Missing ASU student

Postby Excel » Thu Dec 06, 2012 9:27 pm

Just wanted to share this story as I know there are some of you in Arizona & well, you never know...maybe someone knows someone who knows something.....I have a Grandson who attends Ariz. State Univ. and he has kept me informed about this horrible tragedy. Having recently lost a daughter I can easily sympathize with the family & all involved. There's a lot that isn't being properly reported and so I asked my Grandson if he thought it would help to contact a local TV station here in the Bay area....He said it couldn't hurt....so I spent a lot of hours trying to do that on the web with no success...finally gave up & contacted a local newscaster that is very popular on Channel 7 in this area....he got right back to me (& yes I was surprised)....anyhow, there's a good chance this story will air here locally and again, you never know....maybe something will come of it....the Mother is from Orange County which is in Southern CA and she & her son who is a twin of the missing son went down to Tempe to join in the search....... It is incredible what these ASU students are doing & my Grandson is totally involved....Alec & many, many others have organized a search, set up a prayer meet, set up a contribution $$$ drive for the family ( Mother lost her husband recently...) and are doing all they can....What I wanted to say is....it's easy to say today's kids are just a bunch of losers for the most part....well, let me tell you how untrue that is....what these kids are doing (with finals coming up) is absolutely incredible.
As I still do not understand how to post pictures, I have posted here the url (is that what it's called) so if you are interested you can read about this 19 yr. old student who has disappeared............Prayers please ..

BTW this is on Facebook but if you go to Alec Katric you can see all the posts ...

The news said that ASU police are handling it...why isn't city or state police running the show? Not all kids are on the wrong track, but a good part of the high school students around here are. Hope they find him alive and well. He must have either been drinking pretty heavily or causing trouble to be escorted out of the Cadillac Ranch.

No matter what the cause, I sincerely hope they find that missing student. I can't imagine being a parent and not knowing where my child was. Please keep us up to date.

How did I miss your losing a daughter? I know I should be aware, but I need my memory jogged, I guess. Huge hugs to you for your loss. Losing a child is one of life's greatest tragedies and agonies, as I know only too well, having lost a baby to sudden Infant Death. One's heart never really heals----you just adapt to the loss as you grow older.

It's only speculative that he was escorted out..wouldn't they have let him get his phone, knowing he would need to call someone to help him? He could have been urged by someone else possibly under threat...Our youth sow their wild oats, they always have, and always will but there are so many more dangers now than even in my youth.

Evidently someone saw from a helicopter yesterday. something floating in the water of that nearby lake....they notified the police & so today the police are searching about a mile further down from their original search. The news reporter interviewing a policeman just made my blood boil. She was so condescending...covering all the bases so that the police dept. in their (what I call their very limited search) wouldn't look bad..... The family has been notified & being as this is 'rough' terrain. it may take them a few hours to search this new area. ????? Where are the boats, police helicopters, divers.....guess it takes time to decide how to proceed.....I am simply disgusted with the whole process & the way the agencies have handled this...Have not heard from my Grandson so far today so have nothing more current to post......meaning: what is really going on & not what the news agency is reporting....doesn't look good either way...
Soos I lost my daughter Kathy who lived with me for many years....my life is not the same & I don't think I'll ever get used to the loss or be okay again....I miss her more than I can express in words...

Police have stopped their search....My Grandson has organized a further search by ASU students starting this AM....the police have been notified that the students will be searching further & farther in the area...it appears to be well organized....but till today no sign of this young man....the shoe found by his Mom however is his according to DNA testing.........can't imagine how this family is holding up....

I sure hope they can find him, even if it is their worst fears, so that they can have answers, but I believe in holding out hope until then. Where was his shoe found?

I hope it's not just the campus police on the case. That's like having the keystone cops. We had a college girl go missing this year and with a city wide search of video camera they got clues that helped lead to an arrest. It wasn't a good outcome but a guy that is probably a serial killer is in jail.

His Mom found the shoe in the brush about an 1/8th of a mile from the club....The search yesterday by the college kids did not yield any clues....Mother cleaned out his dorm room, packed his stuff in her van & is heading back to Orange county....she has posted that she is hiring a private investigator to keep this search going....I think the local police agencies are irresponsible, inept and useless....maybe the private investigator will turn up something....Oh...they (police) finally said they were going to check videos in the area.........the kid has been gone for 9 days....and they're first doing that now....obscene !!!!!

It appears he was found in the river close to where his Mother found the shoe. Private investigators found the body. Praying for all family & friends. Terrible tragedy.

I was hoping for a better outcome, but after all this time didn't really expect it. To much sadness right now.
