Martha, don't give those kittens any ideas....they might throw a few other things to the curb to make room.... and you might end up missing something important.....

In reference to Beth's Post:

I sure hope they post here as well as Facebook. I now it would be double posting of info for some, but not for all. I am not a habitual morning poster, but I sure do enjoy reading them.I have joined the morning FB group, but will not be posting there on a regular basis (just like here on the forum), because in the mornings I am getting read for work.

I like Facebook for certain aspects, but I enjoy the forums more. I like that the forums have organized areas to post your post relating to that subject matter. Facebook is a continuous feed, so I miss a lot of the stuff posted because I usually can't go back that far without getting a warning that my computer memory is being used up and it suggest I close and reopen, well I am not going to do that. It is too much trouble and a pain.

Edit to add: I agree with Wendy that the FB Chat group is not intedned to get members here to post there. Several of them, me occasionally, chat in the early am hours, but it was open to all to see. The two most prolific early chatters wanted to make it a private group (I liked that idea). When they decided to make it private, as a thoughtful gesture, they invited the other commenters to their post to join the group, since it was going private. I certainly don't think there is any ill intent towards this forum.

My .02 cents. :D

Good morning (afternoon) all. I didn't post yesterday because I could barely life my head off the pillow. Feeling bad any way is extremely rare for me. I can't remember the last day I spent all day in bed. It seems to be gone today. I wonder if it was because the Dr. changed my bp medicine, but that was about a month ago. Anyway. Just my thoughts are: I read every am on here an FB, I go to FB because I have school friends ex co-workers and other groups on there I stay in touch with. I think the morning group had been formed as more of a chat thing, since it kind of had been forming anyway. It's not meant to compete with this. I don't post on here everyday, but neither do a lot of others. Also, I know how to get pictures on FB but not here Mitch. Just my 2 cents , but it does not have to be a problem. You all have a good rest of the day. It's 3:40 here but feels much later. Wendy

I didn't know about the FB group and also wonder 'why'? (Okay, Wendy was posting at the same time so that sheds some light on the subject).

FB has become more of a chore for me because there are so many 'shares'. I use it to keep up with friends and family I wouldn't hear from otherwise.

Cool and very windy here - had to get out a warmer jacket! Guess the long pants will be next :)

I have started getting the camper ready for the 8 a.m. truck oil change tomorrow. I think I have found places to store everything for travel!

Barbie, love the snow pictures!

I don't think the intention of the Facebook chat was to splinter anything. It's set up as a closed chat area so that it isn't open to the public, in case anyone needs to vent about anything they don't want everyone in the world to read. I too enjoy coming here and reading the morning postings, even though I don't often post. I really don't feel I have much to post about. But occasionally have a comment or two to make. My 2cents worth.

What Facebook chat??? As usual, I'm in the dark. My gs opened a Facebook acct for me and I've posted a few pics but not instead of here. I do have to admit pics are easier to post on FB! But it's not an "instead of". carold

I do not believe that once a "thread" is started on FB, that a picture can be added. My understanding is that a pic can only be posted on the initial post. Maybe someone can set me straight if I'm wrong.

Aren't the posts going to be duplicates of those here?
Or will those women just post on FB and not here?

And what Tina said is so true - FB just doesn't allow the "flow" that is allowed here. Pictures would be a big example.

Since it appears many of us weren't aware of the FB chat I take it to be by invitation only and like Mitch I admit to being curious about the reason for a new and private group.

It is not a private WomenRV chat. It is a separate and distinct group started over on Facebook by some of the women here, but can also include men, family, and non-RVing friends.

It is private and invitation only. And that is about the extent of my knowledge of the group.

Barbie, loved your pictures but like to see snow in pictures, not in person.

Checking in late today because have been busy getting ready to hit the road tomorrow. Also have not been posting as much lately because I have gone back to work. I know I have already let the forum sistah's know I am back to work and honestly don't have the time to keep up with all postings anymore. I do read all the morning coffee posts along with campfire along with blog postings as I can. I like to try to keep up with where everyone is and what they are doing.

In response to Beth's post, the FB Coffee Chat has nothing to do with the forum. We started the chat because the people in the chat group are the people Barb and I chat with all day long on FB. Have been doing this as long as we have been posting in the forum. Nothing changed except we decided to make the group private since we don't know what everyone's privacy settings are on FB and in this day and age that is a concern. The Early Risers Coffee Chat was started to address that concern. The people in the Chat are people we took from our FB friends lists. The members include not just RV'ers, but family and friends also. The people we talk with everyday. All our friends are welcome to join. This just makes it where our posts don't show up on some stranger's wall. Beth was even asked if she wanted to join in the group. Every member can request their friends they want included be added. With what I do, I have to have FB up all day since I am posting to my business FB page along with my website. In between my business postings, I can quickly see the new FB posts, respond and then get right back to work. Again, this has nothing to do with the forum. It was not started to take anything away from the forum. I have always checked into FB first thing in the morning before I check into the forum. Nothing changed. The name came from the fact that it is usually very early in the morning when we start talking on FB, but the conversations continue all through the day and into the night. We are definitely not trying to split anything off from the forum. There is definitely room for both. There always has been. Privacy on FB is what we were after. Why the insecurity about a FB chat that has only changed to be more private?

My morning routine is to pour that first cup of fresh coffee, feed Missey (my dog) her breakfast, take her out for potty, then read the paper out on the patio (rain or shine)....then on goes the laptop & I check all my e-mails, answer what needs to be answered & then I check facebook in case my Grandson has posted news about that missing student....I have noticed the other 'coffee group' & wondered 'Why' ??? Kind of disappointed that those people involved decided to start a morning post when we have one here.....What's the point ? So to get back to my routine, after I check with Grandson I come to this website....it's my wake up & enjoy the day place & though I don't post much (my life isn't interesting enough & my RV is in storage)...I sure do enjoy reading everybody else's (word???) daily experiences.....So, with that, I will probably ignore the FB one & stick with this one that Beth has taken such good care of & hope others will follow suit....I've been with this group for many years & watched as people came & went & felt lucky that I could be a part of it....so that's my 2 cents.....My only complaint is that try as I may....I can't figure out how to post pictures...and sure don't remember how I got my avatar posted so long ago....think Beth fixed it for me....she's irreplaceable !!! Guess that's my 3 cents.....Hope all have a great evening, stay warm & enjoy...be careful if you're on the road...time to find a place to park if you are....getting dark here !!!!

.
I have to chuckle - ORS, Women's Forum, regular Facebook, Pinkie Facebook, Early Coffee Riser Facerbook, Face Timing with various friends, reading various blogs...do you people have more hours in your day than we have here in Tennessee?
