Good morning all! :D

Speaking of "cownt downs," didn't Li hit a big one? Li, aren't yew the one who retired as of 12/31/12!!??? I've been browsing all over the forem to hear of yore celebration, bt didn't see anything. Well, if it IS yew (or whoever it was) CONGRAT-LATIONS! 8-)

Nice to hear of everyone's new year's day, present & past! Kathleen, WOW, celebrating yore giving birth to TWINS on 1/1/58!!!!! & Carolddddd, sownds like yew were the only party animal!!!! Nice new pic, JdyB, & Ava, congrats on the dawghter's engagement! Lot's going on....Yes, now all the talk will be of the FL GTG, some already there, some on their way, & others, like me, cownting the days til we get on the road.

I totally missed the parade! I spent yesterday getting my HarBor packed to the gills! All I need to do is throw in my last min items, food, & dogs--have decided to leave the first good day after my mammo appt on the 15th. More news for me: a "birth-related" sister re-nion when I get to my sis's place in FL! My sis from CA will be flying owt --will be the first time in ages that we three have been together. :P

Barbie & others "feeling it comin' on," hope y'all feel better! & Carolyn, wishing yew continewed recovery from sergery. To all, wishing good health, a happy day, & safe travels wherever :P

Okay, this may take me awhile but....GOOD MORNING!!!!!! :D Carolb, and those who follow...

Spinner was on guard duty, again, this morning  waking me with a bark at whatever was out there in the yard....So I'm up with my coffee.... :) We're on the move today.....but will take our time packing up and getting there as we're going only about 40 miles to FT. Stewart.....I figure I can do the stuff that doesn't require lifting or the use of both hands....but can do the securing of bathroom stuff and small stuff in the kitchen/livingroom area....The Sultan will do the rest with my direction....he has the outside all ready to go.....

The hand is a little stiff this morning, but no pain... :)

Spinner says thank you for the nice compliments on his photos....he does this thing every once in awhile, especially when he's not feeling well, finding a pile of leaves,if available, and makes himself a bed...he'll also do this if there are loud noises....but he looked so comfy and proud of himself yesterday that I had to take those pics of him..

Okay, I seem to be rambling and the right wrist is protesting...so I'll stop for now....

Have a great day, and will be back when we get settled at Ft. Stewart.... ;)

Good Morning Carolb, Lori and all who follow,

Carol, I can just feel the excitement in your getting ready to hit the road to FL. And now you are going to have a GTG with "sisters" too. You are in for a great trip. And I'm sure they are going to want to investigate your rig, maybe ven go for a campout perhaps?

Lori, glad to hear you finger isn't quite so painful this morning. I've never broken a bone in my body either in my 63 years so far, but one never knows. Have had my share of torn ligaments (once) and the usual strains and sprains. Hope it heals up good for you and you will be on the mend and back to doing your routine stuff again.

Ava, congrats on your daughter getting married. Looks like you are adding another "son" to the family.

3 more days to enjoy the U.P. for me and then I will be heading for home on Saturday. Yesteray as by the far the best day weather wise I've had since I've been here. A full day of pure sunshine with not a cloud in the sky. And a fresh blanket of light fluffy snow over all. Was beautiful day and after running to the laundromat to do the dogs bedding and a comforter off my bed, I came back here and picked up the girl and we took a ride northwest of here into the base area of the Keewenaw Peninsula. Did take some pictures along the way. Will post after i get back home. Need to go through the pics and organize it all, the get into Photobucket and eventually on to the forum here. With the sometimes SLOW connection here, it's better to do it at home with my fast service. So hang in there.

Today looks like a really nice day again, so am heading to Marquette and might go down to the lake shore area and see what it looks like along the Lake Superior shoreline there. Maybe I'll even catch a "Laker" as they call the freighters the ply the great lakes, at the ore dock. They are still hauling ore from the big ore dock in Marquette and will be till the locks at Sault Ste. Marie close down the end of this month. There were no vessels expected yesterday, so I am figuring there probably will be today. Also need to run the Flex through the car wash as it's filthy. Full of salt and slush from the roads earlier this week. Last wash before heading for home. Also a stop at Tractor Supply for dog food.

So with that in mind, I am going to wish you all a wonderful day. Those who are under the weather or feeling like it, sending wishes your way that you feel better soon. Those who are traveling today, wishes for a safe journey.

Moving day for me too so not much time for breakfast. Just tea and a roll. Brother has to take his wife to her first of what I am sure are many dr appt at 10 so I will pull out just before them. Got the car hooked up and the rig loaded on Monday as we knew Tuesday would be raining all day. Hate to load in the rain. Will take most of the day as I am going about 300 miles south to St Marys.

Lori, be careful you don't mess up the hand any worse than it is. Let Ernie do all the work as I'm sure he can handle it. To everyone else out on the road today stay safe.

Good morning gals. Was feeling a little better yesterday but not so much this morning. I am supposed to go to work later but am nervous about how I will feel once I get there and if I will be able to make it thru my 8 hour shift. This virus has really taken everything out of me not to mention the emotional toll from my manager.

Lori, sorry to hear about your pinki accident. Hope it heals quickly.

I think I am going to head back to bed for awhile...

