Good morning, all....Looks like I'm the "Early Bird" today.... My whole week of normal sleep must be over....up today at 4:30am....oh, well, the joy of being retired is that there's always a "nap" later....

We're going to go finish our Christmas shopping for each other today....then it's clean the 5er, set up the tree, and wrap the packages here...the long distant gift giving is all done.....and have started to receive from the siblings , so they are on the ball this year, too....

Rain is the forecast for coastal GA today...got the coffee ready for ya' all....better go read what been going on.....

Have a great day, all....

Now that yore on the East coast, I've appointed yew to be owr official "early bird" opener! Nap later! Glad yore on top of the Cmas present thing. I need to mail cookies to my ant in CA, so that's my big project for after school today... Hey, I'm baking pmpkin mffins now, if anyone's ready! Was awake at 3:30, & thot abot all the food in my freezer--leaving on my big trip in 6 wks (!!) & need to get some of it into edible form. Hmmm, maybe I'll bring pmpkin mffins to the FL GTG??? Small freezer in my HarBor tho...Off to school this morning; feeling weird abot that. Even with my sensitivity & degree in psych/soc, this will be a challenge. Hope the admin has some kind of plan in place for facing the kids...Was nice to see a lot of posts yesterday afternoon! My bedtime is 7PM  so I'm thinking the day is over for everyone! Yikes, the manatee--I DO hope someone is on top of that! A crime!!!! Sharon, love yore style!!!! My sis has horses, & she's at the point where she has to lie when she goes to the emergency--one more horse-related injeries, & her ins co drops her!!! Ahhh, first batch of mffins are owt---mmmm, I impress myself, bt then I added choc chips to these, so how can anything with choc be bad!! ;) Ok, Lori & all, have a great day, enjoy yore loved ones, celebrate the holiday & as always, be safe wherever yew are! 8-)

Good morning Lori, Carolb, Red and all to follow. Glad it is not raining today. Need to make trip to post office today and then we want to get out to see the Historic Site down the road here before we leave tomorrow. Didn't get to see it last week because Paul was not feeling well on the day we planned to go.

Lori, you and Ernie have fun shopping for each other today.

Red, give Birdie and Sprinter a hug for me when you get there.

Carolb, anything you decide to fix for the FL GTG will be great, I am sure.

I need to get myself working before we take off so my day won't be totally unproductive.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Morning from foggy rainy Maryland. At least it isn't snow! Not into that white stuff anymore!

I have a couple of gift projects I want to work on this week...hope to get them done before Christmas. Still have to finish wrapping and clean the house. Cards are all done and will be mailed as soon as I walk them down to the mailbox!

Not sure what else is on the agenda for this week. Probably just same same. Boring life but someday I'll get to head down the road again.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

GOOD MORNING ALL.

I just called the skin cancer place to see if I could get surgery scheduled for this week instead of having to wait while the stuff grows more over Christmas-----it's a no go as the entire rest of this month and the first part of January is already filled in. I am not going to look forward to having this stuff growing in me over the holidays. The lab report was that both are squamous cell carcinoma, and I want to get it OUT of me. I feel like I could take a red-hot poker from a fire and brand it out, which I might still do. Why wait wait and more wait while those cancerous cells are doing their thing and growing and growing and dividing and dividing. Sigh----I do not do wait well at all. I am so sure these lesions both started with a deer fly bite on each leg.

I will head back to my house today and get some laundry done and come back here Wednesday night for an early-morning Thursday appointment to "discuss treatment options." As far as I am concerned, there is nothing to discuss-----carve that sh&% out of me.

A very sad bunch of news reports regarding the CT school shooting. I feel lucky compared to those parents who will not have their kids with them this Christmas morning. As a mother who lost her baby at two months of age to Sudden Infant Death, I know exactly what they are feeling. Their lives will be forever missing a piece of them. Those with other kids will have to go on, and it will be their saving grace as they have to be there for those remaining kids. My daughter saved me from dying at the time. as, wthout her, I would have had no reason to go on living.

