The Last Sunday of 2012

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Barbie, I also like Soos' suggestion -- if you can find a driver. I've had bosses like that, and I've never found a way to reason with them. A really vivid demonstration might just do the trick! Her behavior is outrageous.

My son is on the road today. I'm enjoying the quiet this morning; I was ready for some downtime! I wish he was coming right back, though. We didn't have enough time to do anywhere near all the fun stuff we thought about. This reminds me of that late August, back-to-school feeling. Even though it was nice to get back on schedule, summer was never long enough for all the fun!

Good Morning,

Sounds like most of us are a bit chilly!

Barbie, I wish I lived near you - I would come in for a haircut and complain to your boss about your being there sick! 'Course she'd probably take it out on you.

Soos, I was holding my breath about what was scampering around in your trailer!!

Add me to the 'I need to eat healthy again' party - plus need some exercise!

I am enjoying the very slow pace right now! Spent hours Googling cousins on the Internet last night for genealogy. There are many of us spread all over the country and many of us don't even know each other. Found some interesting tidbits. I found a mugshot of one cousin's daughter - nothing to go on but her name, age and location so wasn't sure it was the same person until I saw her picture - it was like looking at her dad with long hair!

Everyone stay warm, get well and safe travels.

Good Morning! Coffee is gone. There is Diet Coke in the refrigerator…help yourself.

Barbie, Wash your face…run a rake through your hair, don’t style it. DO NOT put on any make-up, get someone to drive you to work. Tell every customer that you are sick but the manager insisted that you come in. Don’t get mad…get even. Also remember all the other stylists who refused to fill in for you...don’t fill in for them when they need a hand. I had the Influenza A a couple of years back and I was miserable for a week. After that it was about 3 months until I really had my energy level back to normal.

Quiet day around here. I should take the tree down…not going to happen. The twelve days of Christmas aren’t over until the Feast of the Epiphany. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I might re-pot a couple of house plants.

Have a good day!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

My manager left me a voice message saying I couldn't come back to work without a doctor's note and that she feels disappointed by how I have handled this whole thing. Huh??? I got angry, threw on my boots and my coat over my pj's and headed to CVS to the Minute Clinic. Put my name on the list and sat there for almost an hour before the doctor came out and said it would be about 3 more hours! Yikes! :o I left. Stopped at work and told the manager that she isn't getting a note anytime soon if I have to wait that long, and that I won't be in tomorrow either. So we will see if I still have a job to go to on January 2nd. This is the kind of stupid stuff that Great Clips pulls that I hate.

Now I am totally exhausted and am going to bed...

Oh Barbie I am so sorry... there is no excuse for her behavior... it is so hard when you need to work to live and have someone like that over you... do take care of yourself... rest and get well soon...

Barbie, isn't the owner the one you liked so much? Maybe you should go over the Manager's head & talk to them.

I agree with Vickie....go over the Manager's head to the owner....that's what I'd do....the flu isn't something to mess around with...it can turn into many more serious conditions.....take care of yourself.....please....remember, I'm the worrier of the group..... ;)

Unfortunately, the owner and GM (owner's daughter) are in South Korea for the next several weeks. The manager is supposed to just be following what the owners rules are. They are usually very fair which is why I am so surprised about this whole situation. It doesn't make any sense to insist that someone comes in no matter how sick they are.

I've got two days to get feeling better before returning to work to see what they are going to say to me about this whole thing.

I better say "rabbits" on Tuesday morning!

Barbie, when the owner and GM get back from their trip, you should definitely let them know what happened while they were gone. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Being sick is no fun!

Good morning friends! I will wish you a Happy New Year officially later, meanwhile happy eve! I was so glad to see the sun yesterday I went for about a 3 hour ride, i could have really gone somewhere instead of around in a big circle! I will take my tree down tomorrow, I will sit by it one last time tonight with my glass of wine. I have always written my husband a letter telling him about my last year and plans for the next! Don't know whether to continue this year or not, Ive had a serious case of winter blahs. But don't want to dwell on them! Ya'll have a SAFE and a FUN day!!!!!! Wendy
