Good morning, Carolb and all those who follow....Spinner & I were out early for the walk in the FOG again this morning....now catching up and drinking my coffee....I'm in the mood to do an old-fashion breakfast today....so there's pancakes, bacon, eggs & coffee ready for you all....

Yep, practice, Carol...and don't forget to flush that fresh water tank until you don't smell bleach anymore....oh, before that, turn on the pump and run some of that bleach water thru your lines....then do the flushing.... ;) (Ernie's sitting across the table telling me to tell you this.... ;) )

Another warm one predicted for here today...so on go the shorts again.... ;) but it's suppose to be back to normal temps by the end of the week...

Okay, need to get going...have a great day, all... :D

Good morning everyone from on top of the hill overlooking beautiful TX hill country. It is 32 outside at 6 am. And Tyler said he wanted to go out!!! Bundle up!! OK, so DH looks at the weather for out in AZ and sees HIs in the 60s, lows 40s and packs his shorts. I sneak in some warm stuff. But the warm weather at home yesterday had me thinkin the same. Dummy!! The temps he saw were for next week after the 17th  It is freezing everyplace along our route for the next five days  What did I forget?? I put on my jeans. Then at the last minute grabbed a couple pairs of Capri ( you know, for that warm weather in AZ) and totally forgot my other pair of jeans. :x Next outlet mall along I10 will see some of my $$.

Where do you all check for road and weather conditions like ice or snow or ?? before you hit the road??? Is there a website, app, phone number?? Would appreciate any advice please.

Glad to see many others are moving around and getting ready for gtg. Y'all stay safe.

Good morning Everyone !!! GtGs already going on, Yea !!!! Red, I'm hoping someone else will pop in with the place to check your weather out on route. I've never had to do that, have always traveled certain time of year and took what I run into, :o This time of year and weird weather everywhere, makes it different for most on the road, so hope someone has a place to check it out. Doesn't sound to warm out AZ way, quite a few people not really prepared with much of the right clothing, so you won't be the only one shopping, Red :D

Beautiful day here in central Fl. again today. Yesterday was a hair day and some shopping. Not sure what we might get into today. My Sis still does that 4 letter word, w---, so week ends we play.

They keep saying a change is coming in weather here, the way it is right now, would be wonderful for our GTG here, so I am sure hoping not to much of a change gets here until AFTER the GTG.

No real news rom here, just wanted to wish all a Great day !!
Those traveling praying Safe Travels for all of you,

CArol :)

Good morning all,
Carol, good to see yew're in FL practicing RV101 & enjoying yewr sis. Actually the tips Lori gave yew will be good for me to remember when I get my van out of storage in the spring - always learning something. :D
Lori, thanks for passing on those tips... I'll probably need a refresher in late March... ;)
Red, you might check the states department of transportation website (just google road conditions Texas -it will probably be the first site brought up) I know they're usually pretty accurate for Kansas & Missouri so I assume the other states probably keep them up as well. The other site to check is just the weather channel (weather.com) - you can see the temps & forecasts of where you're headed - will help you know how many pairs of jeans you'll need. By the way, I loved seeing the pics of you heading out - hope the winds die down & temps warm up so you & DH have a great journey.

Dawn! I am so excited that you will be in OK! I will definitely plan a 3 or 4 day weekend outing down there - heck its only around 400 miles from KC - definitely a doable getaway! :D :D :D Can't wait to meet you! Maybe we could actually have a few others join us for an OK GTG... 8-)

Sun is shining here but its in the teens. We dodged the snow last night - not good for the drought... Going to clean the house, relax & get ready for another busy week at the office. Software upgrade went well yesterday but the real test is tomorrow when everyone shows up & hits the system ;)

Safe travels everyone...

Good morning Carolb, Lori, Red, CArol and all who follow.

Carolb, glad you are having such a good time. Enjoy your visit with Irmi and Steve today. I know you will.

Red, before we leave out, I check apps I have on my iPhone and iPad for the weather where I am and where I am going. I have both Weatherbug and Accuweather apps. I just put in the city/town I am in and then add location of city/town for where I am going. I get the weather forecasts for both places to figure out what the weather is going to be like for my drive. Both apps have radar so you can see if anything looks like it is happening along your route. I can also check the weather on DirecTV by using the "Active" button on my remote. Again, just enter where you are and where you are going to get forecasts for both. You can also click on radar so you can see if there are any storms, etc. on your route. Hope this helps.

Looking forward to a quiet day here. I plan on just puttering around in the rig. Want to work on putting more things up in their new storage places. If it doesn't rain, may get out and re-organize my outside storage. When I get through with that, may wash a couple small loads of laundry. Not much going on here.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I had a big post written yesterday, hit something on this laptop before i thought I needed to copy it, and it went into the ether of cyberland. My patience was gone, so I just logged off. Sorry about that.

What I said was that my kids gave me a Samsung Galaxy 7 inch tablet for my birthday! Skype on that with my portable WiFi from verizon allows me to walk around anywhere there is Verizon service and talk to Orion or whomever on Skype! I LOVE it! We had a wonderful birthday party on Friday night down here at the trailer, playing my collection of MP3 music on my new sound system that they got me for Christmas....complete with a birthday cheesecake with candles whose flames were the same color as they are! I was overwhelmed by the generosity of those two! Lots of crying and lots of laughter, too!

