Thursday with a Little Rain

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday with a Little Rain

Postby HorizonSeeker » Thu Jan 03, 2013 5:17 am

Why is it you wake up way too early on the morning you're NPO for a blood draw?

Oh well, guess I can put on the coffee for the rest of you. Even putting some rolls in the oven. Just hope there's one left for me after I get back. Will be standing at the door when they open so I can go eat some breakfast. Got 3 hours to kill before my appointment with the doc.

Kind of a rainy, gray day here in St Marys, GA but in the low 60s. Enjoy the day!

Oh Lori, don't say shoulder. My SIL and my BIL have both had falls recently that injured their shoulders. So much PT to recover from that. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's only the finger. Sorry I didn't get down to see you and Ernie before you moved to the post. I thought it best not to be on the road for the New Years traffic if I didn't have to. Maybe we'll meet up again.

Good Morning,

Wow, lots going on in Coffee yesterday. Seems like everybody's getting "back to normal" after the holidays now. If there is such a thing as normal

Ava, congrats on paying down the loans. You've worked hard to do it and now you are finally done. Once the little fees and what not are paid, you are free, free, free. Time for a little celebration. Before we know it, you will be hauling your rig out and getting ready to move back in. Been a long time coming. As to your daughters wedding, well, if she thinks she wants to get married in HI, so be it, but she will have to realize that nobody's going to come. LIke the suggestion was made, maybe a HI themed wedding. Once she starts adding two plus two, she will find out just how much it's all going to cost and...

Barbie, sorry to hear you just can't shake that virus. From what I have heard from others, it's a nasty one. But I am so glad you dumped that place of work. They are more concerned about the bottom line than then they are about their employees, so who needs them. I think the other place that asked you to come work for them will be much better. And as for Bill, you don't need him either. Looks like all he wants is somebody to take to bed at his whim. That's not a caring relationship.

See some people have moved to other destinations or are in the process. Soos is playing with her new fax, scanner, printer, getting some paperwork done. BJ is hoping for a thaw and the end to the snow. I'm waiting for daylight so i can head off to eh laundromat. Doesn't that sound like a fun morning  Last time as I will have my washer and dryer when I get home.

I"ve settled down into life's routine up here and it's going to seem funny going back downstate again. Keep finding more places to explore and things to do up here all the time. Course some of these "explorations" need to wait till no snow on ground. Right now I am reading a book on the history of one ofthe Iron Ore mines near Negaunee and plan to explore that next time I am here and there's no snow. There are many, many old mine sites up here. Not that you can go in them, but just go see where they are and what's around there. It's interesting to learn the history of the area up here. In many cases, there are old relice of the industry still laying around those sites and sometimes old buildings that are boarded up.

Carolb, sorry, but you even beat our temp. Does indeed sound like it's time to head south. It's supposed to be in the low 30's when I go home on Saturday and that will feel like a heat wave after being up here in the colder Canadian air here. Nothing to stop that cold Canadian air coming over Lake Superior, so it settles down nicely here. Colder, sharper air. Got to really layer when going out in it.

So guess it's time to get things moving here. Will be waiting to hear from Lori on the status of her little "pinkie" and hopefully no other issues from the shoulder and arm. Have a great day all.

Good morning HorizonSeeker, Lori, Carolb & everyone!

HorizonSeeker, I hope you get in for your blood work quickly so you can get some breakfast.

Lori, I hope your appointment goes well today and that you haven't injured your arm and shoulder, too.

Carolb, although I'm from the east coast, it's 36 degrees in MD and here in Ocala it's 63 and we're having a light sprinkle. It looks like there is a chance of showers everyday through Sunday. At least the temperatures are mild.

I got a call from the friend that is watching our house and cars, and so far, all is well. The kitchen ceiling is up and almost done, so we're excited about that. I hope all is well with all of you.

Good morning everyone!

Still sitting in the bed here with iPad letting the dogs sleep in. They always sleep later than I do. Checked the Weatherbug this morning and looks like several days with no rain finally. Woohoo! Going to get some rubber boots from Walmart for all the mud.

Lori, hope you don't have shoulder issues from your fall.

Ava, congrats girl. You've done it! So many people never get out of debt. So proud of you.

Carolb, those cold temps tell me it is definitely time to start heading south for you.

Colliemom, stay safe on your trip back downstate.

Irmi, so good to hear repairs are going so well on your house.

Horizonseeker, hope you have already had your blood drawn and are now drinking your coffee. Enjoy that roll if they saved you one.

Going to get the dogs outside here and get another cup of coffee. Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning all...foggy here today...but warm... yesterday I went to home park
for a few hrs in the morning....I had taken a bunch of stuff out to MySweetDream so
I worked on putting all that away....took Maggie for walk...watched some boaters..
nothing to exciting...came back to dads about 1pm...grilled some fish for late lunch
early supper...I find if I eat my larger meal early I do better...I really am going to
try and get back to better eating habits....I start everyday...but most times slip up
but try again next day...I was watching a short program on sugar ...surgar is really
bad for us....I have read about sugar before not being good...anyway this was about
how surgar blocks part of the brain that tells us we are full so that makes us over eat
I believe this because that is what happens to me...I have been trying for years to figure
out why I am always hungry even after I eat a full meal... I think this will help me greatley...I have a big sweet
tooth...so now I am going to get off sugar again...sorry for the ramble...have a great day
and stay safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL FROM ORLANDO!

