Good morning & Happy Boxing Day :D I'm not "boxing," bt was happy to tern on my radio & find they're still playing Cmas mewsic! I always was so sad when it all stopped too abr-ptly. Soooo many of yew posting yesterday, with wishes for all yore RV sisters! THANKS for taking the time...Mitch, yore bis-kits looked like the Pilsbery "Grands"! & who cares what they look like if they taste good! Next year, y'll be making them for some of the sisters, eh??? Dawn, I think yew & yore mom will both be sleeping better with the decision to find her a permanent home...

Did yew so'therners weather the storm? Red left off with "tornado warnings"--hope all are safe... I think some are traveling today, & the weather looks to be pretty nasty in a good part of the contry. JdyB, a flight to Ohio; Irmi, on the road soth; I think others on the road too...Y'all be carefol! Only 5 (yes FIVE) degrees here this morning & major snow on the way.

Y'all have a great day & bask in the memories that were made yesterday. Whether they were happy or tearfol, we move on to make more & let's make them good ones! ONE MONTH from today, I'm off to meet many of yew in FL! 8-) Y'all be safe wherever yew are!

Good morning all!

You are right Carolb. I think this is best thing for both Mom and me. If she has a medical emergency, she will be where she can get help quickly. This has been a real concern to me. For her, medical emergencies are not unheard of.

It is cold to me here. Temp is in the mid 30's right now. Better than the mid 20's that were predicted yesterday. The wind sure has been blowing hard this morning. I checked the weather and the winds made the feels like temp around 22 degrees. The dogs and I about froze when I took them out earlier. I am so ready for Spring already. I am so glad I am not where you are this morning. Brrrr, 5 degrees. The older I get, the less I like cold weather. Will be heading south from here on the 10th, if the weather is OK.

I ordered a hand operated washing machine and a little spin dryer yesterday. Paul had already ordered and used the little portable washing machine and he said it did a good job. Since Mom is moving out, I will be able to store these in the closet she has been using. If she does not move out, will find places in the storage bins to store. Paul has been using my portable satellite dome so I have that space if I need it. After he saw how easy it was to hook up and get satellite TV with Red and DH, he asked if he could use it. I am not thrilled with laundromats. LOL. Better to do a little load everyday. I figure these will pay for themselves over time.

Not sure what today will bring. Will get with youngest brother later to see what he has planned. I know Paul and I need to get more propane. Have been really conserving my propane but I need to get another bottle so I can just switch them out if I need to. Got the extend a stay kit installed when we were in Fort Worth and it has been a life saver. No way a propane truck can get to me where I am and I do not want to have to disconnect and stow everything to go get propane. Going to take advantage of having Mom's Jeep for a little while longer. Also need to go get some staples I need to stock up on since we won't have a tow vehicle for a little while.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe. The weather is not looking good for a great deal of the country again today.

Good Morning Carolb, Dawn and all who follow,

Oh yes, boxing day. i had forgotten all about it. Carolb, carols should be around for awhile yet as we are still in the 12 days of Christmas and if we don't hear them anyplace else, we can always throw in a CD or something at home. I didn't listen to any for some reason yesterday. Guess I was busy doing other stuff, like get my pork loin cooking in the slow cooker, was delicious by the way :) , took the dogs out for walks at least three times enjoying the softly falling snow, doing a batch of emails to send out this morning when I go to Ishpeming where my cable company has service and zip them off, etc. So yesterday was a nice peaceful, restful day. Today I need to run to Tractor Supply for more canned dog food. My girls are not eating that special prescription food, so am going over to 4Health for awhile as they seem to like that. Then will stop by vet office up here where I got some more of the canned prescription stuff and see if I can return the unopened cases. Need to make a run by a store and if the sun comes out at all, might go do some picture taking.

Dawn, I hope you mom does get settled in where she wants to be. It would be good all the way around. I know you will miss not seeing her on your travels, but I think it will be so much easier and more relaxing on you, not having to worry about her. I like the idea of the hand washer and dryer. Didn't know there was such a thing.

So, now we wait to hear what Santa brought everybody. Maybe some more new sewer hoses  I mean, who else but Women Rver's can get excited over a sewer hose  Hope you all got what you were hoping for.

Yep, those who are supposed to be traveling today, be careful out there. Judy is supposed to fly to OH today, but I have a feeling that might be postponed with blizzard warnings in effect for up that way. And I think BJ and Kathleen are going to be dumped with some white stuff as well. Hope nobody's getting any damage from the storms down south. Hopefully Irmi and Steve will be a ways down the road from home before the storm hits that way. Waiting out a rainstorm is better than a snowstorm. Keep safe everyone.