Coffee as the sun comes up and melts away the heavy, heavy, pea soup fog of the early morning. Then on to Winn-Dixie here in St. Cloud before I head for home, find a Shell gas station to use my discount from Winn-Dixie, and tackle some chores back there, like cleaning out my gutters, some laundry and other yard work.

I hope all of you find happiness today doing something that will bring you happiness. Does anyone know anything about Loners on Wheels? Someone sent me a link to a video about them, and they seem to be our kind of people. I would appreciate any first-hand experience or knowledge about the group.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Yesterday, I went to our Secret Pal get-together with my mom's (female) side of the family. So many things have happened since I went to California. Babies born, divorces, cancer, deaths, etc. Lots to get caught up on. Last spring I had heard about one of my cousins who had been diagnosed with cancer and was told she didn't have long to live. I felt so bad about that. She showed up at the party! I was shocked! She even looked really good. She is still going thru the chemo and is putting up one heck of a fight! She has outlived all her doctors expectations. She is only about 40.

On the way home from there I did some Christmas shopping. I bought two tabletop games for out Christmas Eve dice game, one is air hockey and the other is a mini pool table. Steve (my XBF) stopped over to hook up my stereo system and I showed them to him. He suggested we try them out. We had so much fun playing that I decided to keep them for myself. So I guess I have more shopping to do to replace them.

Later today I have my annual physical. Then finish up my shopping and come home and do laundry and play some more pool!

Have a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning Lori and everyone else,

Yep, you definitely are the early bird this morning Lori. Had I not gone back to bed, I would have joined you a bit after 6, when Sassy woke me up for "pill time". But since it was nice and dark outside, I decided the nice warm bed sounded better than staying up  Actually I only was in there for about 45 minutes and then decided to roll out for good.

Nothing exciting going on around here today. Laundry day, so off to the laundromat in Ishpeming and also sent out some emails while I am up there. Will run by vet's office and get some more dog food although neither two of them are eating much these days. Guess the newness of new food has worn off. When we get back home, I will probably start giving Sassy something else as she doesn't need to be on this same food that Tessa is on. They had two nice walks yesterday. One here and then I took them over to Van Riper State Park and we walked along the road over there. There's only about an inch or less of grainy snow on the road. Spotted what I think might be moose tracks and possibly a wolf track over there. Might be coyote, but kind of big. Know it wasn't a dog cause the track has 5 very distinct pads as compared to a dogs 4. And of course the little mouse trails in the snow, rabbit and squirrel tracks etc.

I'm getting comfortable with life up here in the U.P. Now that I am staying here for a longer period of time, I am starting to find out where things and places are, not that I didn't know about them before, just no time to bother with them. And there's not as much traffic either, so I can kind of cruise down the highway and look at signs etc for a change. I did go to a small Cahtholic church near here this past Sunday and the people are so friendly. Made me feel right at home. Even invited me to come help them decorate the church next Sunday after mass. I'm going to do that. Should be fun and a good way to meet some people from around here. As is, I met some people who live down the road here from the resort last week while out walking the dogs and lo and behld, they were sitting behind me in church on Sunday.

Now that it's back to work week, all the fella's are back. Gone to work now. Noticed last night that a third truck has appeared, so much be somebody else adding to the work group. I think there are some ice fishermen due in today for a few days too. All these guys around here and none eligible

Speaking of guys, Barbie sounds like she had a great time on her date the other night. Course she said no pics right now, so we have to wait and see if we approve :

Time to get moving here. Got my laundry all set to go, but I"m not ready. Not rushing up there either cause I'm sure the early birds are doing their thing. The way the holidays are falling this year, I wanted to avoid the end of the week crowd and also there is a storm coming, but as of right now, looks like it's going to miss this part of the state. Chances of a White Christmas are getting iffy around here, but that can change over night. All we need is about an inch or two and we have "White Christmas". I am hoping for one of those treetops gleaming types

Y'all have a great day out there.

Haven't seen hide or hair of Soos lately. Wonder if she ran into an alligator while out on a walk or something. Been kind of conspiciously absent on the forum of late.
