Good morning all! My BIG day...

Yikes, I did see weather map for the mid-soth! Red, I thot yew were on the road, bt it's this Sat?--hope the weather clears for yore travels. Excellent weather for me! And I'm so thankfol for all yore good wishes, so I'll do my best to post along the way--I expect it to be a 2-3 day trip to my destination....

I'll be on the road in a cople hrs, taking deep breaths now as I drink my coffee & wait for lawndry! I have Irmi & Lori keeping tabs on me (thanks to both of yew!!!), as I will see them on my way to the GTG. Now, Soos, Donna & JdyB, where are yew? Are yew on my rowte? I'll hit J'ville, head west to catch 301 to Reddick/Ocala. Well, I'll see y'all at the GTG!!!

MC yesterday was a bit qwiet--Barbie, how's the new job??? BJ, Elsie all ready for the road? Catherine, I for one especially wish yew were going to be at owr "birth place" !

Carol, I'm so excited for you to head out today to meet so many of the gang. Ok, a little jealous too but I know my time will come. The college kids came in town for a couple of days & we're headed into some interesting days at the office implementing big upgrades & planning for the new phone system so God has provided lots of distractions for me.
I know yew will relish every minute & every mile along the way... This is what it's all about - the journey & being with good friends.
Surrounding all with prayers for safe travels & good health...

Good morning, all....Coffee's going here....slept in and am in the mood to get this 5er cleaned up today...while my guys are gone...Ernie's going down to Darien today to get some fire wood for the campfire and Visit with our friend, Andy, there.....Spinner's got an appt. at "Doggie Daycare and Spa" for play time, massaging, deep cleaning bath, that stinky gland cleaned, and nails clipped.... I get so much done when they aren't under-foot...

Carolb is on the road!!! Safe travels, lady.....I do believe there will be a mini-GTG sometime tomorrow here in GA....

Okay, better go get dressed and get Spinner up to the "Spa" for his day of Fun....

Good Morning Carolb, Lori, Catherine and all who follow,

Carolb, I wish you safe travels on your journey south and also an awesome time. I envy you being able to hit the road. Like Catheine, my time will come too, just need to be paitent. If I were in your shoes, I would be so excited to hit the road, that I wouldn't be bothering with coffee, but of course one must wait for some daylight these days.

Lori sounds like she's going to get into some "house cleaning" and her "men folk" are going to be gone. Tell Ernie if he wants firewood, to come see me. I have all these nice trees down up here I'll be Spinner is going to be feeling so good when he gets home.

Ms. Tessa and I have a visit to the vet lined up for this morning. She hasn't seen him since we went north for the past month, so it's time for a check in. She's holding her own as far as the kidney disease is concerned. But I noticed that both of them aren't too active since we got back home. Bored. Want to head back north again, as they so love it up there. I'm back into my busy doing stuff and they aren't happy cause we aren't doing those 2 or 3 walks each day where they can get out and sniff and just enjoy the freedom . Here we are confined to the road cause of the snow and not much going on in the sub or surrounding area. Actually, my heart wants to be back up there too

So, I guess after the vet and my chiropractor appt, plus one quick trip to the store, I will get busy sawing up some more limbs and branches out there. Great weather to work on that. We are in the midst of a warming trend, but it leaves on Sunday. Snow is melting and rain is expected tonight into tomorrow morning, then back to sun for Saturday again.

Time to get the ball rolling here, so have a wonderful day all. Hope all of you that have been sick, are on the mend as well.

Good morning everyone. Carolb is hitting the road. Heave a great time and stay safe. You'll love your first gtg. Catherine, I know what you mean. When you love to travel, it is hard when everyone is out there doin what you love. But your day is coming. Lori, don't overdo with your hurt hand!! It would also be a nice day to do "alone" stuff as well just sayin. Sur, hope Tessa' appt goes well. I loved your pictures and stories from up north. I think the hardest part about a trip is coming home And getting back to whatever routine you have.

As for me, yep going nuts getting it all pulled together so we can leave. DH got the truck ready. Oil change, tire rotation, new spot lights installed in the front grill, and a locking roll top for the truck bed. Now he is cleaning all the shot guns and rifles before they get locked in the safe and selecting the ones that will go with us I get to do everything else The weather is good today. Clear, a warm 68. The groomer cancelled Tyler's appt yesterday cuz of all the weather and flood warnings. Now rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon. I'm not gonna stress. If we don't leave on Sat the world will not come to an end.....but I may implode Everyone have a great day. Stay safe if you are on the road. Aloha y'all

Good morning Ladies !!! I'm back at my sis home in the central part of Fl. Have several things to do here, oil change etc. on RV, plus more meds for Maggie and I, etc. etc. There is also a PA park here that accepts the pass for 14 days each yr.(no restrictions as to time of yr), not far from here which is where I plan to locate and let all my friends know so they can visit me, instead of me running all over. Some do not have driveways that I can park in etc.

So excited for you, Carolb, finally on the road today, hoping you have a really safe and enjoyable trip. Will be following your trip, not sure what your route is, but sounds like you have several GTGs planned already. I'm in central area of Fl., so will keep watch for you,

One load of laundry today that I didn't do at CG. Then not sure what my day will be. My sis and DH are both working, so I can do whatever my little heart desires, now to just find what that might be.

Ok - those in LA need to check in. What came through here yesterday was headed that way. We got lots of rain, with another thunderstorm moving through just as I went to bed last night. I haven't seen the rainfall totals for my side of town, but I would imagine close to 3" over the last 2 days.

I too am jealous of all those hitting the road - even though I had my 2 weeks on the road!

I need to figure out when and where my next trip will be - probably a weekend, maybe a long one. Maybe I need to book some state park time during peak wildflower time.

