Friday--the shortest

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Kathleen, me, the animal lover will say that lady is a hoarder and needs help. And she's taking advantage of you if that's all she cleaned in that amount of time. You're making the right decision.

Sunny and warmer here today, but I'm just lazy today. Going to try to get some energy and get a hike in later.

It was very windy all day yesterday but it moved on last night. I never did see how cold it got last night but it's still pretty cool today. Sue, it's a good thing that there are people like you that like the snow or everyone would be down here. I would not be happy if I looked out and there was any snow much less a foot or more. My brother that lives in Thunder Bay likes cold weather. He will be in short sleeves in the winter. They don't keep their house as warm as we do and I had to wear a jacket in the house.

I'm so glad that the days will start getting longer. I hate having to feed so early or do it in the dark. Have to hurry up when I go anywhere or it will be dark before I get home.

I finally got in the mood to finish my Christmas cooking. I made banana bread last night and candy this morning. Need to go bring some to my friend because my son and I are leaving for Florida in the morning. Hope I can get every thing loaded today so I don't have 50 trips in the morning. I am so not looking forward to this trip. I'm afraid the traffic will be bad. I think the weather will be good. I noticed that gas has jumped back up 10 cents. You know they will be trying to make more money off the Christmas travelers.

Kathleen, I have tried many times over the years to find someone to clean house. It always starts out good but goes down hill fast. When I was working I didn't feel like I should be paying some one twice what I was making an hour. If they thought no one was watching they would be in and out in no time.

Judy, it doesn't take long to learn to pay attention to the weather. It's no fun to be dumping tanks and unhooking in the rain.

Our insurance agent came by this morning with a Honey Ham. My DH will have something to eat while I'm gone. I told him to put the bone in the freezer so I could cook it with black eyed peas for New Years.

2nd sunshiny day in a row but still chilly. I'll take what I can get! I've had one of the grands for 2 days, she's out of school a week before her teachers aide mom. We've had a great time just hanging, making pancakes and running errands. Daughter decided to have the big dinner Christmas Eve instead of the day for some reason. Fine by me, I spend the night over there anyway so I can watch the GD open gifts. I get to make the stuffing, pie and bread. Also fine by me.

So it's off to the grocery to get ingredients for my share of the feast. I guess she had ham at Thanksgiving so it's Turkey for Christmas. That also works for me. I just go with the flow.

Hope everyone has a blessed Christmas and travel safe!

carolb, I'm sure Judy meant carold, she's in Florida for the winter. Don't panic, no one hijacked anything.
