Good Morning Carolb and all lmy forum sisters,

Just stopping by for a quick hi. Today is the day to hit the road for home, but am waiting a bit for some daylight out there so i can see to pack the van. Dark and cold right now. Everything's sitting by the door, just need to wrap up the final things, get dressed, run the vac over the place one more time and we shall be on our merry way. Course going to stop for breakfast on the way since nobody's up yet except Carol

Didn't get on here yesterday, so got some catching up to do. What's this with Barbie's dad? And Lori's Dr. appt. results? Yep, definitely gotta catch up.

Was such a beautiful day yesterday, that after I finished jpacking up stuff and running the vac around here, I took the dogs and we headed for Marquette. Wanted to go see what was going on at the ore loading dock and also be by Lake Superior for a bit. Didnt even feel like January yesterday. Got some neat pics and will post them after I get home along with the others I have been taking since I"ve been here. Was a good day. We even threw in a nice walk after we got back.

But all good things must come to an end and so I am going to head back south. Hope you all have a good day. If you are under the weather with flu or colds etc. hope you get over them and get to feeling better. If you are going to be on the road safe travels.

Good morning, Carolb, and all that follow....Slept well without pain meds last night, so I'm on the mend....we went out with the "gang" of friends here last night....had supper at the PX food court then to the "Club" for music and a glass of wine... ;) We celebrated our friend, George's, Birthday. He and his wife, Claire, are RV "vets" of over 30 yrs. and both in their 80s.... :o I do believe Beth, Tina, and Peggy have met them when they visited us here in the past.....They are the folks who took over the "hosting duties" here after us....and are doing a great job at it.....Cathy, the CG Mgr., has the job refined to the point that where it isn't as labor intense as it use to be....Cathy states that they both are in their glory and she is "tickled" that George & Claire enjoy it so much.....Keeps them young... ;)

Spinner is back to his "bouncy" self....still takes it easy getting into the camper, but he's back to "chasing squirrels" and playing with his tug-toys....will continue to give him a half of of 81 mg. aspirin twice a day for a couple more days, but believe he's "all better"... ;)

Okay, got the coffee going with some biscuits and jelly for ya'..... :D Enjoy and have a great day.... :D

SQUIRRELS...... (that is for Spinner from his friend Stuart, who is glad to hear that he is feeling better and completely understands his hobby.... ) The rest of us are also glad that you are feeling better. Stuart would be glad, too, but once he heard the word SQUIRRELS, his brain stopped processing any other thoughts..... :o

GOOD LATE MORNING TO ALL!

As far as sleeping late, these days I have been staying up late into the wee early hours of the morning doing crossword puzzles in my bed, and then sleeping in until the sun's rays awaken me! It gets light at about 7:00, and then I turn back over and snooze again until at least 8:00! Molly is fooled, as she thinks we should still get up at day break! Oh well, I feel no guilt whatsoever as I have earned the right to use my mornings as I see fit after having to get up in time for school for over 40 years! Enjoy your "slothfulness" if you are lucky enough to be allowed it, I say. :)

I thought about Barbie's father again last night as my head hit my pillow, and sure do hope she has someone near enough to the man to prohibit his handing over any more money to some criminal. I know that with her having the flu, she certainly doesn't have enough strength to deal with this now. I pray that if/when I ever decide to do something like that with my money (HAH! What money??) somebody will swoop in and save me.

The weather is clearing off right now, and it's fairly warm out there, so I guess after my clothes dry, we will pack up and head to St. Cloud so the pups can run their tails off for a couple of days. I need to be back here for my 2:15 zap appointment on Monday, which will be easy.

Happy to hear that Spinner is feeling better and that squirrels are once again in mortal danger! Now all the rest of you who are suffering maladies need to get that lucky, too.

Gotta get moving----catch you all later.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

The William is excited to hear about squirrels, too! When he was younger (before arthritis), he kept trying to climb trees after them. They are all in hibernation here, alas.

I had such a fine time yesterday, having lunch with one of "my kids" who finished her BA in December and will start a professional job on Monday. Today is coffee with another, who has just finished his first semester of grad school, and is so excited about the work. It makes me so happy to see them living full, happy, productive lives. What a great weekend I'm having! :D

I wish a really great weekend to everybody here, too.

Peaches says squirrels? Where? She misses them something fierce. And this is being written while I'm still laying comfie in bed dreading the cold morning walk she loves. Luckily, as long as I stay in bed, so does she. Well, until she heard that word, squirrels.

Good morning all. Been working on getting caught up on all the postings. Still have more to go but figured I needed to check in with you ladies today. Other than for work, have not been online as much as usual. Been battling the allergy/cold thing too. Going to be working on getting Mom moved into her new little cabin today. She went to Walmart to get some things for it yesterday. She was so excited yesterday afternoon putting things into the refrigerator there.

Barbie, definitely get your DB over to your Dad's to protect him from the vulture trying to take him. You are still under the weather and a man is more intimidating to a scammer. Towards the end, I had to keep Chuck off the phone because he started to say yes to every telephone solicitor he talked to. Especially the ones asking for a donation for some cause. He just wanted to help everyone.

We are going to be moving Mom into her cabin today. Been watching out the window here in the rig to see when she and youngest DB get there so I can start carrying her things down there to her. It's supposed to start raining again today, so will be working on getting her stuff moved and keep it dry at the same time. I am glad I can see her cabin from where I am parked and she will be in it prior to us leaving. Want to make sure she is OK and happy. It would have been great if she had been younger when taking to the road. This is just too hard for her now.

