First Rally Experience

Postby sistert » Tue Nov 13, 2012 7:55 pm

Hi everyone!

Just a quick "HI THERE!" and a note to say that mom and I attended the "Mid-Atlantic RVing Women Pre-Thanksgiving Rally" this weekend in Lancaster, PA. I don't think she posted this already but she did post details on her blog.

I could only be there Friday and most of Saturday. Mom was there Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon. What a marvelous time! Little rigs, big rigs, single Rvers, couples, friends, etc... Laughing until your stomach hurt. Exchanging of information. It only made us both even more excited to attend a gathering with you all. :D We did tell everyone about this group so hopefully a few of them will stop by and join the fun.

Chat more later,

So glad that you had a good time. Now you are hooked in a wonderful way.... :) Glad to know that you mom was able to attend and enjoy the experience. With all the storm damage in the east coast I was afraid that she would be traveling around evaluating claims, etc. in all that mess. Post any pictures that you find....we are easy.

Sadly not many. Mom posted a few on her blog (http://roadweaver.blogspot.com/). The few I remembered to take were of ways different people modified/added to their RVs.

- Using a slide bolt as a latch for the screen door
- Using closet organizers in the large. hanging clothes section of the closet.
- Small tension rods in cabinets to keep items from falling out.
- Clear sewer hose attachment at RV to monitor progress
Etc....

Will do better next time. Promise!

Good Morning,
Will have to check out the roadweaver site after work this evening to see pics...I had secret plans to take my mom to that rally (we have never been to anything like that and I thought we would both love it) HOWEVER she and my dad already had plans to camp in VA. Then DH got a last minute boat delivery to SC so I was on chauffeur duty for the teenager all weekend...the best laid plans!
Lancaster is only an hour away. Hope they have another in the spring!
Have a great day everyone :D

Loved the descriptions of everything on the blog and of course, the pictures. It really looked like you had a great time. That is wonderful. It is really great meeting other women who do this out on the road. Makes you realize you truly are not alone.

I hope your Mom likes my post about the rally. Hopefully, you and your Mom can make the Theme Rally 5/31, my daughter and I plan to be there. I saw pictures of past ones, they had a pajama party, a garden party and other themes. People dressed up.

I can now see how there are RV'ers out there who just travel from rally to rally! I already warned mom that she's going to have to hide in her rig if she wants to get some rest. LOL! This whole community is amazing. I know there are bad eggs out there; people are people; but for the most part we both look forward to meeting every last one of you!

Thanks for the date, Roadweaver! I hope we can make that trip - going to stick it on the calendar as soon as I get home. Last I checked that website they did not have that info up. Hope to meet you there!
