Our plans changed. It was so cold in Ft. Stockton last night. Down to 22 and of course Tyler had to go at 2 am. I wanted to shoot him. However, the stars were so bright and I saw objects I haven't seen since I left Hawaii. The cold front is headed east, so we decided to high tail it as far west as possible and miss the predicted snow in Las Cruces. The drive was so beautiful. There was about a hundred miles of a winter wonderland along I 10. Everything had a very thick covering of frost. It was magical looking. I tried to take a picture, but you couldn't see the effect in the photo. So we made it to Tucson and are staying for 3 nights before we head to Q. Lots of things we want to see and do around here and looking forward to parking for a few nights. Our revs in Q starts on the 17th. So we'll go straight to Q on Thurs. can't wait to see everyone.

The skies at night in NM were the reasons why I didn't mind the early morning, pre-dawn Spinner walks....so clear and so full of stars....also loved the sun rises and sunsets....too lots of photos of both....enjoy, Chris....

Good morning everyone. We are in Tucson, AZ. Drove all day yesterday to try and get to the west side of this cold front. It was suppose to be below freezing and possible snow in west TX and NM for the next three nts. It was 15 here this morning when I walked Tyler. (He's still on central time and we are mow in mountain time.) But, last night was the last night of freezing weather for the next couple weeks in AZ. It'll still be chilly, but not below freezing Where we are parked is just the opposite of camping. It is more of an RV country club. 250 spots. Beautiful paved roads. Big and wide gravel pull through spots. Outdoor patio with wrought iron patio set with your own citrus bearing tree. still very small. Paved parking spot for you vehicle. Trash pick up service everyday, wifi that is strong and works, cable TV, 2 hose connecters. There are washers and dryers that accept debit/credit cards and will text you when your clothes are done. Pool, hot tub, huge fenced dog yard. Security gate with 24/7 security. And a restaurant that is open for B, L & D. Which I'm headed to shortly when they open @ 8. There is a huge RV sales place and a Camping World connected. I wonder if they use this place to help sell the RV life style?? I'm sure many people enjoy this style, and DH likes it. But I'd much rather be in a State, National or COE camp ground. That's camping. Anyway, we will be headed out to do the tourist stuff the next fe days. Then off to Q. We had to buy Oscar one of those blanket coats while in AZ. He spent so much time shivering. He's gotten to be an old softie! Hope you enjoy Tucson!

Soos, the fireplace came installed in the 5er. Brand is Dimplex. Don't know how much electricity it takes. But it needs at least a 15 amp, 120v outlet. It says if you need to use an extension chord it needs to be rated for min of 1875 watts. It is basically a space heater with a small light bulb for the fire effect. Hope this answers your question.

Really cold, but warmed up a bit with the sun. Spent the day at the Pima Air & Space Museum. Loved the tour of AMARC, the Airplane bone yard/graveyard. Fascinating. No way a picture can show the enormousness of the place and projects. Then we checked out the Tucson Skeet & Trap Gun Club. Really fancy for a gun club. Over 300 RV sites with full hookups, laundry, wifi, but like a large parking lot. Then to the Casino. I was surprised how nice this one is. We will go back tomorrow night Back home for dinner, DH's TV shows and bed. This is suppose to be the last night of below freezing. Here is a picture of Tyler and me ready for our walk!!

Thanks, Red----that's the very brand I have been looking at on Amazon! But I guess I need the thermostat plug thingy for it to keep it at certain temps, as it does not have a built-in thermostat.

My model does have a thermostat-like control. It is a knob that you set like most space heaters. Turn it on till the fan starts, and it will come on every time it gets down to that temp. Or set higher. You get the idea??

the boneyard is eerily awesome. I went there a few years ago when my sister was in town visiting and somewhere in my posts I posted some
pictures of the boneyard. It was one of the things on her hubbies list of must see's.
Its still unseasonably cold here, guess its coming down from Canada but Saturday its supposed to be back up to 70, hoping it will be warmer
in Q, it usually is by five or more degrees. Can't wait.

Yesterday we drove down to Tombstone. Saw Boot Hill, OK Corral Nd Bird Cage Theater. Fun. But DH kept saying it wa s justo like Knotts Berry Farm. He grew up in Buena Park and worked at Knotts while in high school. Then drove to awesome little, thriving touristy mining town of Brisbee. I love these little old towns. There was snow all around the town and mountains. Then to Ft. Huachuka, the home of the Buffalo soldier. Then home, DH feet up, TV on, out for the rest of the day/eve. I did laundry, walked dog, took myself to a really nice diner at the RV park's restaurant. Really good fish. We are headed all the way to Q today. Temps are suppose to reach 60. But there is a bit of a wind blowing.
