I don't know how to play that Hand and Foot game, it sounds like a disease! I will bring Phase 10 cards!

We'll teach you, Nancy, and play Phase 10 too. Nan, glad to hear you got something from the warranty anyway. Better than nothing.

Tina - We won't be able to make this GTG. We are in the Keys now at Sunshine Keys RV Resort (gravel parking, ha ha). We will be going up to Marathon for a drive so I'll check out Jolly Roger's. Been here two days. Windy, windy, windy.

Get that wind and chilly stuff gone from the Keys before we get there, please, please. I have only been there once before, for one night, driving around after the first FL gtg I attended...the one where was all froze..... My strongest memory after the color of the beautiful water was the smell of all the dead fish that had washed up everywhere because of the extreme water temperatures.... :? It was another reason I didn't even try to stay longer that year.

FYI, a couple of us are heading down to the Fort Myer area to explore for a few days between the FL gtg state park gig and our reservations at Jolly Roger starting on the 6th...... PM if you are at loose ends those days and still have money in your account for camping... :)

I might be interested in the Ft Myer exploration, I have a friend there who would know some fun places to go. I liked Captiva but it has been several years ago when I was there. You have to cross the bridge to Sanibel and that is a consideration as it is really congested. This is of course is depending on whether Toby's initiation to RVing is successful

We will be at Woodsmoke Camping Resort arriving Feb 2 and leaving to travel towards the Keys Feb 5.......I will have a car with me to make the drive arounds more possible..... Sarah and I were thinking of exploring around Sanibel Island and checking out a couple of museums in Fort Myer....including the RIngling Brother's...... :D If Tobey can make it week at the first GTG, what are a few more days. I am guessing that he will enjoy that you will have to take him out hiking everyday...... :)

Hope you can join us BJ. I haven't been in that area since early to mid 1980s so not sure what to expect.
BTW: Ringling is up near Sarasoda. The Edison/Ford Estates are in Ft. Myers.

I went to Ringling Museum years ago, but never went to Edison/Ford Estates. That sounds interesting.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Ford and Edison Estates. They were very good friends and Ford in particular collected plants.

Also, a little farther away is the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary if you really like birds. It is part of the Audabon Society nature reserves.

I have an uncle that lives in Ft. Myers and used to live on Sanibel - one of the best Christmases ever was when we all descended. He lived close to the wildlife sanctuary. And yes, Edison's home was great to visit.
