THANK YOU, BIRDIE, for the great send-off pics! Good to hear from Red that they had landed after their first windy day on the roads, and that all was well in that neck of the woods. YAHOO, and TALLYHO!

Happy travels!

Linda....It was 29F in my yard this AM around 8 (so probably much colder during the night)....Don't know what the temp was in SF but probably pretty cold too...It looks like a few more days of these really cold temps are in store for my area in Northern CA.....can't ever remember such cold temps before nor for such a long period of time....unlike most of you I am glad to be sitting in my somewhat warm house & not in my RV. It's a good RV but not a 4 season one so would be probably pretty chilly if traveling in this kind of weather....and my dog doesn't like it either....she has to be bribed to go out for her 'potty' break......Hope all of you on the road stay safe, warm & find great friends & places to visit along the way.....enjoy !

Red, this is exciting time...keep us informed on progress, etc....you have lots of girlfriends in the area you're headed and maybe have arrived at...take pics, you know we love them. I am still not sure what direction my life will be taking in the next few months but in spite of the crazy lawsuit I am trusting God for his guidance and direction and I now feel at peace..
We have been getting lots of rain the past couple of days but our lake is very low so this is good news. A couple of years ago the lake was so high everyone had to take boats to get to their boats. I am now boatless, thank goodness.
I have taken my house off the market...going to try the 'by owner only' while I decide if selling is really what I want to do. New developments in my life as my brother and I have decided to live together but don't know if it will be in his house or mine. Most likely I will keep my house and he will rent his. His divorce is almost final and I want to be more involved in my nephew. I think I have mentioned that he is like a grandson more than nephew as I have spent lots of time with him from birth. He loves my house, has spent lots of time there, so Doug (brother) and I will most likely live in my house. I gave Doug most of my furniture so taking it back won't be a problem. I gave my sister in law (Doug's soon to be ex) a few things but my kids got what they wanted then Doug got what he wanted. It's still in the house so this will make the transition easier. I put God in control many months ago..He certainly has done a far better job than I would have done on my own.
I will keep my RV on the pad at my son's and Doug, Hogan and I will take some short trips to begin with. He is retiring from the Post Office the end of Feb. He has battled this decision but they offered a buy out which most likely won't be offered again. He knows he will eventually have to create a little more income but he is very talented and this won't be a problem. I will probably get involved in whatever he does decide to do but it will be some kind of woodcraft. My man cave (second garage) at the house is perfect for this.
I am hoping we can load up and go to Door County this summer but anywhere cooler than it gets here will be fine. Last summer was one of the hottest on record for Arkansas and I don't relish being here for the terrible heat if it happens again.
Sorry I got off track as my original post was just to wish Red and any others a great time plus the GTG bunch meeting up in Hillsborough the end of this month.
Remember lots of pictures sure makes it nice for those of us at home...

We are now at Ft Stockton for overnight. At the RV park Lori & Ernie recommended, Hill Top. Trying to decide if we will head north up to Carlsbad caverns tomorrow and then west. Or stay on the western sojourn. Thanks for everyone's well wishes. We are spongy well. Just wish the cold front would pass sooner.

We didn't do Carlsbad - and one reason was the dogs. Also, we had a tighter schedule than you.

Chuck and I went to Carlsbad several times. Always enjoyed it. Have fun! Hoping the cold front passes you by quickly too.

Just for your information, Carlsbad has a dog care center. I didn't use it because it wasn't hot when I was there and Sammie is used to the motorhome.

Hope you have a great trip.
