just extend a day and kick back today. Will get to Florida tomorrow.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

First off, Wendy and Sarah, and anyone else in that flood area, get the he&% outta Dodge, PRONTO! Head south as far as you can, so you will be ready for the GTG a week from now, or so. Cold front has not hit here yet in Orlando, although they are saying that by this afternoon, winds and some scattered rain showers will usher in the front. Tonight might be downright cold, they are saying-----HMmmmphhh! Cold meaning around the 40s, or perhaps upper 30s with wind chill factored in. Piece of cake for us northerners! Warm pajamas might be advisable for the GTG, should it fail to warm up before then.

Kathy called last night and said she hopes to roll in around 2-ish this afternoon. It will be fun to see her again.

Time to walk the pups, finish my laundry, and then wait for Kathy. Please keep a wary eye to the sky and to the water levels below your feet, those of you in the flood zones. Sure do hope you can all have a safe day.

Kath, am hoping your daughter will find relief from her pain. It's nice that you can stay with her and help her out for a bit.

Off I go-----Happy Thursday to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning all! Emailed Sarah a few minutes ago that don't have any snow yet. Now we do! Coming down pretty good, just starting to stick. Shoudnt create any road problemshere there, if not Im going out tonight to get something to eat. Things a re piled up on my kitchen table waiting to go in the camper. Its been to wet all week to trek back and forth between the driveway and the house. I have had enough of moisture in any form, but if its going to be cold and wet anyway the snow is nice to look at. Its a novelty to us. Ya'll have a good WARM SAFE and FUN day! Wendy

Afternoon ladies. Glad to hear that all are either at their intended destinations or hunkered down waiting for the right time to continue on. Sarah and Wendy, I sure hope y'all get a break so you can hit the road!

Was able to bring Elvis home this morning. He's really pissed that I won't let him go outside, but he will get over it eventually! He's got meds to take twice a day, but I'm hopeful that he will keep on keeping on for a while yet. Thanks for all the good thoughts! Cost me a kings ransom to get him home, but I'm happy he's back!

Had lunch today with a good friend that I don't get to see to often anymore. She's an RVer too...her and her hubby. Anyway, we had a nice lunch.

Good afternoon

We've had lots of sleet and snow but not expecting it to be a problem beyond what it contributes to flooding situation. I'm not planning to go anywhere today or tonight. Forecast is for SUN Friday and Sat and nothing more dripping from the sky after tonight - YEA! And the temp should be high enough to melt whatever is out there.

Assuming I can get Magic out, should be able to leave late Sat AM. No word from Eddie but I will call him tonight (don't want to bother him during day). Sure wish I could leave early but I have to get ride to Magic and get everything loaded Sat AM. Knew not being able to keep her near house would be inconvenient but didn't realize what a big pain it might be. Travel will likely be slow too as I've got to get across couple of mountains and watch for black ice in areas where sun cannot reach roadway.

Dawn - glad you got out of MS before snow and found place to wait out the wind.
Paulette - so happy to read Elvis back home.
Flat tires no fun; glad covered to get them changed.

Guess I'd better finish rounding up what needs to go with me as near term escape option is looking better.

Stay warm and safe out there.
