Morning Carol and all that follow. Not a relaxing day at all for me. Moving day and a medical appt. Will leave here in a just a few and drive to Jacksonville for an ultrasound on my breast to follow up on last year's biopsy. Will know results right away which is good. Once I finish with them I will come back and move. Hoping to get down to St Augustine this afternoon for a day or 2. Too nervous for breakfast yet so will leave that to those who follow.

Good Morning ladies,

Thought I had better check in here, before you all think I drove off the Mackinaw Bridge or something on my way home Saturday. Actually, trip was uneventful, good weather and no traffic till I got closer to home. Made about 3 stops for potty calls, dogs and I both, and one to grab something to eat.

I really enjoyed my month in the U.P. and plan to do it again this year. However, like all fun things, eventually we have to comeback to realilty and I sure did when I drove into my drive. Now, I knew from my neighbor and the news reports, that the snowstorm we caught the edge of in the U.P., had caused a considerable amount of damage in this area, not to mention power outages etc. Well, seeing pictures and the actual thing are two differnt things. This is what I came home to;

Image This tree fell part way across my drive, but my neighbor cut it back for me before I got home
Image one small tree down in the wooded area west of my house
Image That mound of snow covered brush, is or was my lilac bush
Image the tree top from one of my big pines in my backyard which fortunatly missed my fence
Image More limbs from another pine, some of which I have already cut up in order to get my snow blower into the yard and clear an area for the dogs to go "potty".
Image And three trees down as well, plus I think that I may have one that is leaning, taken down as well
Also have a couple of limbs down from my oak tree by my garage.

So, needless to say, I've been busy since I got home, between dealing with unpacking, getting my dogs some room to get out in the yard, clearing off at least 2 feet of snow on my deck, shopping, banking, chatching up on paperwork, mail and the usual things you have to do when you have been gone. Today, I'm kind of slowing down a bit. Just had breakfast, the which of I have eggs, sausage, toats, bacon and peaches here if anybody's hungry. Have a load of wash going and will clean up the dishes in a short. Then finish unpacking from my trip and put that stuff away before venturing out and working on cutting up some more of the limbs that I can get to and can use my Sawzall on. The rest will need to be removed by somebody else after the snow melts, probably in spring. I'm ready to head out of here and hit the road again

I can feel the excitement from those getting ready to leave for the FL GTG. Also glad to hear that Barbie has started her new job and that you are finally through with GC. Hope you never go back to them again. Sorry to hear you gave up Shama, bu I can understand. Another dog in the future perhaps, after Lola is gone maybe. After all you went through to get her and gain her trust, she deserves to live her life the way she's comfortable, in a one pet household for now.

I've got to do some reading and catching up on here. Plan to do that this week as weather is going to be nice today and up till Thursday night, so taking advantage of it and going outside. I sure do miss our long walks up in the U.P. as we don't have too many places to walk here now, with winter and deep snow. I did go for one yesterday over on the next road from here, now that the county has finally been able to plow the roads good. So many trees and limbs down, it took time to clear them away and get the roads open the way they should be. Everywhere we walked yesterday, there were piles of limbs and branches along the road edges.

The post is going to be long enough, so am calling it quits for today. Wishing you all a wonderful da, happy dreaming and packing to those heading for FL.

Yep, the rain has started here. We've been warned about sever weather for the next 24 hrs. Shear winds, rain, hail, tornado!! whipee :x I got almost all of the outside stuff done yesterday. Took down the outdoor Xmas lights while the guys were on the 2nd story roof installing the DirectTV dish. After the weather rolls past, I'll take the receiver out to the rig and figure out how to get the portable dish set up. Did it once when Dawn lent us her receiver and dish. looks pretty easy "plug and play" . Today, I'll probably head over to Costco to do a big shopping for the trip and stock supplies for the house as well. We are trying to depart on Saturday!!! Looks like we should hit a clear patch of weather to head west. However it is suppose to snow in Las Cruces on Tuesday. Looks like clear weather for the next weeks in AZ. And Yes, I have a knot in my stomach. All this rushing and stress to go relax. Go figure. But, as Dawn said, I am a nomad at heart, whether if by land, air or sea, I have always had wanderlust. Everyone have a great day, stay warm and safe. Aloha y'all

Woke up to thunderstorms on my side of town this morning, Red. I didn't think the heavy stuff was supposed to hit until later. As Red said, they are predicting the possibility of just about anything except locusts and snow. We are under a flash flood watch for the next couple of days with 3-6" of rain predicted. My little area already had 0.5" when I left for work.

I'm getting excited for all of you getting ready to head out for GTGs, whether it be east or west of me.

Red - did you decide what your stops are going to be as you head west? Oh, if you do stop in Las Cruces, we ate at Luna Rossa Winery and Pizzeria - surprisingly good pizza and surprisingly so-so wine :D. I did enjoy a merlot. Hacienda was a nice RV park (excuse me, resort) but it was pricey.

Quickly popping in as I wanted everyone to please say a prayer or use your good vibes for Enzo's Mom, Kellene. As I type she is going into surgery for a hysterectomy. She has had continuing problems since Enzo's birth and has went above and beyond with treatments, but to no avail. She is sad that at such an early age, 29, she is faced with this decision. Thanks, ladies.

So many things going on with everyone!

Hoping for a clean bill of health for HorizonSeeker! Glad you will know right away - we are waiting a week for the biopsy my brother had yesterday from his vocal chords.

Sue, not what you want to come home to, but I am glad it wasn't worse.

To those getting ready to hit the road this week, I hope the weather cooperates!

