New Update on Sprinter

Just to clarify.....there still is no official diagnosis. They can see the tumor in the very upper part of the lung. She has all the symptoms of a pancoast tumor, I.e, extreme shoulder and arm pain from the tumor invading those nerves, among other symptoms. But, they have not been able to get any cancer cells for an official diagnosis. She has had cultures done from bronchoscope and needle biopsies, but no cancerous cells yet. This tumor is in an extremely difficult location. So without a diagnosis, they can not create a treatment plan. Without a diagnosis you can not apply for disability , etc. Can you imagine how frustrating this is???

Well, dog gone it - where have I been? I'm so sorry to hear about Sharon's problems. I, too, like the visual of circling wagons (or RVs as the case may be). Sorta like giant arms surrounding her. Hope they find out everything soon.

I'm sure it is a bit confusing for some of the newer members - we do have a few Sharons! But we all have different screen names. Perhaps that will help.

A fond memory: Back quite a few years ago in Quartzsite a bunch of us gathered for the first time. It got very cold while we were all sitting out and Sprinter Sharon whipped out a fire pot! Couldn't believe where she stored that thing in her darling little rig, but there it was!

My positive thoughts and many prayers are with you, Sharon. I am sitting in the Orlando MD Anderson waiting for MRI (brain) results for Terri. Not knowing makes the waiting harder but stay positive!

MD Anderson has been very efficient in filling Sharon's days with test after test after test on Wed, Thurs and again tomorrow. Then a couple tests and Dr. Appt. next week, another MRI after the first of the year and then a pow wow with all the docs to plan the next steps. Sharon is doing well under the circumstances Pain management is a key issue as well! Sharon sends thank yours to everyone for your ongoing prayers and support.
