This is Shama, my new little girl! She is about 5 years old and is possibly a Lhasa Apso/ShihTzu mix. Her owner went into a nursing home last spring and the niece took the dog but just hasn't had the time or interest to properly take care of her. A friend of mine told me about her and I decided to take her.
She is the sweetest and most playful little thing! I took her to PetCo today and bought her toys, real food (she was fed cat food), and other things I needed for her. Her feet and legs were badly matted so I had PetCo shave them for me. She still needs a bath but I can do that later this week once she feels more settled in.
Seems she is terrified of the flash on the camera so I will have to wait until tomorrow during daylight to take any more pics of her. Lola is keeping her distance so far but the dog likes cats and wants to play with her.
I have already had more exercise today than I usually get in a week, with walking her several times already! Seems I will be getting a lot of fresh air and exercise this winter!
What fun you all are going to have! 
You both are so blessed to find each other...and don't worry about Lola, she'll come around when the 2 of them get to know each other.... 
I've lost and maintained a 25 pound weight loss since Spinner came into our lives 3 yrs. ago...with walking him....so life with a dog can be healthy for everyone in the family.....
