I DID IT!!!!!

I bought myself a little red Fit sports car. I now have it hooked up for towing. Went today and finished up the brake system. Towed it home from Wildwood yesterday. they fixed the slide out, Liz went down with me and helped me get all the parts in the right place. But it towed easily. Unhooked it last night when I got home, then rehooked it this morning and pulled it down for the braking system to be installed.

Now I can really go see all those special places... Never thought I would try to tow, but this is all an easier task than I expected.

Now we will be FIT at the Fl gathering.

There will be a whole fleet of Fits. I had to take both of my vehicles over to the western side of Cincinnati to figure out why my lights were not working. When I had driven the car over by myself the young guy shock the car and the cable and said it was all okay. The electric connections on the rv showed that they had juice so I had no choice but to take both over ( required a second driver). Interesting part is that when the owner checked the system he quickly found that the ground wire in the car's system had come loose. Mostly I was happy that I now have lights and brakes once again and am getting closer to heading south. Having the broken windshield repaired next week......

And I agree the hooking up works pretty great.....it is that remembering that you can't back up that influences your stopping and parking choices.

I am making a sign to go on my windshield that says DO NOT BACK UP. So I park, get out, grab the cables let them loose and then back in..

With the back up camera in place, will remind me I have a car back there.

Alright, I gotta ask this question. What is a 'Fit'? I have been sitting here reading the entries on this thread to Terri's family and everyone was really getting a kick out of them. "the Fit is a perfect fit!"

BUT none of us know what a Fit is!!

The Honda Fit. Only some cars can be towed with 4 wheels on the ground and the Fit is one of them. I want a Honda CR-V but haven't figured out how to swing it yet.

The fit can be towed 4 wheels down as an automatic, which is also a plus for older knees. It is one of the light weights and given that I have a 350 engine and a small rig I wanted something under 3000 pounds.

It gets good mileage and the part I love the best is the hauling space in my mini "mini van"....
