Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday, blessed bt eating crow

Postby carolb » Wed Dec 19, 2012 5:46 am

Good morning all :( Yes, I'm so blessed to have yew as my forem family, bt I'm eating crow for breakfast & DO NOT expect anyone to join me. Thank yew, Soos, for yore post/reply to my confession, & for the additional PMs we have shared. :) To all the other sisters, yes, we ARE family & I DID need to admit that I was the elephant in the room that had cawsed sch grief for owr sister Soos by my over-reaction to an innocent expression of ahnderstanding & relating. Arrrgh....will beat myself jst a bit more & then learn from this. Yes, written commewnication is often so misinterpreted as it stares one in the face & allows for too mch contemplation. I'm glad that we can over-come this & thank yew all for yore sahpport--which is the greatest gift I get from this forem...Carry on :) Less than a week til the big holiday with all the "last second" things to do. Y'all have a great day, be safe wherever yew are, & again thank yew for keeping me in the fold. :P

We can't control the wind...

But we can adjust our sails!

Good morning all! It's supposed to be another beautiful cloudless day here. Not sure what we shall do, but we'll make the most of it, because tomorrow it is forecast to rain and then turn cold. Frost possible this weekend.

Thistle and I will start off with a nice walk in a few minutes, then we'll see what Nan and her dd have planned for the day.

Hope all of you have a relaxing day today.

Good morning, Carol, Liz and all those who follow....Have been up for an hour just reading and having my coffee....Seeing if my shoulder will let me have a pain free day today..... :? Now, I'm fine, it's just too much time on the computer & knitting aggravating an "old injury of my youth".....feels alot better this morning.... took a tumble when I was 20 that tore & pulled stuff....in other words, am just feeling my age... :)

Like, Liz, we are having a beautiful morning here on the salt marshes of GA, but also know that the rain and chilly temps are on the way for tomorrow....so will try to get the cleaning and the tree up today.....Maybe getting that done will get us both out of the "funk" we've been in the last couple of days...

All righty, then.....going to finish up here and get the day started....Will check back later...in the mean time, have a great day, all... :D

GOOD MORNING TO US ALL.

Like I have said to Carol, the happenings in Newtown have made us all more than hypersensitive these past few days, and nobody should be feeling bad about trying to find words to deal with our emotions. I am happy that the wind has changed in the forum now, and, as Liz says, we can all trim our sails a bit! Sisters will prevail!

I can't wait to meet Thistle (LOVE that name) and go for a walk with him and Liz! Not having a reason to get out and hike could allow a person to become lazy and a bit too laid back, and I think Thistle will be just the stimulus for those morning walks, even in inclement weather!

Today I will head back to St. Cloud for an overnight in the trailer so I can make my early morning doc appointment there tomorrow. I told the kids I would bring supper, so now have to decide what to concoct. The dogs will have a fun time going free and running around. This morning will be hot, soaking bath time, packing up some stuff, and then off we will go.

May we all have a decent day doing something that will make us feel good.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning everyone. I had such plans today. A Dr. appt, then off to see Birdie and Sprinter. However, our septic system backed up and I'm waiting for the plumber. Why does it always happen around the holidays? Barbz, did you send Mr. Murphy my way?? Anyway, I cleaning up the mess I made putting up the rest of Christmas decorations and waiting. DH will wait while I go to my doc, then I''m on shift while he goes for his long scheduled annual physical. So unless the plumber comes early, I think the handwriting is on the wall

Everybody have a wonderful day while the weather is still nice. Stay safe. Aloha, y'all

Good morning Carolb, Liz, Soos, Lori, Red and all that follow. It's going to be a busy day here today. We are all settled in safe and sound in MS to spend the month with youngest DB and SIL. DB told me last night when he brought KFC for dinner that he is taking next week off and they have a lot planned to take us to in the area. They want to take us to Natchez, of course Jackson so we can meet his co-workers and see where he works, a casino not too far from here and a bunch of other places I cannot remember. Seems like they have a whole list of "expeditions" planned for us all next week. Sounds like we are going to have so much fun.

Red, fortunately, we only had problems with our septic one time over the years we lived in the house. Not something I ever want to deal with again, for sure.

Liz, enjoy those walks with Thistle. He is just adorable. I cannot wait to meet him in person. You too, of course.

Soos and Carolb, we are all strong, opinionated women here. We would not be women RV'ers if we weren't. There will always be differences of opinion and misunderstandings because of it. We have all become friends, whether we have met in person or not, and friends are able to say "I am sorry" and move on. Glad this is the case here.

I have a very busy day planned. Got to go to Walmart and then drive to Brandon, the closest town with a PetsMart. Don't want to have to drive back to Jackson if can avoid it. Got to get dog food. The kind that Luke can have now I can only get at PetsMart or Petco. While there, going to get a friend or two for Betty Bird. She is doing her morning chirping. Sure enjoy the sound of it.

Everyone have a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning friends! Beautiful here in Ala today, but all that supposed to change tomorrow. Then sunny again Friday (I hope that is right) So glad everything's fine in forum-land this morning. Starting to think about what all needs to be done before heading to Fla. Couple more things for son to do to the camper. Get Peppers food (can only get it a a vet's) haircut, mail. I don't remember doing all this before. I guess husband did all the preps! My good friend Sherry mentioned shes beeen kind of down, so I asked her if she wanted to go see Guilt Trip today. Its about the mother and son who take a cross country trip together. On the other hand, that might be a scary movie! About ready for the big day, only need to get a couple gift cards! Ya'll have a SAFE, FUN, and BLESSED day. Wendy

Morning all, just a quick note to say I'm glad all are content again here on our forum. I also made my comment (on the other thread) on emotion without thinking or even reading other posts; so sorry if I stepped on any toes. A friend is working on a new project and sent out emails asking for a piece of advice. My response was.....family and friends always come first; they are all that really matter. Y'all are counted among my friends/family now and I truly appreciate everyone of you!

