My sister lives in Port Orchard, WA (just south of Bremerton) and she was telling
me the same thing about the rain today. She even sent me pics of her flooded
5 acre property. I used to live on Bainbridge, Island, WA (across Puget Sound
from Seattle) and I used my Gortex raincoat all the time. I hate to hear that it
has a "shelf life". Maybe I should get some "crab fishing in the Bering Sea" clothes
........just in case...............!

What a mental pic I had of you garbed up and scrambling to get your trailer moved  Glad the owners called and gave everyone a chance to keep their trailers dry. Good luck to you and all the people in the area. carold

Oh my Laura! I too am glad they called you and you were able to get your trailer to higher ground. I loved the way you wrote your post. I could just feel that rain coming down cats and dogs and goats, etc. Watching the weather now to see when it might clear up for you in the PNW.

It wasn't fun to do but it sure makes an good story to retell around a campfire....you'll like retelling it better after the clothes dry, the sun comes out and the standing water has gone down. Glad that it was a successful rescue attempt. I think Mr. Murphy was busy over in FL taking out a car......

I'm sorry you had to go through it, but glad you were able to rescue the trailer before it flooded.

Hope your trailer is still safe from the flood. The weather channel is showing the flooding and it's still raining.

Glad you got the trailer to safety. I, like Beth, got a little chuckle out of your description.

Wow, Laura----as I was watching the WA weather on this morning's news, I wondered about our RVing friends out there and what they would do. Little did I know that a new clothing company, BSCF&Sons, would be born in the midst of this! That line of Berring Sea Crab Fishing outifts might just be the biggest money-winning investment in the stock market, given the new trends in weather due to climate change!

Really happy to hear you made the move before that neat new rig got to floating-----kudos to the people who called you in time, and to you for persevering! :)

So, I guess you didn't bring home any crabs... Really glad you were able to get your rig out in time, though. Lots of severe weather up your way.

Happy to hear it is on "hopefully" safer ground. What a stressful late afternoon!

So glad you and the RV are safè and sound. You description had me envisioning you dressed like the boys on Deadliest Catch. My family is in Port Orchard as well. Just tried to call and got no answer...wonder if the wind kicked off the electronic again. Happens a lot up there cuz they won't bury the electric lines in a land where 40 foot tall trees are common.