I will have to see where Wickham Park is and perhaps I can drive my truck there for a mini visit, although I am not ready to haul my trailer there yet, I don't believe! I will check on a map and let you know. What days will you be there? I have another zapping appointment here in Orlando for tomorrow afternoon, and then I am free until Monday afternoon. Another beautiful day down here in sunny FL----nice breeze and warm temps and sun. What more could one hope for?

Carol, glad you are parked for a while now to rest up for the big shindig! If I were closer, I would stop by pre-GTG, but not ready for that due to my having to be here at doc's 3 days a week until the Friday before that big event.

Red, glad to hear from you this morning, and, as you said, hope those in Louisiana area check in soon. (I assume LA was there and not Los Angeles as that was where the bad weather was predicted.)

Gonna take my orange trees down today with my battery-powered chain saw so I can plant new ones....I so love squeezing my own fresh juice from sun-warmed oranges directly off the trees. I hope I can find some little trees I can manage to plant that won't take a lifetime to produce fruit! Then maybe to the club pool for an afternoon swim.

Good morning gals! This is my third try at posting this morning!

Job is going good. Lots to learn.

Still having occasional anxiety attacks but otherwise feeling much better from that flu thing I had. There have been 2 teenagers in MN that died this week from the flu. My dad's renter was taken to the hospital on Tuesday from complications of the flu. Nothing to mess with and must be taken seriously!

I sure wish I was able to get to Florida and the GTG. Feel so bad I can't make it. I really need a vacation! Sounds like the weather is going to be wonderful this year for it too! I remember two (or was that 3 ?) years ago it snowed!

We are having a January thaw right now. It is almost 40 degrees now. However, that will change this weekend with temps back in the single digits. Still not as cold as it usually gets this time of year.

We haven't floated off yet. My DH said the 5" rain gauge overflowed yesterday and it was almost 5" this morning so we have had over 10 inches of rain so far and it's still raining. It's raining slow enough that it can drain off some. The pastures are full but we can still see where the ponds are. My son and I had a good laugh yesterday. He said DH would be building an ark and I said that DH and Noah would have had a problem with loading the ark. Noah wouldn't have been doing it right.

The weather woke me up about 4:00 this morning. The cats and I were sitting here looking at each other. There was a tornado warning northeast of Lafayette so not close but it was raining hard, thundering and the wind was blowing hard.

Yesterday one of my college roommates was going to be in Lafayette. I called to see if I could get a hair cut and got in. Then I headed off to Lafayette to visit with my friend. I hadn't seen her in a few years. It was good to see her and talk about all the crazy things we did. I had forgotten some of them. Back then the school tried to keep a close eye on the girls so we had to lie about where we were going most of the time. Compared to today we weren't really that wild. I only got sent to the Dean of Women once. They had just come out with something like wine coolers and 2 of my friends and I each got one. They didn't like theirs so I drank all three. I think they were stronger than the wine coolers we have today. During the week we had to be in the dorm by 10:00 and 12:00 on the weekend unless we said we were going home.

I envy everyone hitting the road for a GTG. Hope all this rain doesn't head for Florida and make a mess there.

So far so good here in SW LA. We got 5 inches of rain yesterday and last night. I think it's mostly moved west towards Martha and Carolyn now, but it's supposed to start raining again Sat. We had water about an inch from coming in the house last night. I dug a little trench and drained some off, then we got another downpour and it was back up. My nephew came over and dug a trench across the new driveway topping we had installed and let move drain off. The water in the front and side ditches seems to be going down this morning, but we still will have a threat of flooding until around Wed. of next week because of the runoff getting to the rivers. I'm pretty optimistic that we'll be okay. I did see a pic posted on FB where a 5th wheel trailer was turned over in Breaux Bridge and the man was taken to the hospital but was doing okay. Hope the ladies over that way are okay.

EDIT: Martha posted at the same time, wow 10 inches!

Barbie, thanks for checking in so we didn't have to send someone to hunt for you. Glad that the new shop feels better for you. Learning new stuff is good, keeps the brain fexible. Understand the watching the budget thing, there are many reasons why some of us had to wait until some responsible point to start our own adventures. Being the independent kind means we really don't want to depend on being rescued by someone else if we can avoid it with good planning!

I couldn't wait any longer and did start taking "non-freeze-ables" out to the Short Bus... I am counting on some nice weather. Those that know me, know that I get cold easily but I only packed three turtle necks and a bunch of short sleeved/sleeveless tops. I will depend on layers in order to survive the expected fluctuations. Stuart looked very interested when he saw me take the extra leashes and collars from the doggy storage rack.


The property closing has officially been scheduled for Monday at 5 PM.

Internet is really slow today so everything is taking awhile!

So another beautiful day in the desert yesterday to see Dripping Springs - at this time of year 1 drip every 2 to 3 seconds. I posted on this in 2011 but I am hoping I got better photos yesterday - haven't even looked yet.

We came home to find LeRoy had a new neighbor (making him my back door neighbor) that doesn't understand where the side of his site is. The manager wasn't here so L just dealt with it. Guy, wife and BIL were jerks. He didn't move it as far as he should, but at least we could get L's towing rig parked. So we will just have hostile neighbors, but we don't have to deal with them. Wrong .... the guy decided to get petty this morning. L had already talked to the manager about what happened. I was in my rig and heard the guy telling L the rules. I went to the manager, told him I didn't need to be hearing this. Don marched right over, checked in with L to see what had just happened and then Don preceded to put the jerk in his place!! At least they are only here a few days. This sort of thing doesn't happen often, but it sure makes me uncomfortable when it does, and I can't exactly move on right now.

We made a run to the veggie stand and the Family Dollar - I got batteries to try my new mini Casio keyboard - love it!

I guess I would rather have the 20+ degree nights that are coming rather than the rain and storms some of you are having!