Slept in today. Bill came over last night around 8:30 and didn't leave until 2am! We had a lot to talk about! We have a lot in common. Shama spent the whole time in his lap. I am going to take this slow since I haven't been in a relationship for a long, long time and am a little nervous. He is already talking about things we can do together next summer and beyond!

Gotta go to work later on. Am still tired tho. No more days off until Christmas Day. Then back to work the next day! No rest for the weary!

Cold but sunny here. Typical for this time of year. The lake just finally froze over and there are already idiots putting ice houses out there! There are signs all over by the Sheriffs Dept saying the ice is unsafe and to stay off. They have already been practicing doing ice rescues with there "ice"boat (is like the ones that go over the Everglades with the big loud fan on the back).

Am shocked to see gas prices around here fell below $3 per gallon this week! One read $2 .95! Wish I could stock up on it for the winter!

Have a great day!

Welcome to a late start on Wednesday... coffee is warm need a refill... Wendy do not leave without me please.... lol... well maybe next year...

The play and lunch yesterday were great! there were 12 of us ladies... I did more listening than talking... when a group of ladies get together there is always a gab fest... you all know what I mean...

Things have changed here after many many years of tradition... with the death of my son in law's mother the family is not getting together... this will start new traditions... my daughter Margie's family is growing so things will go on... I will miss the gatherings...

I guess the one thing that is constant in this world is change... so glad you are all here during the storms and calm... thank you...

Barbie you were posting at the same time I was... yes slow is better... keep us posted... we are all rooting for a wonderful relationship and pictures...

Now where are the muffins??
Have a great day everyone come over and join me watching the fire and keeping warm...

Good Morning all

I'm woefully behind on welcoming new members so please accept this as a big blanket welcome to all. And don't forget to check out the member map and consider being added. You have to request that.

I'm having hard time getting my year end "to do list" under control - mostly medical and financial stuff. Seems for each item I mark off, two more jump on. I've been staring at a growing mountain of paper work and doing just about anything else rather than tackle it.

Did see the oncologist last week for test results. The multiple myeloma markers they are monitoring are still relatively stable and she does not recommend any treatment yet. Both my blood pressure and blood sugar were up and she suggested having my doctor check them in near future - neither were dangerously high, but not good that they were on the rise. Could it be that I've had a little too much 3,2,1 cake lately?

Lost two more trees in the back from storm about 10 days ago. They have been cleaned up and hauled off. At least I was able to give them to someone who needed fire wood. I also had all the leaves in back yard mulched and some straw spread. The straw sticks to Nicky's hair as bad as the leaves but has the advantage of being near the color of carpet so I don't see it so much when he brings it in. There is very little top soil left (erosion) but I'm going to toss out some winter rye and hope for a few green patches when I return from FL.

My BIL (late husband's brother) in south GA has been back in hospital for about a week. He is not doing well; heart functioning at about 35% yesterday.

Had my hearing checked yesterday and hearing aids cleaned and adjusted. Think I'm going to have to go back for another adjustment but the good news is they did not recommend I replace them yet, just need more tweaking.

A word of caution for those with on/off type account with Verizon. Late last month I was trying to stop the data charge on Verizon for iPad since didn't need it this month. Hit wrong something and ended up closing the account. Had to get sim card replaced and open new account plus lost the remaining minutes I had for the month. My fault but still very annoying.

A beautiful day here but more storms forecast for tonight/tomorrow. Got to go get a few more errands/shopping done while the sun is shining. Might try to get a pix of the Christmas trees in the park to share.

Hope every one is having a great day and I'll try to catch up on the other threads tonight.

Turned in grades last night, so I have some free time for the next three weeks. Course, I have to get my new class ready for opening on Dec 31 and I have to learn new software and update a ton of things, but at least no papers to grade for a while. I really DO like teaching, but at the end of the semester, things just pile up on me.

I have had problems getting to sleep lately, so I have been sleeping in until about 10:00 am. Maybe I am just still on Pacific time??? Anyway, as that sign I once saw said, "No where to go and all day to get there." Sounds at night are always so interesting. Out west I heard wild burros braying, coyotes howling, and birds walking and pecking on my roof. (Amazing what big loud feet little birds have!)

Last night I heard an owl hooting and another owl farther away answering. Neat! The night before it was wild pigs squabbling about something--very noisy and nasty sounding.

I have been searching for a place to leave my motorhome for the four days I am flying out of Tampa Airport to visit my son in Ohio. I found a couple of offsite lots, but they were not fenced in completely and the reviews were very negative, so I finally called the actual on-site airport parking people. Would you believe the Economy Lot will handle big rigs up to 13' in height!!! And for much less money than the others?? I will be parking way in the back, but I feel much more secure about on-airport parking than those other places. Whew! I told the lady I talked to she had made my day and made me feel a LOT better. Amazing how attached we get to our homes on wheels, but I worry about it constantly when i am not in it.

I have selected a bunch of photos to post on Disney's Fort WIlderness. I think I am going to uploiad them today and post on the Interesting Places area, rather than Campground reviews, as I think it is more of an Interesting place than just a campground. Everyone agree??

Yesterday I took a tram tour and an airboat tour, so today, I take it easy and do some catchup. Tomorrow I get my bike out, fill up my tires and go for a ride or two.
