Let's get together!

Quartzsite, AZ gtg January 19, 2013 (update)

Postby Redwahine » Sun Nov 25, 2012 1:38 pm

Turns out a lot of us will be near Quartzsite, AZ in the latter part of January. Everyone will be staying at different locations. However, Lets gtg. Here is what has sprouted so far :P

Saturday, January 19th in the afternoon.

Location? Beth explains, "The location will be where Kerrie is boondocking (in the area that Sheila used to park). We'll (those of us who haven't been there before) need directions to find it. It's on the long term boondocking BLM land. Of course, we can always try for other times - but hoping we can get a big group on this one afternoon/evening, then go from that - as I know we'll all be all over the place."

From Sharon: For those of you wanting to boondock with Beth and I, please pm me and I'll send you directions where I'm at and my phone number. If you let me know when you'll be there, I'll stick around camp and come lead you in if you're not comfortable looking for me. Because this forum is open for the public to read, I don't want to post them here.

From I-10 west bound:

Exit 19, turn left, go to end of road, turn right (Kuehn street). Go to stoplight (about 1 1/2 mile) intersection of 95 and Kuehn st, turn left. About 1/8 of a mile, left turn lane, La Posa North.

From I-10 east bound:

Exit 17, turn right, go to stopsign, turn left (Kuehn street), go about a mile to intersection of 95. Turn right, about 1/8 of a mile, left turn lane, La Posa North.

From Arizona 95 North:

North on 95, pass La Posa South, keep an eye out for La Posa North on right side of road, you'll see the big tent ahead and to the left.

I'll come out for a day visit since I can't bring my fifth wheel and will try to make it a day when the majority is there.
And since I work during the week, it will be a weekend.

if you want hook ups make sure you ask if they have them and find out how far they are from the big tent
parking is at a premium and in some cases can end up parking further than you are camped
One of these I think doesn't have hook ups but wouldn't swear to it
I spoke to Kerry she occupies my spot out on the desert and she is ok with us
coming there we can have a campfire and if you all want we can do Najaho Taco's or
we can do anything else that you all might want

Oh, pretty please do the tacos when I'm there :) Pick a night for that - and let's plan that out by Kerry - and we can go from there. This will not be the kind of gtg where everyone can be at one park - that would have had to be planned long ago. I wouldn't be surprised but that many of the cg's you listed won't have available spaces now for during the show times. I am, tentatively, planning to come for a few days and bringing my rig.

Maybe we could have two gtg nights? One during the week when Evie (Pooker) could hopefully attend. And maybe another on the weekend. I won't know for sure which day(s) I'll be able to be there until the end of Dec when I have my schedule here. But can tentatively plan it - and if necessary, thanks, Sheila for the offer of your place if need be.

I am on my way to Quartzsite as we speak. Tonight I am in the State Park, in Glenns Ferry Idaho, in the rain... and should be in Q in two days...maybe three where it's been 80 degrees and sunny. It wasn't my original "winter" plan...but I am a woman and it is my perogative to change my mind...right?
I will be looking forward to a get-together down there. I vote "tacos" I always vote Mexican food anything. See ya there!

I'll be there, probably camped out on BLM by Kerry so I can bug her. Let me know which days so I can go get Evie (Pooker) I usually just take my RZR but if I need the car I can take it instead.

It looks like I could come on the 19th for 3 or 4 nights. Want to bring the rig, but will have to wait to see on that. If I do, I'll be in the free short term area. But if the most will be there on the weekend, maybe a gtg on Saturday night the 19th? For one time, anyway. If Sheila can make that and do her famous tacos.

Yummy Navajo tacos!!

I will probably be in Q with another group during the show time. If so, I will drive my MH to BLM where Kerry is (like I did last year) if that's where the Gtg. is going to be, spend the night and then go back to the other side of Q the next day or so. That is if Sharon will help me back up. LOL Pretty sure I won't have a tow car.

We can all bring something to go along with the Tacos.

It's really easy to find, I'll send you directions later and my phone #. You can call from the ranger station and I'll come get you.

Linda, you gonna get lost again this year or am I gonna have to come rescue you again?? I'll send you my number, too, in case you want to call from the ranger station for me to come get ya! :D
