Good morning, all.... :)

I'm not quite awake enough to be chatty or witty, but I do have the coffee going and some tasty breakfast items ready for ya'... ;) I had the " scared Spinner " duty during the night as we had high winds again.... So am slow getting the motor going today....but the sun is out and hope the temp gets above 55F today....Enough of this "frost on the pumpkin" stuff...

Okay, got the morning coffee news started....jump in and enjoy the goodies...

Have a great day, all...

Good morning Lori and all to come...A little cool in Melborune this morning...39 when we went out for our walk. I am getting geared up for the GTG..." something like chicken with head cut off" not sure what to get ready , what to take, etc etc.... I was sitting here thinking last night...my sister wants to come visit in Feb. so why not come the end of Jan ...and come with me to the GTG...she never gets to do anything this would be great for her. So I text her and she would like to try and do that...is it ok for her to come along? Guess I will do laundry and maybe some cooking today....I have gained 6lbs and need to get back on my better eating habits...enough of this wild eating anything and everything... and I was doing so good too! Thats my story for today :P

Good Morning ladies,

lori, thanks for starting breakfast this morning. Should have come over to your rig for breakfast, was probably better and less sweet then the iced cinnamom loaf that I am eating. A tad to much icing. Good ole' sweet tooth me spied a nice iced loaf and got that one instead of one with not quite so much icing  Gotta quit that. I'm sure I put on weight this month, time to get back on the diet track. This sweet tooth has a hard time passing up te goodies in teh bakeries in the store up here and especially when you pass the ice cream and Blue Bunny has these little personal sized ice cream cups and, well you know.....

Nothing much new here today. All units are gone except two upstairs and I think either both or one is leaving today. One is a family that has been out snowmobiling all day, every day since they have been here. Looks like they are having a great time. The other family left yesterday.

I will be heading off to church this mornng and saying goodbye to the folks I have met there as next week at this time I will be back home again. Dogs are not going to be happy. No more walks off leash as there's too much snow to walk in the woods down there and also back to thier fenced in yard. They have so enjoyed the freedom to go for walks and snoop around, at least Sassy has and also not having fenced in area out here. They have been good as gold about staying right here when I let them out. They dont run off or wander away. Staying close to the unit here. We've been on some nice long walks this week. Not sure what today is going to bring till I get home from church. There's a recreation area a ways from here that I might go check out for future. Has all kinds of hiking, snowshoeing and cross country ski trails there. Or if it's a nice day which they predict, I may go take a ride and see some of snow country.

Looks like everybody's getting their lives back to some state of normal after the holiday gatherings of families etc. Now the big thing is the FL GTG. I can already feel the excitement building. Looks to be a great time and then before we know it Feb. will be here and the plans for upcoming spring and summer will be the next topic of conversation. Wonder who will get new rigs or even get a rig this next year and look forward to adventuring?

I'm off to get my hair washed here and then start getting dressed to head for church. Need to go get my Sunday paper first, so guess I had better get rolling here. Have a great day all.

Good morning everyone! Yesterday turned out to be a really busy day. I got my little spin dryer delivered yesterday. I spun out what was left of the water in the clothes that had been drying on a rack in my bathroom for 2 days. In just an hour, they were dry and I could fold and put away. Then did another load of laundry. Spun this load just barely damp dry and hung up on tension rod in shower. Checked them this morning and the clothes are dry. Even the jeans I washed to see if it would take a long time for them to dry. Woohoo! Can now do laundry at night and then put up before shower each morning.

It's down in the 20's this morning. Water is frozen in hose so will be waiting for sun to come out and warm hose enough for water. I am so ready to be heading south for FL.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

What to bring to a GTG.....if you haven't figured out some of the basic philosophy around here.... In material things, food, etc., what ever you want! Stuff like more food and chairs and warmer sweat shirts can be borrowed or purchased if needed or forgotten. (I hear there will be a Fit fleet available.) The most important things to bring can't be bought anyway. A curious mind....Interesting stories to share....good listening ears....a sense of humor and laughter....a love of adventure....a openness to discover new surprises (and friends)....and a realization that life is too short to worry about not being perfectly anything....

Good sunny morning... wow so good to see the sun after so many gray days... it is 20 and will be 31 for a high...
Spinner will sleep the day away after the rock and roll wind dies down... my Shadow seems to sleep through everything... storms have never bothered him... Sue the cinnamon rolls in the UP are the best... one place has them home made that are the size of a dinner plate... will last four days or more for one person... but they are so good!
Off to finish the other forum and check games then will be time for church...
Have a good day what ever you do...

Good morning everyone!

Lori, thanks for starting the MC! Sorry it was windy in GA again, but hopefully the weather will calm down soon for you.

Donna, by all means bring your sister! After one GTG, she may want to go to several more!

Sue, it's hard to believe that you'll be home this time next week. The time has gone by so fast.

Dawn, I can't wait to see your spin dryer! What a neat idea!

Carolb, please be careful with all the snow shoveling you're doing. We don't want you hurting your back just before you leave for FL.

It's cold in Ocala this morning. We woke up to temperatures in the 30's and by the time we got back from the grocery store, the temperatures were at least ten degrees warmer. It probably won't get much warmer than the upper 50's today but in a couple days, we'll be back in the 70's. I'm getting excited thinking about the FL GTG, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Enjoy your day!