Ahhh, now this is my favorite day of the holiday season, it's over!! Whew, do I feel better already. We have a bit of sun to make it look warmer than the 14 degrees we woke up to this morning. The nice weatherman is promising a warm up into the mid-thirties and next week it will be in the forties, maybe this snow will finally melt!
I made navy beans and corn bread yesterday & was told they were very good. I've had stomach issues lately and didn't think beans would be a good idea. A couple of friends came by and joined us for dinner so it was a enjoyable way to end the day.
I don't think my little Toby is a brave hunter, a very large rabbit dashed across the yard yesterday morning just as I let him out the door. He hesitated a moment and then ran after it but when it ran into some bushes he stopped and watched, when it come out on the other side, he gave it a good head start before he chased it. The bunny slipped through the fence and was long gone by the time he got there.
Barbie I hope you feel better once you get to work. Are you going to call about the other job you mentioned?

Good morning ladies
also my favorite time of the holiday season, "Its over day" need I say any more about that?
Talked to daughter yesterday and of course there is no date set yet but she wants a "destination" wedding, and she's thinking Hawaii. :? :o
Thats gonna cut into my budget bigtime. Hope she changes her mind cause there will be many that will not be able to afford the cost and they
won't be there. Gonna have to talk some sense into that girl, think she's thinking with emotions right now.
Tomorrow is payday and I'll get the car payment and the rv payment done and then we'll see what leftover accumulation of little fees are left
on each loan. That's the most important thing on my mind right now. Its been a long time coming and its finally going to be DONE. :D
Not doing much today, have to make one little trip to the store for electricity. If it warms up I'll take the girls out for some sunshine. I think
they really need it, especially Pixie as the sun has healing properties too.
Not much else on my mind right now. Ya'll have a great day and be safe and stay warm.

Good Morning everyone...
Ava congratulations to your daughter... it seems that many are having destination weddings... maybe she could have her wedding where ever and have a reception with cake and dancing at home... that is what my granddaughter did...

It was 3 when I woke up the first time this morning... burrrrr for sure it will maybe be high 20s later... not my idea of fun for sure...

Next week I am going to Warrenton, MO to help out at CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) Headquarters... they need volunteers especially at this time of year to open mail, read letters, grade lessons, input into computer, get things ready for mailing etc... it should be an interesting time there are 7 of us going from the church I go to...

I need to take advantage of the sun and go out and get my hair cut...
Hope everyone has a great day

Perhaps a Hawaiian themed wedding here and a honeymoon to HI?

OK, so I had a set back...took my antibiotic later this morning and ended up in the bathroom for over 3 hours with the runs and nausea. I called in to work to tell them I wouldn't be able to make it in because I was stuck in the bathroom with diarrhea. Got a message back that I either needed another doctors note excusing me from work for today or I had to be in to work at 1pm, or I would be suspended or worse. The other manager left a message wanting to talk to me to "go over their protocal". When I had a chance to get back to my manager, I said I was done with their nonsense and I quit.

Now I am wiped out (in more ways than one!) and just so upset about this whole thing. I just need to get back on my feet again so I can get a fresh start at the new place. (Need to get a different antibiotic too.)

OK, this just gets better and better. Just got a text from Bill saying he can't see me anymore because I told him last night I wasn't ready to sleep with him yet...

Barbie, you DEFINITELY need a new start!

Any employer who does not trust you when you say you are sick and wants you to see a doctor the second time after you already saw one, is not worth it. Did they expect you to recover that quickly?

And the either/or choice your friend gave you is not a good sign of a caring person either.

When you feel better, you can look into potential new jobs.

Barbie, I hope new doors have just opened for you because your work and that guy are the pits!! Glad there is a new job available already.

Kathleen, hope you'll enjoy your week of volunteering!

Ava, exciting news for your daughter! By the time it was said and done, I think I wish my girls had married somewhere else and had a reception when they came home!

We just got back from our shopping day in Phoenix. What I thought would be a quick trip turned into 7 1/2 hours - about 3 of that on the road.

Now it is time for pjs and my little nest up on the bed :)

GOODNIGHT ALL!

Guess I missed morning coffee as I paid bills before I left for my skin zapping at a new location today. This spot is much closer to this house, so I am scheduling most appointments here.

Kath, it sounds like a fun and useful time for you today.....have a good, but, like someone said, don't get all tuckered out!

I also decided on a new company to insure this house today, as the old company is not renewing any policies down here in FL. Will feel good to get all this finnancial stuff done before income tax time settles in. Sigh----I just cannot win. But at least I am not in arrears yet. Hooking up my fax/printer/scanner/copier today was a real treat! But I did get it working all around, and managed to fax a ton of stuff rather than snail mailing it.

Barbie, congratulations for telling those a%^holes to go to the devil and for quitting. I cannot imagine what they are thinking to ask a person with the runs to come into work! And, as for your new guy, if all he wants is sex, he should look elsewhere, too! I am really excited to hear you already have an offer for a new job! I know they will love you, and those other jerks can just try to find someone as good as you have been! Now just rest up and try to get your strength back. Sleep, sleep, sleep. Ginger ale and chicken soup and vitamins.

Ava, my son and daughter-in-law knew that most of their friends and family could never afford to go to a wedding in Costa Rica, so they just went and did it themselves. If we can ever find a time to get together to celebrate it some day, we all will do just that!

Sue enjoy your last days on your vacation----glad you had such a pretty day at least once.

Maybe some rain down here tomorrow, which we can use. I will ride my bike to the club to pay the dues and perhaps sit in the hot tub for a bit, if it's warm enough. Happy January to us all.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
