Foggy Friday...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Fri Jan 11, 2013 4:52 am

Good morning, all... :) Well, Carolb is on the road, making it to northern VA last night, and per her PM, is planning an early start today, so thought I'd start the coffee and make you some muffins to get you started here...it's foggy with a little drizzle right now and still dark at 4:30am....and I'm up way too early.. but I probably will lay back down in an hour or 2 to get a few more "winks" before starting the day.... ;)

Got the 5er back in order yesterday, just in time for the rain.... well, at least I know that the floor's clean.... and Ernie & Spinner both wiped their feet of wet sandy soil at least last night....

It's suppose to be a warm and sunny weekend, so may get to do some stuff outside....

Okay, well, looks like to be more chatty I need to have some more coffee and get the brain going...so will stop for now...

Top of the morning to ya'll and have a great day... :D

Good morning Lori, Linda & everyone!

Lori, how is your pinky? I know you'll have a good visit with Carolb this afternoon and we're looking forward to pictures!

Linda, it will only be a couple weeks and we'll be seeing you at the FL GTG!

It's another mild morning in Ocala and it'll get into the low 80's again today and the nice weather will continue through the weekend. I hope the weather has calmed down for those in the Louisiana area. We are expecting a visit from Carolb this weekend, also! I'm going to sip on my chocolate milk and see what the rest of you are doing. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday! I've got groceries to buy today and dust bunnies to herd...that's about it. Such an exciting life! I know, I know, my day will come. Patience isn't one of my virtues though!

Having squirrel issues here this year. Seems they have moved closer and with this being their mating season, they have really gotten brave. For the second time they have come up to my back door and chewed thru the 25$ hose from the grill to the gas tank! I read that they like to sharpen their teeth! Guess I will have to start removing the hose each time and bringing it into the house. What a pain!

Cats are fat and happy, son # 2 made it back home safe and sound, gd is keeping up with her school work and her social life...guess all is right in my world!

I'm missing seeing my rv parked in the driveway this winter though. I took it to my mechanic to have it winterized right before thanksgiving. When he pulled it back around front for me to come pick it up, he thought he had set the park brake, but hasn't. So, she drifted a bit, hit a curb and a metal mailbox, cracking the front bumper and scratching the drivers side. I had to laugh when he told me, because this rig definitely has a self destruct mode! Anyway, he has done the repairs needed but hasn't gotten it inside to paint yet. I wasn't planning on going anywhere any time soon anyway, and it is winterized...but the driveway sure does seem big and empty without her parked there! I'm still trying to figure out how to get it traded in on something smaller. I'm going to have to travel somewhere to do so though, because there is only one local rv dealer around me, and they don't have what I want. And despite her desire to self destruct, she is a very nice rig...once parked you are definitely home. But I just don't need anything that big and would like smaller so I can feel more comfortable taking the road less traveled.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful day and a fantastic weekend. Looking forward to pictures from the mini gtg in ga today. Living vicariously...

GOOD MORNING ALL!

YAY to Carolb, out on the roads and well on her way to sunny FL! CONGRATS, Carol! I'll see you soon! Idsn't it fun to know your house is right with you??!! :)

Good to hear from you, Paulette. Your granddaughter must be a teeneager now, yes? She is so lucky to have her grandma to let her become a wonderful adult who might love to camp! Hope your camper comes back better than new!

Lori, will you and Ernie be getting a visit from Carolb? If so, take some pics! And you, too, Irmi and Steve! Wish I had more time before the GTG to take a trip to visit, but doc appointments have me chained for now.

Linda, you will be at the FL GTG, yes? Will be fun to see you again!

Off to cut up the huge branches from the orange trees I cut down yesterday so I can pack them into the truck to haul them to St. Cloud-----son says they will make great campfire wood. Doc appointment this afternoon---number 6----almost half through the schedule now. Will head to son's after that, and after I pack stuff to take to GTG. Will have to take canoe next weekend, however, with those orange trees in the truck! I need to fill my propane tank in the trailer, too. Also schedule a truck servicing, new truck pricing, new tire pricing, waranty extension pricing, and try to make a decision about whether to keep truck or try to trade.

This summer weather is fantastic, and I am loving it! It's 15 deg. F. back home, and almost 70 down here already. YIPPEE!!!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Saw the sun yesterday afternoon, saw the sunrise this morning (gorgeous), but by time I made it to work, high clouds have already rolled back in with more to come this weekend. I know we need to recover from our drought the last two years, but all in one week?

People are on the move or getting ready to get moving for GTGs east and west of me! Still trying to decide if I want to try to make a GTG this spring. Even with 6 weeks of vacation, I need to carefully plan my vacation time.

Morning Lori, Linda, Carolb, Soos and everyone else.

Sorry to say I have not been on for a few days. Have a lot of posts to catch up on again. Have been mostly working on feeling better. Have a good day, then it rains again and have another bad day. My allergies have been in uproar here. Way too many pine trees around me. Talked to Paul yesterday. He is sick now so we are not leaving today, but will be leaving MS on Wednesday next week making our way toward the FL GTG. Cannot wait.

