It's Tuesday and it's 2013!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy New Year! Wishing us all a healthy, happy 2013!

No real celebration here except for younger daughter's traditional phone call at midnight.

I have the Rose Parade on - hard to believe it was only 5 years ago that I was there. I will probably turn the football game on later. Chris, how fortunate you were to have a front row seat!!

Today is a holiday so I can put off things one more day - well actually 2 because tomorrow is shopping day.

Enjoy your day!

Good morning,

Happy New Year!

I have been at my sisters recovering from rotator cuff surgery on Thursday, Dec 27. The doc scraped burstiis and removed bone spur, but did not repair small tear. Since doc did not repair tear, my recovery will be at a much faster rate and less painful. Everyday I have more movement and less pain in my shoulder. :D I am going home this afternoon and return to doc office on Thursday. Hopefully, I will return to work on Monday. Gotta keep my days off for RVing.

Have a great day!

Happy and healthy New Year to all of you!

I really, really slept in today--to 11:30 am! I have been sleeping later and later, so I really need to adjust my schedule so I am getting up by at least 9 am so as not to waste the day. This late sleeping is fairly new, so I think it is adjustable. I had some problems sleeping about a month ago, and I think that kicked it off.

Also, had two sandhill cranes come for a visit this morning right to my campsite. I hate to say it, but I think they were begging for food. I was able to take several photos. They squawked loudly and flew off when a couple came by walking a dog.

Lazy day again today with lots of TV watching and a bit of cleaning. I also need to open the hood of this beast and add some windshield washer fluid! Never done it before.

TIP: If you have poor internet service and own a mobile hotspot, try velcroing it to one of your side windows. It really helps add a bar or two. Not supposed to get cell phone service here, but I am getting weak cell phone and weak internet through my hotspot, so it is working, at least.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

The kids and I went to Sea World via cab there and back to see some neat shows and the lights. Then we watched the ball drop, shouted RABBITS on the stroke of the new day, toasted all of us with champagne, and went to the back yard to see the most extensive and beautiful fireworks display I have ever witnessed. It was absolutely gorgeous----put on by a near-by resort with mega bucks catering to visitors with mega-bucks, sharing their wealth and beauty with all of us here in the development.

May we all have the best year of our lives in 2013, so we can look back next year and gloat!

I hate to take my tree and house lights down, but I suppose it's time. Perhaps I'll leave the tree up for another while, but take off the Christmas ornaments and just keep the pretty lights. I have done that back at my north country home for numerous years now, and I love the atmosphere that tree gives me all year 'round. I feel a nap coming on now that the parade is over!

Just a quick check in to wish each of you a very Happy New Year and say a big Thank You for being here.
Nicky and I spent a quite evening watching much of the world welcome in the new year. The wonders of TV allows us to see how things are done all over the globe.
A very soggy start here as we get another 2 inches of rain around north AL. At least temps are above freezing so no real icy stuff. Weather man has promised some sunshine for tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the big orange ball again.

Soos, your fireworks remind me of New Year's in Hong Kong, where the fireworks were always spectacular. I'm hungry for fireworks, so maybe I'll see the Detroit-Windsor display in July. It's supposed to be one of the best in North America.

Red, I got such a kick out of hearing about your Pasadena years! What fun! I haven't made it to the Rose Parade yet, but I might make it one of these years.

A happy 2013 to all!

I'm a little late but I didn't get up until 10 minutes before the parade started. Since then I have taken Sammie for her walk.

The last time I was at the parade was 55 years ago. I grew up near Pasadena and we used to go every year just after midnight and sit on the curb. I was pregnant the last time we went. That is how I remember it so well.

I did say "rabbits" at 12:04 am. That means it should be a good month for me, right?

A very Happy New Year to all.

Set two alarms and got up early this morning to see the Rose Parade. Couldn't find it on TV and didn't think about the time change until my sister explained that the parade is 8am in California and later here in Florida. Enjoyed a late breakfast while watching the parade. Even saw it a second time during the later re-broadcast. It is the best.

Glad everyone seems to be having a nice day. Best wishes for the new year.

I woke up shortly after midnight and said "rabbits"! Yay! I finally remembered! I need all the luck I can get right now!

Got up early and went to the Minute Clinic. Was first in line. I have a very nasty sinus infection that the nurse gave me an antibiotic for. She also gave me a note for work. I stopped at the store on the way home and got home just in time to watch the parade. I was there in person 2 years ago. I really loved looking at the floats up close after the parade was over. You can really see how much time, effort and detail is put in to each float. I would love to volunteer sometime to work on one.

Took a nap afterward. I still have no energy at all. Get really winded if I do anything. Not sure how I will do tomorrow going back to work. Am nervous about how that is going to go when I get there too. I haven't thought about what my next move is with that...

Hope you all have a great new year!

I thought I posted a Happy New Year post ... guess it counts that I thought about everyone? I also thought I'd have an easy work day today ... but the manager came up saying "I'm so sorry" and I knew something was changing. Turns out that one of the park models we hadn't cleaned for occupancy yet (because the renters were not due in until mid-Jan) needed to be cleaned. The folks called that they'll be here the 3rd instead. So, I hustled over to get that started and will finish it tomorrow. If they were coming tomorrow, I'd have worked more today/tonight ... but don't need to.

I'm seriously thinking Baja for next winter, again ... I mean the temps there are so much better, and I can see myself back on the beaches for the winter. Maybe even get my kayak out again and kayak with the dolphins. We shall see ... but is definitely on my think list.

Here's wishing happiness and good health to all for the new year.

Happy New Year! Doesn't sound like we had any party animals in the crowd last night. We stayed home and I was in bed by 10:00. Had no intentions of watching the ball drop. Today was just a lounge around do nothing day. Back to the "four letter" word tomorrow.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