I find that typing on the tablet is ACK, so I am ordering a bluetooth keyboard and stand for it from Amazon, which will make it so much easier to write posts. Other than the typing, I love it! I did discover that it is intuitive and gives me whole word options as I type to click on, however, and automatically capitalizes the first letter in the new sentence after the periods!

Lily the black bear gave birth to two new cubs yesterday, on the live den cam! One day after my birthday!

Yesterday Goog and I mowed his property----about 6 acres----and now it looks like a golf course with an acre of pond in the middle of it----beautiful, and 79 degrees with no humidity and a cooling breeze. Tough life down here!

I thank all of you for the wonderful birthday wishes, in case I can't find that neat VW van cake again, same color as mine from the 60s, that Mitch found and made for me! How amazing is that!

Happy travels!

Morning all, or should I say afternoon? Well, nearly. Just got back from a long bike ride this morning. Got laundry to do but will wait till late this afternoon or early evening. Just so I don't miss Downton Abbey. Yes, I admit my adiction. Just love it.

Carol, I left Folkston last May. Currently I'm in Hobe Sound, FL meeting with some friends this week. Looking at routes from here to the gtg since I really need to go see someone in Tallahassee on my way to Thibadeaux. But enjoying just sitting here for a while.

good morning ladies
still cold but its getting better and long range forecast for next Saturday is in the 70's so looking forward to a nice Q outing.
In answer to Red's question about the weather, there are lots of websites to check the weather, but I prefer weather underground...
http://www.wunderground.com/
and since its so cold, of course I'm staying in and doing stuff in my room. Pulling out the ladder and getting tubs down from the top
shelf cause I think I have warmer cold weather clothing up there, like some sweats and more flannels. I'm also missing a blanket so
gotta find the tub that its hiding in.
Thats about it from my end of the world, looking forward to next Saturday though :P
Ya'll have a great day, be safe and stay warm.

Red, you might also check the state police site for whatever state you are in. The Louisiana one shows accidents and road closures. If you see ice, snow or heavy rain predicted it would be better to sit a day or two. I know it's hard to control the drivers.

I usually have enough clothes with me I could stay a month on a 3 day trip. There are a couple of light jackets that stay in my motorhome and a robe and gown. I have found that I am most likely to forget sleep wear. I need to go through my medicine cabinet and do some restocking. I needed a band aid on my last trip and all I had were dry rotted.

The cold front that's headed this way is between here and Lake Charles. It's 70 now but the temperature will drop about 20 degrees when the front comes through. It's just misting rain now. Hope we don't get a bunch more rain. There are a few towns that still have flooding.

Soos, I quit watching the bear cam after someone killed Hope. That was just too sad.

Martha I was a wreck after learning about Hope's death, too. It really put me off getting so wrapped up with the bears as I once was. The cost was very dear. And Fern and Herbie, Lily's newer cubs, have never been so emotionally attached to me as was Hope. If Hope had allowed herself to be collared and ribboned, she would still be here, undoubtedly. I can't blame the hunter as I once did, and have tried to let go of my anger and angst. I know how you feel, for sure.

Good Morning,

Finally above freezing at 10:30 a.m. Park water pump quit so no water in the park - I have been using my faulty water pump anyway due to the freezing weather. I must check out the pump on Tuesday!

LeRoy came over yesterday morning and with cold weather is bored so I mentioned hanging my digital photo frame and then the in/out thermometer :) Done and I enjoy the photos tho need to update. Having lived in here a few months, I also did some reorganizing - trading some Rubbermaid drawers in the bedroom closet for more wire shelves.

Red, I use each state's department of transportation for road conditions.

Continued safe travels to all on the road! I think many of us are envious of those in Florida with the warm weather right now!

Good day all

I've been without Internet past several days and phone off and on - some problem at Knology - probably water logged given all the recent rain. Since Internet was down, put my laptop in shop for system upgrade. Hope to get it back on Monday; should have been ready Saturday but not. Raised cane with them and owner loaned me a laptop late yesterday. The operating system is totally foreign to me; having a little trouble figuring out what I'm doing. Cannot believe how technologically obselete I've become.

So exciting to see so many on the move. If weather cooperates, I'll be among them this time next week. The L&E RV101 sounds wonderful; wish I could take it before starting this long journey.

It has been a full week since I've seen any sun but it has been warm along with very wet. Today will be last of warm - high 70; tomorrow high forecast for 42. Potentially severe thunderstorms for this afternoon and tonight with up to 4 more inches of rain before it comes to an end early Tuesday.

I need to go catch up on other posts then get back to remaining tasks at the house.
Wishing all a great day.

It's darn cold here! But at least the sun is shining and thru the window it looks gorgeous. Sure didn't take the Chewmonster long to go out and do her business this morning and the Samcat stuck his nose out and decided the litter box looked more comfy than frosty grass. Nice to have a choice, I guess.

Still messing around getting loaded for Q. Haven't been to the grocery yet, but kind of wanted to wait til the last minute without actually trying to get into the parking lot with rv and car. Probably tomorrow. Got the reefer turned on, tho, so there are some things I can throw in there and pantry stuff. Just not feeling very motivated this trip for some reason. Love camping out there and I'm usually right on it but not this time. Maybe 'cause it's colder than usual.
But I'll get there with sour cream in hand ready for tacos. I'm thinking fish and chips at the Yacht Club sounds good, too. I might go by Santana's and get a couple of dinners to throw in the fridge to save on actually cooking. LOL!

Meeting the daughter and grand for lunch so guess I better get busy, travel safe for those on the road and stay warm for those sitting still.
