U.P. Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Seems like forums always have people coming and going. When I first started with women RVers, the forum was RVAmerica if I remember correctly, then on to this one. Many on this forum were on that forum. A couple people do still go back to RVAmerica once in awhile. I don't do facebook at all.

Sue - Glad to see you were able to make your trip.

Barb - thanks for the snow photos. Love them but hope this is as close as I get to snow this winter.

Dawn - Thanks for the explanation of the chat group. Glad to learn it is not a splinter as I would sorely miss the Morning Coffee on here.

Also good to learn that I'm not the only person left in this world who does not have a FB account.

It was 60 degrees here at 3:00 AM. Temps are diving toward 28 for tonight. Rained all day but big severe thunderstorm or EF1 tornado came thru just before daylight. Two inches of rain in short period, high wind, trees down and spotty power outages - all restored before dark. News tonight showed pictures of all the Christmas trees (about 50 of them) that had been set up in Big Spring Park. Wind knocked them all over and park is asking for volunteers to come help clean up/restore display as soon as rain quits.
Hate to see our unseasonably warm weather end, sure was nice to have.

Thanks for the explanation Dawn, doesn't seem like the FB group is anything like this forum except some of the same people are participating.
What type of work do you do online if you don't mind sharing.
Glad to hear your power is back Sarah, I hope you didn't have any damage, you've had enough storm problems!!

I do internet marketing for a lot of retailers along with postings of things I just find interesting (recipes, craft patterns, RV info, etc). I did not work for about 6 months after Chuck passed away and I am working really hard to get my website updated and current again. Most mornings, I am working by about 6-6:30 and work off and on until about 8 or 9 at night. The dogs wanting out about once an hour or so, gives me breaks. So does getting hungry.  I just have a lot of catching up to do. If I don't work, I won't have gas money eventually.  Gas money is a necessity.

well I guess it's my turn to set the record straight again! Seems the chatter is flying high believing rumors from an insecure source... I'm shocked by all of you..something that was started so innocently for enjoyment turning into a bunch of bitter grapes..

Why does this not surprise me? Because from where it stems. And Yes, I can say that....Dawn and My chat room has NOTHING to do with this or any other Forum. No one is being taken from it like how this Forum started back in the days of R V America...which to me was a disgusting taste in my mouth and I never wanted to bring it up...as I was the victim while others played their little games..

Since that has past..this forum began with Beth, I and Sparkle..and I was very proud to see her grow..Why on God's earth would I want to take it apart..I put a lot of time into this forum to help her grow...

Now, I'm so tired of beating a dead horse..no one is making any of you join or having to post or getting up tight because you don't post..that's nonsense. Get real. You post when you can and if you want to. Don't feel guilty if you don't...you don't owe anyone anything..

Beth, this is for you..I have not answered your email because what you wrote I was appalled ....why or who is not for you too decide..I valued your friendship not to be stabbed in the back..nothing I've ever done or said wasn't said to YOU....

It's time we stop playing a game..this chat room is not out to put you out of your forum. Lets grow up and act like adults.

Mitch, if you joined because you wanted to see what we were about and report back..that's ok. But if you are really not interested let Dawn or I know. We are not wanting to create a monster of "I told ya so".

Our family, friends and all are joining and yes we are private..there is a lot going on in my life with an upcoming murder trial that I know I can vent and not worry who is reading what I'm saying

That's all I have to say.." I'm just so disappointed in this nonsense "..that is from me not anyone else..

I pray every day for each and every one of you please stop this and get on with what ever you enjoy doing

God bless

I said I was hurt, and I was and am. Nothing insecure about that. Sparkle would be the first to tell you she had nothing to do with starting this forum ... but yes, you and I were there for it. And I was right that this morning you, and Dawn, posted on your new morning thread (I hadn't named names and never intended to) but didn't post here. That came to me from others as I wasn't a member and couldn't see it. That said, I had already decided not to join "just to join" because I don't want to be part of most FB groups - I can't keep up with my friends and their posts enough now, and as others have said here, have enough trouble keeping up here. But I didn't want to see that take away from this ... and today, it felt that it did. I also have no problem with anyone having multiple venues to keep in touch - and that is one for those of you who want to use it.

If you are appalled by my feelings, sobeit. This forum and all the women here are a big part of my heart - and this forum has been a lot of work and time for me ... and so yes, I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure it stays and grows with as many, if not all, of the women who want to stay with it. And, yes, I will feel hurt when I think it's even remotely possible that someone or something is done that could hurt this forum.

I attacked no one and put no mean words against anyone ... I guess that's changed in reply .. and that also saddens me. That is the one tenet this forum is based on and I hope can return to. And I hope to see no more of it now.

Good gracious - why do people keep putting words in others' mouths?
I did NOT join to be a "spy" - I can't keep up with the things I need to read now.

Mitch, what is Pinkie FB? Whatever it is I won't join! FB has it's place, like I said, keeping up with old friends all over the country, but I don't like the stupid stuff.

 she's referring to the Pink Flamingos, the group that kicked me out because I didn't go to the TX GTG. Some of them call themselves the Pinkies.

Gosh, a few days without carolb & we are falling apart... NOT!!!
Didn't know anything about the FB group - I LOVE this group... I love hearing the chatter in the morning - what the weather is like where you are, what your plans are for the day, what the furbabies are up to...
I find I spend more time over here than I do on FB - I love how this is organized - how I can catch up & learn & laugh when i have time in my day... :D Heck, I'm responding to Morning Coffee at nearly 10 PM!
They are definitely 2 distinctly different venues - all I know is I have found this to be a welcoming, loving & caring group & look forward to continuing to be a part of it for a long time to come...

I'm thankful for each of you who contribute, read & keep this thing going!
And that's my 2cents. :D

I haven't been a member since the beginning, but haven't you officially "quit/left" the Forum several times, even withdrawing all of your Morning Coffee artwork one of those times?

I would have thought that a founder of the Forum would work out the issues with their co-founder(s)/friends, especially after having put so much time into it?

Sometimes statements that people make are confusing and oftentimes, misleading, don't you think?

I think this forum, Facebook and chat rooms are all completely different mediums of communication and each fulfills a different level of connecting with others. While I don’t post here a lot certainly doesn’t mean that I don’t usually read it every day and enjoy it immensely. (“Hello, my name is Pat and I am a lurker.” :( ‘applause’ “HI PAT”) However, I do find that I feel that I need to be a bit more organized with my thoughts before I put something on a thread because it seems more permanent. In addition to that since I haven’t been to any GTG and have only had a chance to meet a few people in person. I often feel like a bit of an outsider and I don’t have much to offer.

If and when I get on the computer before I go to work I do check FB first. The reason for that is that I get news and updates from family and my other friends, not just those of you on this forum. I can write a quick response and not feel like I’m being a slacker! Chat rooms tend to give immediate gratification. I don’t do chats often, because when chatting in real time a person has to be dedicated to what they’re doing. I’m often making supper and lunch for the next day, doing laundry, visiting with DH, playing with Radar in the evening and I can’t be tied to a computer. Though I do really enjoy chatting on occasion.

I don’t think there is a need to feel that this forum is threatened because of the new FB group. Truthfully, tension is developing that isn’t necessary. It’s really not any different than members who still frequent the “other forum”, RV.net, ORS or many other sites. Variety is the spice of life. ;)
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