I can already feel the excitment starting to build for the FL GTG. Wish I were coming too, but it's not in the cards this year with no rig, a sick dog and snowstorm damage trees to contiend with when I get home. But I will get there eventually. By then hopefully theere will still be a FL GTG. Maybe there will be some mini GTG's this summer with those of you making plans to come to MI.

Okay, time to move along here. Looking forward to reading the posts from today and hearing all about everybody's Christmas Day. In the meantime, have a great day today too, relax, enjoy and rest up for the New Year :)

Good morning Dawn & Carolb, Sue and all the follow. Boy the weather is such a roller coaster. Wearing shorts one day and 5 layers the next :P Yesterday I walked to the big window and look south. It looked just like those pictures of the the sky just before a tornado forms. Then the wind picked up to 50-60 mph and the TV started beeping and yup, a tornado warning. So, I cleared the few things out of the closet under the stairs and put my computer back up drive and photo archive DVDs in the safe and prayed nothing would happen, but if it did, I was gonna take cover :P DH just laughed at me :x Thank God, just really bad wind and pelting rain. The kind of wind and rain where it is raining sideways.

Not much on the schedule for the day. Still windy and cold, so probably just maybe start a boxing stuff and cleaning up after Christmas. Usually wait until the 31st to take down the tree, but if we are gonna leave around the 12th, I'd better get a head start on getting ready :P

Everyone have a fun and safe day and stay safe and warm.

Good morning, all....

Boy, this Nook I got is going to get me into so much trouble... :o  I downloaded 3 free books the other day and stayed up until Mid-night reading..finishing book 2.....so didn't crawl out of the bed until 8:30am.... ;) So am going to rest my eyes today, do a little picking up around here and catch up online....

It's raining here in eastern GA this morning with a little wind....so it's an "indoors" kinda' day....

Well, the mind is slow this morning, so need to get more coffee in me and then get the butt going....

Have a great day, all...

I am sitting in economy lot at TAmpa Irport with shades drawn. All packed and a bit early for my 1pm flight. They keep saying it is still on schedule but I think they are delaying delaying. Will sit here eating breakfast for another hour.

Son has four wheel drive so he says he can pick me up in blizzard. Put nightgown and change of clothes in carry on in case I end up in some place like Newark!!!! Wish me luck.

I guess everyone in this area got new computers or Internet access as yesterday there was no way to get on line. But I got two great gifts - the weather has cooled down and Bill is feeling so much better. Even up and about some yesterday.
Today is much cooler than any morning so far.
Lots of people on the beach here yesterday - mostly families.
I guess our home is getting that blizzard - Hope it is not affecting any of you too bad.
A late Merry Christmas and an early Happy New Year to all. Safe travel and good health.

I've been waiting to see if I could get a picture of the snow but doesn't seem to want to be mailed from my iphone think I sent too many at once and they are just stuck. We had about 12" last night with strong winds up to 33mph! Luckily no power outages in this area so far (thank goodness we do have the generator) but hearing reports of trees down. Sue, how do you get the snow off of your dogs with their heavy coats!! Toby was afraid of the snow at first but then decided to go leaping through it, what a mess, he looked like a snowman when I got him in the house. I used my hair dryer but it took a long time, must be an easier way.

I looked out once during the night and saw the fresh air pipe to our furnace was covered in snow so I put on my heavy coat and trudged out to knock off the snow. It was so bright outside it looked like daylight. I hope I can get a picture it is rather pretty out. And I hope someone comes by wanting to shovel snow before DH decides he is going to do it.
Stay safe if your in the way of this storm or any of the other bad weather sweeping across.

Finally got a picture.

Red, I got such a kick out of your tornado story! I can remember being dragged into the storm cellar while screaming "I want to see the sky!" when I was a kid. If my father could stay up and watch "for developments," why couldn't I? Grown-ups get to do all the good stuff! I must have been all of five years old. :D

Tornado skies are impressive -- and yes, it's always good to have a safe spot ready!

Sharon, The William would love to meet you! If probate ever gets settled and I get my rig, it might even happen. I have to warn you, though, that his regal look is a photographic illusion. In real life, he has so much enthusiasm that he can't maintain any dignity, let alone a regal stance. He really enjoys life.