I am really enjoying all the posts from AZ and the GTG's going on there. Keep 'em coming. Been thinking about maybe going to AZ to see Quartsize next winter. Either that or the Valley area in TX. Just know I am looking forward to FL and hopefully warmer, dryer weather.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

good morning ladies
the girls just finished their breakfast and went back to bed, although Pixie chose to snuggle into the kennel instead. She hates the medicine
I give her so she's having a little attitude right now. Did not drive out to the rv yesterday and probably won't today either. I'd rather do
my hair :D cause looking at my gas gauge when I filled the tank last payday, I still have almost two weeks of gas for getting back and forth to
work and that means I don't have to fill it on this paycheck. Don't want to change those dynamics of the gas tank. Makes sense to me cause I
like to hang on to as much money as possible from paycheck to paycheck so I don't ever want to find myself struggling like before. I look forward
to changing my budget system next month. Save, save, save :D so I can buy buy buy :D the things I need for the remodel. Well, enough of that.
Its been windy here lately and this morning I don't see the trees moving around so hopefully the wind is done for awhile. I hate getting out in
the wind so maybe today I can get the car packed up with the bags of goodwill stuff and get those out of my way. Being that its Saturday of
course I have laundry to do. Think today I'll pull the rugs and get those washed up as well.
Off to get my breakfast, I think some toast sounds good with a banana and time for a fresh pot of coffee. Ya'll have a great day, be safe in your
travels and stay warm.

Good morning everyone!

Carolb, it's so nice seeing you open the MC today. You must be an early riser to be here first thing. It won't be long and you'll be heading to FL!

So good hearing that Lori didn't have to take pain meds last night. Dawn, I hope your Mom's move into the cabin goes well and that she is happy there. Barbie, please keep close tabs on your father. Maybe since your brother is his POA, he can start taking over his finances.

It started off chilly here in Ocala this morning but the sun is shining and we'll get well into the 60's today. After tomorrows rain, there will be warming trend. Liz will be picking me up in the morning so I can go to church with her. She stopped by a couple days ago for a visit and it was so nice seeing her. Thistle is a charming dog!

I hope everyone under the weather will be feeling better soon, those on the road and traveling, stay safe. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning gals! Sorry about my ranting yesterday. Kind of had a nervous breakdown with everything going on. Feeling better this morning. Will let my older brother handle my dad's mess for now. I need to concentrate on getting well and starting my new job on Monday.

I made another decision yesterday. Lola has been living under my bed for several weeks terrified of the dog. Shama just wants to play with her, but she doesn't see it that way. Also I have felt I haven't been able to spend enough time with Shama with work, etc. I found out about a nice retired guy who lives here who pet sits for everyone in the building. He has been looking for a dog for himself. Several of my neighbors and the caretakers vouched for him, so I brought Shama down to meet him last night. It was love at first sight for both. He is home all day and lives on the first floor and can take her out often and play with her. He says I can visit her anytime and take her for walks too. I think it is the best situation for all of us. Last night, Lola started to venture out a little, altho still a bit skittish. She even played a little with her toys. I am happy to have my cat back now! I didn't bring her all the way back from California just to end up living under my bed.

Hope you all are feeling good and happy today!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hi everyone, not much going on here. Grey, overcast, raining. Have a nice fire in the fireplace, and the space heater on in the 5er. Making trips out to the rig to try and get ready to leave next weekend. Got a nice surprise. Some friends in Hawaii are moving to Missouri. Their car will arrive in CA in a couple weeks and they will be driving I 10 to Houston to visit family and us. But we'll be somewhere along I10 on our adventure out west. So, we'll get to meet up with them somewhere along the road :P Hope everyone stays warm and safe. Aloha y'all

I am doing Motorhome Maintenance today as I need to grease my steps and bay compartments and check my batteries. Doesn't take long just have to get out and do it. Also need to dump and flush my tanks. It is a cloudy day today after 3 days of great sunshine. Supposed to rain later today but no big storms like the previous 3 weeks. This afternoon will get the laundry done so I can just be a "sloth" tomorrow.

I sure am glad all the Christmas crowds are over....I can finally go to the store and get out in record time. I really hate shopping but have found if I want to eat it is a necessary evil. I don't like to go to the mall either (not that there are any decent stores here anyway) but every once in a while I do need something. I save lots of money here for sure as I need very little (already have it all ha ha).

Hope everyone has a great day. I am off until Monday night and I am patiently waiting for crab season to open here. They keep pushing it back and now it opens on the 15th. I will probably get my fill in a week ha ha

Barbie, I hope that your brother can get the extra checks and stuff away, and take over the day to day financial stuff but a POA will not completely protect your Dad from his bad decisions. He still retains all his own rights. It is a tough job to remain vigilant when you are not right there with eyes everyday. Hopefully he will adjust to a new normal and be willing to keep repeating, "You need to speak with my son about that."

I was lucky with both of my parents. my dad because once he turned everything over to me he didn't want to think about any of it and later my step-mother because she was so tight with any money that ,though I worried some, I never saw any cracks in her tight fist. She also had some realization that her ability to understand math issues and numbers was not her strong talent and trusted me those last two years.

Good Luck.