I am so glad Carolb is on the road and so excited. I know she will have a great time with Lori and Ernie. Everyone who has ever met them has from all the posts. Someday I, too, hope to be in their area.

Soos, glad you are half way through with your treatments. Cannot wait to meet you in FL.

Was really glad to hear about Sprinter. Was glad it was a bad infection and not cancer. It's going to be hard to battle from what I understand and slow to get over, but with all her friends rallying around her, she is in good hands. Thank you, Birdie!

I have been working on lining up a Workamper job for this summer. I have applied to and am hoping to get on as a Camp Host at Lake Murray SP in OK. My friends Camp Host there and that would be a good place for me to start learning about this new life style. Have also been applying at different CG's in the South East states.

Time for another cup of coffee then into the shower. Have appointment to take the dogs to be groomed. Have to drive about an hour from here to get to a groomer. None any closer in any direction. While they are being groomed, Mom and I will go have lunch at the casino there and probably spend an hour or so playing the slots. Wish me luck.

Everyone have a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Hi everyone. Just a quick note. I over did so much yesterday that my neck and back hollered loud and got the worse head ache. Instead of my stomach the knot was in my neck, shoulders, back and head :( So I put the brakes on and went to Massage Envy for deep tissue and heat therapy. Came home and just relaxed. This AM my list is still a mile long, however I have to take a more " liassez faire " attitude if I'm gonna survive just the preparations for the vacation :P Wishing everyone a warm and happy day. If you are on the road, stay safe. Aloha y'all

LOL Red, I remember those days! I cannot believe how much I stressed before Chuck and I took off for somewhere in the 5th wheel. Was always worried I would forget something. Always found out even if I did, it was OK. Never the end of the world. You will be on the road before you know it and all will be good. Have fun!

Pssst Red - they have Wal-Marts in AZ!!!! I bought a new crockpot while on vacation. I had debated whether to pack mine or not, then when we got out there, really wished to be able to just throw things in the pot and have a hot meal when we got in from sightseeing.

Good morning friends! I saw the sun a minute ago, but now its gone back in!Well, now its out again! I am loving the warm, but not the rain. Pretty much ready to leave for Fla, except for what can't go in until last And a lot of payday chores to do on Weds. Wish I could just relax and enjoy the ride, but I am so ready for a change of scenery. Everyone have FUN today and those on the road be watchful! Wendy

Good Morning !!! Hard to believe it is still morning :D Been a very busy one. I'm setting in the waiting area of Freightliner here in Orlando area, RV is getting a Ck-up and oil change. Could have put more mileage on but I am having a hard time doing 10,000 miles between services. Old vehicles have always done every 3000 miles. Huge difference :o of course, service on this rig is more costly, so it shouldn't take to long to adjust my thinking and ways

Glad to hear Carolb is moving along, she will enjoy her visits along the way, sounds like she will know quite a few before the GTG.

Sorry to hear your allergies are causing you troubles, Dawn. Sounds like you should get away from those trees. My DD has bad problems with trees, certain times of the year. I missed you on here, but thought maybe you were working and busy, get feeling better soon. :o

Red, Like Dawn said whatever you forget, it will be ok. Most important is for you to be well for your trip, Slow down and take care of you !!

Lori hope the hand is doing ok. Still wishing you all could make the Fl GTG.

Everyone enjoy your day, those traveling Stay Safe ,
CArol :)

No rain and no sun here today. I don't think there is any road flooding down here but when I went to town Wednesday the river was as high as I have ever seen it. Not to people's houses but over the bank. I think most of the flooding is North and West of Lafayette. The news was interviewing people in Crowley and they said they had never seen so much water in Crowley. I told my DH that we have seen that much water in Crowley. We were going to a horse show and had to go through a flooded Crowley. The water was almost coming in the truck. My smart DH said there weren't many people as old as we are. :( I-10 was even flooded between Crowley and Jennings and they were just letting one vehicle at a time go down the middle of the lanes.

Maggie, I wish we could have shared more of the rain with Texas because we didn't need it.

I'm a list maker and before every trip I will have at least 3 lists going and can't keep up with 2 of them. No matter how ready I think I am it seems like I sill have to make 50 trips from the house to the motorhome before I pull out. And I will still forget something. I even forgot our underwear one time. I know I will have to stop at Walmart for something. When we were showing horses I would have to pack for 4 people and get everything ready to leave. He would want to leave at 2:00 am and I wouldn't even have been to bed. I can't sleep in a vehicle so I would be wiped out the next day. I couldn't do that today.

Paulette, too bad you don't have a bunch of barn cats. I have never seen one with a squirrel but they don't let them set up house in the yard. Of course the cat food bill is more than $25 a month so cheaper to buy new hoses.

Think I'll head out to town because it's suppose to start raining again tomorrow.