This is way too early for me, but we are leaving at 8:30, hauling the RZR 30 miles for a ride up a mountain where the Smithsonian had a weather station back in the 20's. It is also cold, but warmer than it has been at this hour for quite some time (or so it seems). I have been on this trip before and am going more for the company than the ride. Our friends from Alberta have their DD and SIL visiting so that's the reason for this ride.

Time to put on the warm clothes! Everyone have a good day whatever you are doing!

Good Morning all, Sorry Sue for all the damage at your place during the storm. It's so sad to lose a tree and especially a lilac bush. Carol take some deep breaths and try to stay calm, as I keep repeating to myself :) I don't plan to leave until around the 22nd but I'm right there with you with the anxiety.
I did get Elsie back from the garage yesterday HOORAY I want to drive her around a lot before I go to be sure all her new parts are working right. So far she sounds good, the woman who owns the shop said she took her out for a couple of test drives and refers to her as my beautiful RV, maybe she took a short trip as long as it was there! Now I have to call the RV place to get the refrigerator looked at and at least one battery replaced.
I have a stack washer and dryer and I noticed some water in the floor behind it, not a good sign! When I called the repair place and told them what it was and that it was in a very tight place they said they will have to send two men$$$ That will be interesting as two men won't fit in the little pantry that the unit is in, should be interesting!
Winnie says she is faint with hunger as her breakfast is late so guess I best get with it before I have mutiny in the ranks.
All who are headed out have fun and be safe. And special thoughts to Horizonseeker this morning for a good report.

Have not decided on specific stops getting us as far as Las Cruces. Everything depends on what time we actually hit the road on Sat. DH is not an early riser. Then we'll see how long/far he can drive and we'll find a place. Would like to get west of San Antonio first day. I have my notes from everyone about places to stay once we figure out what is realistic for us. Plan to spend a little time in Las Cruces. Want to see if the house we lived in at White Sands proving grounds is still there. My brother was born in Las Cruces. Dad was a rocket/missile engineer back in the 50s and worked on designing and testing. I remember watching the missiles launch on a regular basis :P Did look at the RV park online and it is on the list for Las Cruces :P Not knowing what our pace will be is difficult to make reservations ahead of time.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Exciting times with many heading south, coming my way! Sorry to hear about the nasty weather with scary predictions, however. Our weather down here, for those headed this way, is for record-breaking temperatures on the high side, and sun and more sun! So take heart, watch your maps and predictions, take your time, and have a fun time on the roads. I can't wait to see you all!

I am rather chained to this area for another couple of weeks, as I need to get all those zapping appointments in before I head out to the west coast and my campsite. Right now I need to begin to make me a list of things to not forget to pack, get my canoe ready to take to St. Cloud so I can pack that when I leave, clean out the back of my truck to make room for bike and whatever else I decide I can't do without! My under-the-awning fold-up table is in need of a repalcement, as it now has dips in its surface, making it difficult to keep things standing upright. I got me a small crock pot (9.99 at Walmart) yesterday for my hot dip that Wendy requested, so I am happy about that. I already have some extra bins to pack food and whatever in in the back of the truck. I think I will be ok, what with those stores nearby over there at the campground.

Sun is coming out now, doors are open, and maybe today I will try the pool to see how cold it is at the club. If to cold, there is always the hot tub!

Thanks for the snowy pics, Sue! Looks much like I am sure my northern home is at this point.

As I tried to post this, noticed that others have joined....sure hope those biopsies turn out to be benign. The wait is always agonizing. I am so sorry for Enzo's mom----what a shame for her. But your little Enzo will be just that much more spoiled as he grows up now.

Have a fun Tuesday, everyone!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning !!! Maggie and I, have moved, we're at a favorite type place of hers :D This is such a nice park, large sites. We stayed a week here last year, only a couple of days for now, plan to move back north of here before the wk-end. We have only walked a portion of it, doing laundry got in the way :? Beautiful day, weather may get to be a wee bit warm , I'm thinking. May have to drag out the shorts. AC is sure to get a work out.

There is a large family of kids here having a great time. Riding bikes, scooters, running, not sure what site they're in or how many kids but lots of them :D

My cold is still hanging on, never get them but when I do they love me and won't leave. :( Couldn't take meds yesterday as needed to drive, so that probably didn't help.

Praying all the test and treatments and surgery go well today. Seems we're all doing our share to keep medical people and drugs in business

I need to find my calendar for this year ! Try to plan my time before GTG, so I don't wander to far away. This cold has made a change of plans, had a friend I planned to visit near Lakeland, but she has had pneumonia this past year and still trying to get rid of it. She has had it several times in past years and bad allergies, so I have to stay clear of her until this is gone. So shifting plans, gotta find that calendar !!! :D

Think Maggie and I, are going for another walk. Going to be really warm here soon, and I promised her lots of walks here, we both need it.

Oh almost forgot, yesterday's subject, nerves before a trip. I've been doing this alone, 12 years this month, over 100,000 miles between my two rigs. This does not count miles racked up in my car, for trips. Before each trip I wonder am I crazy ? I make myself climb in and leave home, a few miles down the road I feel free and the feeling of never going back home moves in and I always have the best of times. In other words, think you might have to get used to the nerves before each trip  If you ever get rid of them, let the rest of us know your secret :?

Have a great day, those on the road Stay Safe, Whatever your day holds , ENJOY !!!!!!

If you were my fur baby, Maggie, you would love CGs , especially St Pks or National or Forest. She says the others usually are not much fun to stay more then overnight. When she gets out of the RV she thinks a walk is in order

Sorry you're not sure where you are !!!  I would love to meet you , but probably better you won't be at the Fl GTG, 2 four legged Maggie's being called etc, might be very confusing to you  Gosh you had the name first !!!!!!!!!

Sorry,
