MERRY CHRISTMAS

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Postby carolb » Tue Dec 25, 2012 5:22 am

A simple greeting, bt sincere! :D Hope everyone had a wonderfol eve, leading to this special morning! So many sisters dropping in for MC yesterday to send their wishes! How special is it that those of yew who have so many others things going on, yew took the time to still share with yore RV family! :P Woold take me all day to "recap," so y'all are on yore own this morning ;) I imagine everyone enjoyed hearing from each of yew--I did!, as we have been few here the past several mornings..bt then that's been special too ;) .

So whether it be joyfol celebration, tearfol reminiscing of Cmas's past, or "let's get this year behind -s" (I'm leaning toward that one), we remember the "Christ" part of Christmas. For those who are not Christians, at least allow that he is a symbol of love, peace, hope & KINDNESS! ....Love to all my RV sisses! :P

Merry Christmas !!!! Little ones will be up for the tree in a few minutes. We all attended a party last night so they are tired and I'm only on my first cup of coffee, so hoping I can finish it :D Big dinner today with other grandparents, my solitary lifestyle has not prepared me to keep up with all this party stuff. Think tomorrow must be total rest day

Hoping you all will have a good day in spite of ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Merry Christmas blessings to each of you, my beautiful RV sisters! :D

I've been able to keep up a bit with all the happenings & agree with Carolb - I loved reading all the Christmas eve greetings last night! So beautiful hearing about what each of you are up to, alone, with others, relaxing or exhausted, we are so blessed to have each other today & every other day of the year. :)

I'm wrapping the final items then will put out the candies, nuts & fruits, clean the kitchen a bit & try to relish the quiet of this morning. Went to Christmas Eve mass with son & DIL at the Cathedral - probably the most beautiful Christmas concert in the city, a priest who spoke from the heart with love & humor, incense perfumed the air signifying the reverence & blessedness of the service... the entire experience was wonderful.

Older son fixed prime rib dinner last night- delicious! Today's celebration will be here. The kids don't get up until around 11 - that's the only reason I have time to visit here   Older son will bring family over around noon. Hope we have time to fit in all the traditional breakfast foods before it's time for our main meal. :D

Well, I'd better get busy.
Wishing each one of you the peace that transcends all understanding...

Merry Christmas everyone! Actually woke up feeling really peaceful this morning. I really felt Chuck's presence with me strongly yesterday. Christmas Eve Day and Night were always our special time for Christmas. We did all our celebrating with our kids and grandkids along with my family on Christmas Eve. Since Chuck's Dad passed, many years ago, Christmas Day had become our day to just rest up from the day before, so am used to having a very quiet Christmas Day.

I got some things I really wanted for Christmas. Zeee sent me one of those little smokers that Mitch introduced us to. I cannot wait to use it. Also got the little Weber BBQ grill I wanted along with Rooster things for my kitchen and dining area that I had wanted. Talked to DD yesterday and that was really nice.

Mom is staying here in MS. Younger DB and SIL are going to help her get into assisted living or if she ends up in apartment, they will work with doctor to get her set up on home health. This is the best thing for Mom. Life on the road has been really hard on her and she has not been very happy with this life. I have been scared that if something happened to her, how to get her to medical help quickly. When we get to FL, will start looking for a new tow vehicle. Will be looking for something I can afford that can be towed 4 down and is light weight. I can only tow 4,000 pounds. More changes in this year. I am sure hoping for a much better year in 2013.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and will check in again tomorrow. If you are traveling, stay safe.

Merry Christmas everyone! I'm up, have had my cuppa tea, taken my shower, have cinnamon and orange rolls ready to go in the oven. Gd is still sleeping. Gotta love teens! I hope that all of you feel the love that surrounds you this merry Christmas morning! May your blessings be many and your sorrows be few!

Had a nice Christmas Eve with my daughter. We had steamed shrimp and slaw for dinner and visited for a while. She and her father should be coming over soon. Maybe that will wake the gd?

God bless us everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone. We had a fun, short, casual evening ay DHs son, DIL & gs house. They bought a complete meatloaf dinner from Boston market :P I made a pecan pie! Back home and watched A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott. Kept seeing him as Patton, not Scrooge  Actually, my DH has many similar characteristics as Scrooge

This morning I'm up early, as usual. DH sleeps till 10, so no opening gifts till then. But I kept my family tradition for myself. Made myself eggs Benedict with fresh squeezed OJ. This tradition started back in the day when x DH and I were struggling. Had 5 kids (5-15) and his mom living in the house. DH lost job. Things were tough. We had always gone to a special place for eggs Benedict, but that year we could not afford it. I told the kids what I would like for Christmas is for all of them to make me a breakfast and let me sleep in. That first year they made all the fixings for a grand brunch with eggs Benedict. The kitchen was covered from floor to ceiling with a botched batch of blender hollandaise sauce  But, it was so good. That started a tradition of the kids fixing me a huge spread including eggs Benedict very year there after. Kids are now spread all over the country. But I made the eggs Benedict this AM and had such wonderful memories warm the Day.

I'm sending everyone love, joy and happiness this Christmas. Enjoy making new memories, treasuring memories past, and planning ones for the future. Aloha y'all

P.S. a tornado warning was just issued for my area

Merry Christmas to all my forum family.

Santa brought me what all women RVers needs, a wrench set :D :D Even if he doesn't want to RV I'm blessed that he supports my adventure.

My little Andy was so sure he was getting a present this morning, I felt really bad. We have wrapped presents for them in the past and I think he remembered, we were sure getting the LOOK  :(

I'm making deviled eggs so need to get them together. My friend makes the best ones I've had and she gave me her recipe, of course mine taste nothing like hers. Same with her green beans I think she just has some sort of magic touch.

Beautiful picture Sue, thank you. We are supposed to get a heavy snow tonight with very strong winds. Last night the news said we were in the area to get 8-12 inches! ACK

I hope everyone enjoys their day.
