Credit Card Theft Warning- a must watch

In the 1990's Mobil Gas issued you a credit card and another device that you added to your keychain. This device could be used as a swipe and go inside the station/convenience store. Probably worked along the same principle as swiping the credit cards. It was advertised as being ultra convenient for the customer and clerk because it cut down on handling time and not printing the receipt. It turned out not to be too convenient as Mobil stopped using them. Linda

We had one of those Mobil wands and both months we had the darn thing we had extra charges on it. My DH thought an employee was able to quickly get to the pump after he left and was able to pump gas using our number. Now, in light of this discussion, I'm wondering if just walking past the pump with the wand in his pocket activated it. In any case, guess you know we cancelled that account!

I'm still on a hunt for the aluminum wallet/card holders. Only one I found yesterday had a clear front so it could be used with IPOD's etc. as well. I was so mad that my bank never notified me of this new technology on my cards. Were they ever going to tell us? Imagine the possibilities for tracing your purchases, etc.

Anyone know of any other surprises that might be included in our cards?

I checked my BofA Visa and my Debit card and am okay. However, yesterday when I got my bank statement they had included info about this new card with the chip in it and how safe it was & how convenient, etc. Call them & they'll send your 'new' replacement card right out......Hope no ones holding there breath back there cause it ain't gonna happen. Glad for this info on our website but it was also on TV last night.....really scarey!!!!