Good morning...my boss is giving me problems. I am still too sick to go in, can barely stand up without feeling like passing out and she says I have no choice but to come in, period. She tried to say I didn't give enough notice, but I called her yesterday afternoon about it. Then she says because I didn't find a replacement, I have to come in. I don't think I could even make it out to my car right now let alone drive anywhere. I don't know what else I can do. I have been there 5 months and have never called in sick or been late. I have happily covered other shifts when asked. (Would you really want me to cut your hair in this condition???) Any advice?

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Sure did get cold last night, but I was nice and toasty in here with my electric heater purring away. Had some excitement in the night when Molly poounced on something between my mattress and the wall. She was digging around, pouncing, etc. and by the time I turned on the light, she had whatever it was clamped in her mouth. It jumped out and onto the floor. Fearing it might be a poisonous gigundous spider of some sorts, I tracked it down as it scurried along the floor, under the bathroom door and hid itself behind my carpet sweeper in there. It was a poor little tree frog! I can't believe her jaws did not kill or maim it, but it seemed fine. So I caught it in a washcloth and let it go outside in the cold----I hope it found refuge somewhere and is alive today to catch more insects around here.

The kids and I played cribbage last night on their porch while listening to my long-lost/newly found MP3 player with tons and tons of my most favorite albums and songs on it. Weldon won, but we all three had a good run of it!

Now warmed up to 60 in the sun outside again. Time to get dressed and play with the dogs for a while. Have a very happy last Sunday of 2012!

Barbie there is no excuse for your boss's behavior.

If possible, I would have someone drive me in (don't dare do it yourself feeling as you do) and then make sure I puked all over the studio and perhaps even on a customer. Or, if you don't REALLY pass out, you could feign a pass-out, "hurt" yourself on the way to the floor, then sue her ass off. When you're really sick, you're really sick, and no boss would want that kind of worker to show up. I believe you have the flu, and passing that on would be so unfair.

Barbie, I agree with Soos. Ask the hunk next door to drive you and literally help you into the shop. I wouldnt do much for my appearance either !!!! Passing the flu, (which sounds you have ) is not good. Sneeze or cough on her if possible. Oh my goodness and this is Sunday. I'm sick myself, that's why the meanness is coming out, no way could I go and deal with people today.

If this is your first time calling in sick, it's so unfair !!!

Hope all goes well for you today and that you are well really soon,

CArol :)

Good morning all! It is about 29 outside, but there is a strange orange ball in the sky! Kids just came and picked up gdtr who spent the night, they went to a concert (Jason Aldeen, country singer) I think and spent the night downtown. Yhey came earlier than I thought, we were about to plan our day. yesterday we got cupcakes, ate at Applebees and went to a movie. her pick, Twilight. But it was actually bettter than I thought it would be. Barbie, I don't know what to tell you about your boss. If you havent made a habit of not showing for work, it shoudnt be a problem. Wmart finallly went on a point system for absences and tardies, this was brought on by so many people abusing the old ways. But when i was in a position to log the call=ins, we were always told we could not insist they come in! Legally. Not to mention spreding germs to the customers. If they called and comlained to the main office or something she would be in trouble probably. Well. you all have a great day and Donna( I think it was) by all means bting your sister! Stay SAFE and have FUN! Wendy

Forgot or didn't think when responding to Barbie that this is the morning thread, sorry ladies, brains not working :o

I do hope you all are having a great day. Sun is out here, not sure of temp. I still have my heavy robe on and small heater going. I'm still at my DDs ,she is sick too. Kids passed it on, and they are feeling super  just a cold I think and hope.

Nothing planned here today, Maggie is missing her nice daily walk around Lake Wales. She seems to know I don't fell well.
You couldn't ask for a better little buddy !!!

Have a great day all, looks like a beautiful traveling day, if you are on the roads, be safe,

Good morning all,
Sun is shining - about 30 outside - possible snow tomorrow into new year's day.
Had a nice day yesterday... Didn't do any 'work' work, just straightened up around the house as I felt like it, did some running around - love the freedom! :D
Gosh Barbie, I dont' know the answer for you - Soos idea is ok, but I worry about you going out at all. So sorry you're having to deal with this while you are so sick... :x
Soos, sound like you had an interesting night - not sure I would have been brave enough to pick it up but guess we do amazing things when the situation calls for it.
Carolb, I'm not the only one who enjoys ew in the morning... And while I would love to come to the FL GTG, I just checked the route & traveling thru the midwest in late Jan just isn't too promising. Plus I think I'll be involved with replacing our phone system down at the office right about then & since I'm the one signing off on it I need to be there to make sure it goes smoothly. Trying to hand some of this stuff off to the younger ones, but that takes time... ;)
Tina, i love your list for the GTG - right on! :D
Dawn, I waa so intrigued by your spin dryer, i had to research them a little... What a fantastic little machine. I liked the little 'wonder washer' too. Might be perfect for my daughter when she's off on her own next year - her clothes are pretty delicate so these would fit the bill. Plus, I can inherit them when she's done with them right about the time I'm ready to hit the road more.
Well.. I'd better be movin' along...
Stay safe everyone...
