Have any of you used Etsy on line for your crafts? Is it easy to use? Pros/cons?

I am thinking of making some items to put on there in the spring.

I did some research on Etsy a couple years ago as I was thinking of putting some of my afghans on there, what I remember is that it is not free
and therefore I didn't do it. Thats the only help I can give you sorry.

Wow, with all you creative, artsy ladies on here, I am surprised none of you have tried that out yet.

I used to make beaded golf stroke counters and sell them to my fellow golfers. I might try selling some on there and see how it goes. Have lots of other ideas of things to make and sell if that goes well. I need to get back into using my creative ideas again.

Etsy is like EBay but only for buying and selling handmade crafts, antiques, and crafting materials.

Barbie, contact some of the golf courses/clubs near you and pitch your product. I know it's winter, but golfers never let a little snow deter them. My father was the best example.Use the winter down time to your advantage. Also find some golf forums, they should have a for sale section, just as we do. linda

I know 3 people who do or have used it. They don't have any real negatives with it, but 2 are no longer using it, but do still sell on line.

An acquaintance used it for a while (before her last child was born; she's far too busy now!) She said that it was quite easy, and the support/learning structure was really good. I've bought a few things on etsy, and that was really easy! i love to poke around there.

I sell on Etsy. Never had a problem with them. It cost .20 to list an item for four months, and they take a commission if the item sells. I have slowed down the last year as I'm not home as much and don't want the commitment. I like to enjoy the summer, they are to short here in MN. One thing nice is... If I'm gone for a while, I can put my site on vacation mode, and no one sees or can buy anything if I'm gone. Lots of competition there. I used to make covers for the kindles and nooks. Right now, just searching for the... kindle covers 14,174 items for sale. So it's all hit and miss if they find your item before mine.

I sell on Etsy, handcrafted items - keeps me busy, keeps me sane (well...sometimes insane sets in with the Minion hat orders LOL), but it the sales keep me in yarn and helps to pay the rent :D

I'm not very crafty, but I haven't really had time to try it out. I do buy things from Etsy - I really like that site and I like knowing that someone has hand made the item I buy. I especially like the jewelry!