I see that it got down to 23 below zero last night at my northern home! Thank heavens for this foggy-but-warm southern home! Those below zero temps just don't do anything for me any more. Below freezing with nice snow for skiing is still great, however, and I do miss that.

Irmi, I have been wondering about the condition of your home since that storm devastated it----especially since our great government seems to have still not released any relief monies for all you people yet. Happy to hear the carpenters are moving right along on it and that you have someone to keep an eye on the progress and report in to you. Sure am looking forward to seeing you soon at the GTG!

Here's hoping all of you scheduled for doc appointments today get through it all easily and with all good news! I will be seeing my skin docs now three times a week for 13 appointments as they try to zap those warped cells into oblivion, I hope! It is absolutely painless, and I can still swim and use the hot tub by treating them this way, unlike the surgery which would prohibit that fun and allow for infections to set in.

Hope that all on the roads are careful and have fun exploring places along the way. I am looking forward to getting my home-on-wheels moving once again, too. Happy Thursday to all!

Good Morning everyone... wow I started reading at 7:30 trying to catch up on the news!! everyone is on the move one way or another... Ava sounds like we are all glad for your financial progress over these many months!! Barbie I am shocked that that jerk wanted sex with you and you are so sick... he needed to take a hike! that is what some guys want and they may carry a lot of germs from one to the other... glad you are feeling some better and that you have another job waiting for you... when my daughters worked with hair at a place they kept a file of their clients so if and when they moved they could write to them and let them know where they were at...

I many not mention everyone else but I have read about you and know your goings on...

I was cold until I saw the minus 8 posting now I am warm as toast at 15...

My day will be getting things into my suitcase and making sure I know what I need on my short trip... not used to going without Bright Hope where things are packed! all except cloths and personal items... Shadow knows something is going on... I know he will be lonely as he is so used to me being right here... my neighbor Cindy will let me know tomorrow if she can watch him... if not I will take him to a kennel... he howls when evening comes if I am not around... yikes....

Have a great day everyone...

Update on the little finger.......Dr. says it's in good alinement, but the radiologist found a small issue with a tendon that got pulled pretty far, so got rid of the splint and pink wrap, but now we're taped to the ring finger for the next 2 weeks to give it support, but letting it bend so it doesn't get stiff....Which means The Sultan still has to wash dishes... ;) but I can now take the tape off to shower and wash my hair.... :D Which is good cause The Sultan would never make it as a "hair shampooer" in a salon....  ....his technique sucks....I had him help me wash it in the kitchen sink this morning and had to finish it myself.... ....and yes, the Dr. also said that I did pull muscles in my right chest, across to the underarm and into my shoulder when I fell....so I'll be sore for awhile....but happy to report I will survive and also Spinner's doing better, too...

Okay, that's all for now... ;)

Lori, that's good news. Better to be a little sore than a little broken. :D You and Spinner take it easy. Let the Sultan pamper you. Linda

Oh Lori, I am so sorry about the pulled chest muscles. That has to be painful. But at least you're not dealing with rotator cuff problems. Joint injuries are no fun and may heal but never let you forget. I broke or actually separated my left elbow while I was in the Navy. Had to have it reset surgically. 10 years later it locked up because some calcification built up in the joint so, you guessed it, they had to do more surgery. Those cold northern mornings resound in my elbow all the way down to the tips of my fingers. Hopefully your finger won't give you such problems.

Was at the clinic all morning. I was really supposed to be there last Thursday for the blood draw but couldn't because I was in Winder helping Mike bring Linda home and get her settled. My priority at the time. They had to work me in to their lab schedule then the dr. was upset because he didn't have my lab numbers. Oh well, he'll call me later and tell me all the sad news I'm sure. Now I'm waiting for my appt at the women's clinic for the ultrasound of my breast and then I'm free. Only bad news of the day - I have bronchitis again so I got a new inhaler and some prednisone. Personally I think my campsite at Jonathan Dickinson SP in FL will cure it.

Woke up feeling like crap again today. Just when I think I am starting to get better, then down I go again. I wrote an official resignation letter and brought it to work this afternoon and picked up my stuff. One of the gals there was really worried about me. I told her I was doing OK and had another job lined up, so she was happy to hear that.

I have been having anxiety attacks for a few days about all this stuff so I stopped at a health food store and picked up some natural anti-anxiety stuff and so far I am feeling much calmer now. Also picked up some green tea for my immune system. I think my New Years resolution is going to be to get healthy and stay that way. More exercise, better eating habits, etc.

I am meeting with my new manager tonight to go over what I need to know.

Ava, glad you are finally getting out of debt. That would be a wonderful feeling!

Lori, glad your finger isn't too badly damaged. You'll be plenty sore for awhile tho!

Soos, good to hear your treatments aren't uncomfortable for you.

Hope the rest of you are having a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
