Today was the day. Took Sophie to the SPCA to meet her new best friend. They were a little concerned because Baxter could be a little "agressive" when playing. Introduced them on leashes - lots of tail wagging and sniffing of butts. Turned them loose and a lot of running, sniffing, peeing and tail wagging. Only once Baxter got a little pushy and Sophie snapped at him. He backed right down so you know who the oboss is going to be. Women rule - hoomans or dogs. Rode home in the care together in the back seat - no whining or crying. Got them home and turned them loose in the yard - HAPPY DOGS. Lots of peeing by Baxter, staking his claim. Baxter promptly squeezed thru the fence so off to the hardware store and after stapling some screening to the fence, voila - no more squeezing through.
Baxter is a year and a half; not much of a barker, walks well with Sophie on a leash, part peke and part terrier and has been at the shelter since August and did I say really sweet.
Guess I'll have to remember how to change my signature photo - when I get one take of the three of us. Buddy and Sassy are smiling down from the Rainbow Bridge.
